Really impressed with McNeil, his attitude and his play, can't have been easy. I know lots of people aren't fans of him but I like him.

He's doing ok and worth his place in the team.

Always gives 100%, but I'd like to see a quicker player on the wing. George should be getting game time.

Beto should play later imo.

Their back pair are top quality defenders and big lads, so we will need Beto to give them as good as they get. Not sure Barry is built for that. Although he wins more duels, they rarely go to our men, a bit like DCL tbf.

Beto running in behind them and being able to jostle with them will offer more to us, I think.

Barry or Beto. Or neither, folks?

Beto for me to start out of the 2. Barry wouldn't have a kick early on, I don't think. Gonna be a tough 1. Hopefully get an early goal, however it comes, and they will get gitery, but if we concede 1st, it could be a hammering for us. I would take a draw, but I'm going for 1.2 Ndiaye pen and a Keane thunderbolt. Coyb's.

I think this game depends quite substantially on what Tim decides to turn up, Ron.

Not sure which way this will go. Especially with no JB or Tarks.

1

14 Mar 2026 16:48:09
A week of warm weather training and we come back weaker than when we went lol. No Tarks or Branthwaite.

This will be tougher now as if it wasn't tough already. 😅

14 Mar 2026 17:47:57
Very concerning that Branthwaite plays three or four matches, has a ten day break, then unfit again.

14 Mar 2026 10:23:56
I don't know why, maybe it's because the sun is out, maybe I have drunk too much this week, but I just have a feeling we are going to sneak a 1-0 win today.

Am I expecting anything out of today's game? Probably not. Our away record is good, but they are a class team with strength everywhere and as a squad doesn't have many weaknesses. I think a point would be a great result. Can I see us scoring? No, that's our weakness. I'm going for a hopeful 0-0.

Bit out of left field - but Issa Kabore at Wrexham on loan from Man City. Reckon he would be a decent buy as right back / wing back.

14 Mar 2026 10:31:35
He was good for Luton as well, I thought, Snodinsnads. Could do worse for sure.

13 Mar 2026 20:27:36
Would be well chuffed with a point tomorrow but I reckon we can Nick it 1-2, they won’t be relishing playing us get at them from the off.

My God, fella, stop drinking, would ya, ya header.

Just reading young Graham isn't ready for 1st team football 18 and 5.9 scored 31 goals so far playing at different ages in the academy levels, always trains hard and is 1st and last off the pitch in training. Hope he doesn't get fed up, leave.

Also been played in a variety of positions and is eager to learn to improve. Give the lad a place on the bench and if we are comfortably winning give him a cameo. Arsenal played 2 16 year olds in the cup last week.

13 Mar 2026 17:56:55
Keep saying the same thing, mate. Would love to see him up front with Tyrique.

1

13 Mar 2026 19:52:54
We are in the best position we have been in in years, and the threat of relegation is low. Why not play the lad? Maybe next home game bring him on with 20mins to go to give him a run out..

Completely agree with Ron.

1

13 Mar 2026 20:25:13
Makes sense to play him late on and get used to the Premiership.

1

13 Mar 2026 23:50:14
Cameos against Arsenal have proved fruitful in the past. Rooneeeeeeeyyyy!!

Loving the Big Match Revisited ITV 4. 1977 Big Bob Latchford and his 30 goal season. We trounced Coventry, QPR, Chelsea that season!

13 Mar 2026 17:57:32
Now what a player he was, a true Legend.

3

14 Mar 2026 17:29:36
Yeah, how we could do with him now. 😏

I know Moyes has stopped talking about Europe, because each time he does we've lost.

My curse seems to when I say "I fancy us to something out of the next match."

So what I am saying is "We won't get anything out of the Arsenal match at the weekend and will 100% not get a surprise 2-0 win!

Don't be so daft, Bbn; that's just crazy superstitious nonsense..

We'll win the Arsenal game [..knock on wood; cross fingers; check rabbit's foot and 4 leaf clover in pocket; readjusts horseshoe on wall; and now off to find two magpies..].

12 Mar 2026 21:25:00
I won't wear anything or use anything Everton related on a match day, I have an Everton towel that we bought for my son when he was 7 and he's now 42 that has to be hung a certain way in his old bedroom, and then there's two small scarves with little window suckers on that have been stuck on the cloakroom and garage windows for years that I have to check haven't come unstuck and be placed back.

Only because if I don't, we lose. I know it's ridiculous and as accurate as horoscopes, but apparently my behaviour is typically Aries.

1

13 Mar 2026 06:51:14
I have to wear my Everton shirt on match day, doesn't matter which one, I have quite a few. Statistically, over the last seventy years or so, I have found that it doesn't have any impact on winning, losing, or drawing.

However, I stubbornly believe that when we win it is because I am wearing it, so I will continue doing the same ritual game after game. Let's hope that it works against Arsenal!

2

13 Mar 2026 14:38:12
That's the spirit, Mike, mate, of course we will win.

My missus has a favourite red mug that, on match days, mysteriously vanishes. Only to return unscathed the next day.

Apparently AZ only want £15m for Parrot.

Certainly off-putting that he plays in the Eredivisie and people will rightly point out his 3 barren attempts at seasons in English football, but he was young in his defence and he isn't exactly a physical beast. He does, however, seem to have got the art of clever movement down to a tee and is a tidy finisher.

He seems to have found his stride with Alkmaar, in Europe as well, and obviously did well for Ireland in the qualifiers.

Would much rather Parrot at that price than chucking double or more away on that tit at Chelsea. Don't dislike many players but once in a while a proper pillock sprouts up.

I know what you mean, Bn. He's definitely lacking in the intelligence department. I was keen when he was at Ipswich, but he's done worse at Chelsea than the 2 we have.

0

10 Mar 2026 11:24:24
I suppose a Parrot would be an improvement on the two dodos we have now.

Two boobies more like, mate.

Come on, everyone, just give B&B a rest, even they know that they are useless. The criticism should be aimed at those lousy scouts, and whoever sanctioned the purchase. This is what worries me about the next few windows.

If there is no change in our recruitment organization, all we need is another "B" player.
Also, what about the full-back situation, a need even us amateurs have known exists since my son, who is in his mid-fifties, was a lad?

1

10 Mar 2026 23:43:44
Funnily enough, I'm off to watch AZ Alkmaar this weekend. I will pay close attention to Parrott.

1

11 Mar 2026 10:09:56
Class that is, Witty. Business or pleasure, mate?

1

11 Mar 2026 10:11:27
I think I will judge them in the summer window, Mike. We didn't have everyone through the door whilst the last summer window was going on, and then I am not sure if nothing was done in January because they wanted to keep their powder dry for the summer, tough market, FFP, added income from the stadium, etc.

1

11 Mar 2026 12:40:17
Reigns will be off come the summer window. I was reading we would have up to £200 million for new players.

2

11 Mar 2026 20:34:15
Our scouts will probably spend that on another LW GB!

That, or a new hut for the troupe..

11 Mar 2026 20:38:51
Very true Br, mate.

11 Mar 2026 23:00:44
Worse than that, rumour has it, he is after that dozy clown at Chelsea.

In reply to Bluenose, pleasure, mate. I love a continental footy trip. Done a few Serie A games, Bundesliga, Belgian League, 4 Portuguese games, and a couple of Eredivisie games. Got PEC Zwolle tomorrow, then AZ on Sunday. Went through StubHub for Ajax tickets (just praying they turn up!) . They play Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday night.

Quality that, Witty. Got some decent games lined up there. Hopefully the atmosphere lives up to the hype - have a great time, mate!
