Reading that Dm will be given ample funds this summer to bring in new players and that Tfg are more than happy with Dm with his achievement, and a new contract is close as they see Dm as the manager to take us to the next level. Exciting times ahead for Everton after a couple of windows; we should have a very good team, COYB.

Last five games draw, lose, lose, draw, draw. 3 points from possible 15. Definitely not the form that is going to get us into Europe. During this time, barring injuries, we have played the same players, used the same tactics, and made the same substitutions. While totally ignoring other players on the bench, or not making changes when certain players are clearly not playing well.
And don't give me the players on the bench are not good enough line. Rohl who appears to have been written off for most of this season gets his chance and shows us what he can do. Aznou looked sharp when he came on, haven't seen him since, and it's not as if Micky has been playing well. As for bringing Alcaraz on with two minutes to go, why? KDH was having a poor game, so why wait until the 94 minute?
People saying we have improved massively this season, well we are currently one point better off than last season.

But many will say at least we are not fighting relegation. Agree we are not but the opportunity was there to qualify for Europe and really kick on next season. That opportunity is now fading fast and it's down to Moyes negativity in games. His stubbornness to change things when they are not working, and this negative vibe he gives out when being interviewed.
We need to realise that this is no longer little old Everton who are punching above their weight (another line I hate) . We have new owners, a new ground which is generating income streams from all sports. Perhaps we now need a manager that can now take us to the next level, a manager who sees European qualification as a minimum and not something that would have been nice.

Best post for a long long time on here. Covers everything I feel. Didn't realise we are only a point better off than last season with 2 games to go.

Thank God for that. Time to update all your CV's and review the 'when I' videos.

Agreed, it will be interesting to see what response we have from the owners. It's a risk changing managers, and the easy way out will be to continue with Moyes and mid-table expectations, with the possibility of getting into Europe.

Unfortunately that's what a lot of supporters are happy with us achieving.
New players will help, but only if he uses them, and up to now that has not happened to most.

Agree with an awful lot of what you say, Brass, and the last two lines really hit home, mate. Good post.

I'm going to see where we are after the next two games. We can put it all on Moyes, manager has to take responsibility, but our 'top performers' have been just as responsible in the last few games.

I love Jarrad Branthwaite and his history with his hamstrings reminds me of Ian Snodin, full of international ambitions and who was constantly hampered by them, eventually finishing his top flight career. I hope it's not history repeating itself and depriving us of another great player finished at a young age.

It could be the case his body is still growing, and it's happened to a few who, once their body adapts, begin to fulfil their potential. 🫰

Watching the Spurs match last night and in particular Richy, he was really poor last night. Either it was because he’s in a rubbish Spurs side or he’s lost his mojo. Would have welcomed him with open arms. Not a chance now the way he is playing.

I think it's a bit of both, GB. Crap side, but he's been injured loads in recent seasons. Not sure he is the same player.

Love him, but would be a mistake to bring him back. Hope that he can find a suitable club when Spurs are relegated.

I know he played as a 9 for Brazil and does on occasion for Spurs, but I always liked him on the left. Rumour has it we are interested in a deal to keep Grealish for next season, so no need for Richy, besides, he is blonde now.

Seems we must be grateful, that we nearly, made one of the minor European competition's, that it was unrealistic to expect to do so!
This is Everton, only the best is good enough. Latin may not be in our new owners' grasp, but they sure as hell must recognise that the colapse of the last four games, is totally unacceptable, with even a modicum of performance, we could realistically have been in a Champions League place.

So please, thank Moyes for his contribution, then go and at least, compete for the Bournemouth manager signature.

Success is relative, and lots of our fans see it differently. Based on our history and success 40 years ago, fans expect more. Based on our flirtation with relegation time and time again over the past decade, it's seen as a step in the right direction.

Could not have been better, yes. Is it a disaster, no.
I think we're well set for a good summer, and stability may be worth more than we realise.

With you on that, JB. Beginning of last season, that was what all of us wanted, the team we have and the manager have done well this season. We move on now, get recruits in the summer and go again. Well pleased how this season has turned out, lovely weekends and no sleepless nights, mate, with better things to come.

We could still finish 13th if things go badly.

Funnily enough, Always Blues, I was contemplating yesterday the fact that we cannot keep up with the mighty Bournemouth, Brighton or Brentford teams that have not won a trophy between them and people on here are "well chuffed".

This against Everton with 9 league wins, five FA Cups and a Cup Winners' Cup.
30 years of crap, how the mighty have fallen. I have a tattoo on my arm that says "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" and it doesn't mean "mid-table is good enough"!

We're 1 point better off this season, with 2 games to play. So, yes, we have improved enough to not worry about relegation at all this season, which has done all our stress levels the world of good.

That is not good enough. More points and a higher finish in the league were very achievable this season. We brought in players like Grealish and KDH that definitely improved our team. Those 2 improved us in the areas we were strongest last season, LW and CAM (Ndiaye & Alcaraz) . Ndiaye went RW and did well, but is now back at LW.

Barry hasn't improved us upfront yet. Hopefully he does in the future, if he's still with us. But how or why we haven't brought in a RB I will never understand, especially as we now have a CB playing RB all season.

Since we beat Chelsea, we have been terrible, especially our back line. All 4 of them are not playing well, yet start every game. So, they can and should easily be replaced by better players. I don't rate Keane, think Mykolenko brings nothing to the team, and Tarkowski looks like he's well past his best.

Bring in a RB asap, try O'Brien at CB, and bring in another CB if Branthwaite's injury is a recurring hamstring. If Aznou was brought in to replace Myko, then play him and let Myko be the cover. And, if Aznou is no better than Myko, get shot of him and bring in someone that is better than Myko. There are plenty of LBs that are steady defensively and can help in the attacking third.
All this is only my opinion.

Did anyone catch Nigel Martyn is representing England National Cricket team for over 60s? Fair play to him.
