Missed the game last night due to a sportsman evening, still managed to grab the odd glance at the game on my phon though.
Bit of bad timing that the game was being played on this particular night but it was good to hear stories from some of our players of yesteryear. Latchford, Sharpe, Ratcliffe, Limpar and Stubbs all had some funny things to impart. Ratters himself was on form, as was Limpar. The latter is quite a funny man!
Anyway, if you can get tickets to see these on stage, I'd definitely recommend it.

Couldn't watch the game last night as was on a plane coming home. so can't comment on it. Reading the posts I haven't got a clue if dibbers had a decent game or not very divided on here and heard moyes interview saying Hackney is way off to were he needs to be for starting in the Prem 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ confusing as it sounded like he had a decent game once he got going.
looking forward to Monday though need 3 points but they will be up for it COYB'S. 1 Question i would love to ask moyes is without injuries or suspensions do you change a winning team. NO you don't i would tell him.
30 Oct 2026 17:03:03
Hackney had a good game last night. Not sure what Moyes is trying to do, sometimes motivation works with some praise when merited. I believe this is the problem with Dibling, he is passing backwards far too much, he should be taking on defenders which is the talent for which we paid about 40M pounds.
He is a young kid and needs some nurturing and good advice.
30 Oct 2026 18:35:50
Also needs a go in his best position Mike.
31 Oct 2026 11:00:54
Bloody hell I didn't see or hear but if Moyes said that about Hackney, my opinion he has totally lost the plot. How does that explain playing
Johnson over George *RW when Grealish occupies left* or Alcaraz for instance.
{Ed025's Note - it really does beggar belief DMS..
30 Oct 2026 15:47:40
Good news reading that JB will be back for Monday's game.
30 Oct 2026 14:25:40
There's some funny comments here. Dibling I thought did well last night. He is a massive upgrade on the Welsh lad. George also played well. Both young and both on occasion tried to do too much and lost the ball and actually I thought Dibs was the better at trying to recover his lost possession than George. I say they both deserve a start on Monday for their offensive play is exactly what we need against a team of Newcastles level. Perhaps we'd suffer against a top 6 side but DM is pragmatic and always goes for keeping it tight and riding our luck hoping to pinch points against teams that are clearly much better.
.
Hackney for me took a little while to get going. Lost the ball a bit and tried to play the box to box role. Think the 1st start may have been pressure to try hard, too hard. But once he started to move the ball, he was very good. Dewsbury and him look a pair. Actually our midfield is going to be pretty epic. And yes let's not speculate about Jack. And not try to sound like a moron claiming he's not very good for us. He absolutely improves us and is an asset to the squad. He has well documented issues but you take those as its all part of the deal and at this point the gossip is pretty shi99y.
DM would have played him as a 10 last night. This weird thought that Jack is blocking Dibling is bizarre as they play different positions. What are you on about? Have a lay down deary. I am glad to see the changes and think Dibs has now earned his spot. Johnson is now the sub and rightly so, he hasn't done much and that pressure can only do him and us good.
Jack at 10 will help Bazza and give us a more fluid 442/451 and Hackney and Armstrong battle it out to start with Jimmy G.
That game was a crazy game, Newcastle will feel the score was harsh. It wouldn't have shocked anyone to reverse the score. Monday will be another 50 50 game. Its getting easy to spot those with a blinkered anti DM agenda and some of it has been ridiculous and a lot of it harsh. I personally hope he gets the 3 points on Monday for no other reason but to illustrate the clear agenda. And its only on here which is interesting. Nobody outside is in anyway thinking DM is doing poorly.
Some idiot last week was trying to claim its worse than SD anti football. Whoever that was is clearly a sh9tstirrer and has no footy knowledge.

The problem when Grealish plays on the wing is that all the attacking goes through him. Nothing happens on the right side of the pitch and the mid-fielders tend to be missed out in the flow. Playing Grealish in the number 10 spot would be worth trying.
People on here tend to forget that we won well last night. The team was much more balanced with George and Dibling and because of it the midfield players were much improved and had a bigger impact on the game over some of the previous games when Grealish played.
We are lucky to have such talented youngster as George, Dibling and Armstrong. Yes they will sometimes not be at their best but they will only get better with playing more games and not sitting on the bench.
30 Oct 2026 17:05:29
FBS did you go the game? Because I have exactly down to the letter, the same opinion as you and I was there. Talking to the lads in the stands and my two lads we all said the same thing. It was such a pleasure to have a right winger wanting the ball and moving it. Not only that but it was allowing Rohl to move forward as well.
I also felt Dibbling was better than George but mainly because he had better support from his full back and George was doubled up on throughout the game.
I Like Jack but I feel KDH hangs around with him during games whereas, last night he had his best game because he was both left and right supporting. Also, Hayden worked well with him.
Hayden clearly has things to learn defensively but we look a million times better further up the pitch with him in the team. Armstrong is a really good player but he's 19yrs old and not as accomplished in attacking areas. so for me right now If play Hayden.
30 Oct 2026 17:08:12
We were also playing Newcastle and not Chelsea or Arsenal.
30 Oct 2026 17:51:46
No unfortunately not. I watched it on telly. Yep Armstrong i agree 100% think its all ticking along quite nicely in midfield with them all being different types yet able to cover and be dynamic when we use our subs. Next season they'll be flying if we can keep Jimmy G,
30 Oct 2026 19:23:32
Hi FBS nice your back I thought you said you were done.
30 Oct 2026 10:09:35
Any details on what Jack Grealish did to breach discipline rules anyone? I'd imagine he went on a night out, or is it a simple case of was sick but forgot to phone in? Surely if it was a known sickness from the weekend, there wouldn't have been any punishment for missing training? Or is it just a case of having to stick to the standards they've set regardless?
30 Oct 2026 10:20:39
Heard he went to Ibiza without permission, but could be bs.
30 Oct 2026 14:09:27
He didn't turn up at a training session apparently.
30 Oct 2026 15:23:00
He was in the Cotswolds having a little holiday.
30 Oct 2026 16:25:23
Whatever it was, if he failed to show up to work he gets punished. I'm glad the club are dealing with it.

Jack in the Team ahead of Dibling every time for me, last night proved it.
30 Oct 2026 10:00:54
Why not both mate? Grealish on the left and Dibling on the right. Personally I would like to see Dibling given a go in the 10.
Dibling didn't have the best game by any means last night but the lad has had a half of football in the PL this season, how on earth is he supposed to build up any rhythm or confidence with that. Forwards thrive off minutes and he hasn't had a sniff. Not to mention the fact he is s*** scared of the manager, so never plays to his natural strengths and turns back to play it backwards, rather than running at his man like he did at Southampton.
Still refuse to judge the lad personally.
{Ed025's Note - its hard to judge him because we have seen very little of him BN, we all know that if your face does not fit with Moyes you will never win...just ask Charley, Hackney and Dibbs, Tyler looks miserable but who can blame him, his confidence is shot and i feel for the guy but only him can change that..
30 Oct 2026 10:10:28
I'm with you on that one BN.
My thoughts on last night was that people who (I believe) should be given a chance, were: Hackney, Dibling, Charly, Obrien (in his proper position) and look what happened.
If DM doesn't start rotating like this more often, we'll be gassed out by March.
Anyway, it was a great result and very much needed!
30 Oct 2026 10:25:01
You are spot on Ed. I am not going to come on here and say the lad played well, he didn't. However, I think the conditions are all against him to see him perform well. Imagine having Moyes as your manager.
The lad played well against Wolves and fans were delighted with what they had seen, then he goes and starts Johnson ahead of him, who has done nothing to warrant starts.
The only way we are going to see this lad improve is to trust him and allow him to build up rhythm and confidence.
He is not playing how he naturally plays the game. He was an out and out ball-carrier for Southampton. When he gets the ball now, you can tell he wants to go but he turns back and goes backwards. That negativity comes from the manager and being afraid of being pulled off the pitch.
Put him in Brighton's or Brentfords team and our fans would all be screaming what another gem they have unearthed.
Personally, I am not going to judge a lad who has been given 43 minutes of league football. When you also add in the fact that the lad is 20 years old, it only makes that a more sensible decision for me.
{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that mate..
30 Oct 2026 10:53:47
Dibling was harshly given 3/10 he should have been given 4/10. How many chances should he be given. The one guy that had a tremendous game on the right when he played was George never seen since in that position. Get Grealish sober put him back on the left george on the right Garner RB, Hackney Armstrong in the middle, we should be goid to go.
30 Oct 2026 11:21:23
I thought dibling was good last night in general but his final pass was poor 2/3 times which is highlighted (rightfully so)
Their best player by a country mile is left back Lewis Hall, i think Dibling did well vs him and loads of defensive work too.
These young lads can't be removed because they have lit it up, they need some time and grace to find consistency.
30 Oct 2026 13:31:35
Dibling did nothing last night. Showed the occasional glimpse in frirndlies and must show it in training or he wouldn't even make the bench. Johnson is ahead of Dibling on the right and he *Johnson* is absolute crap.
30 Oct 2026 14:08:34
Disagree completely, but that's opinions.
30 Oct 2026 14:24:19
McNeil and Harrison were often picked ahead of people and they were both sh**e too, doesn't mean anything.
The lad would not have had the amount of interest in him from top clubs in the winter if he was no good. Southampton put a stupid price on his head and brought it down to get a buyer due to them being relegated.
The top clubs were already well-stocked for players and probably made a decision that the price was too high to pay for a player that would not get in their starting 11 and would be one that was a few years away from doing so.
The way he has been handled ever since he got here has mirrored how this club has been handled for the last few decades - p*** poor.
30 Oct 2026 15:00:44
It means everything, what those mentioned show in training do not bring it into big boys game. What I am saying is Johnson is crap but gets in front of Dibling who is probably better but fails to show it when he gets his chance.
Moyes said of the lad he was going to give him a hard pre-season. You say you would want to see him as a 10, so would I but who does he replace and in any case I rate Alcaraz higher and he cannot get in either.
30 Oct 2026 15:25:29
When I say it doesn't mean anything, I was specifically referencing that Johnson has not shown anything when he starts either, so if Dibling is better and neither show it in games (Dibling has played 43 minutes of league football btw) , then just play the better player.
30 Oct 2026 15:35:21
Someone else mentioned it that if dibling was playing for some other manager he would be getting mentioned as the next Beckham or some other ex prem English player but his manager is moyes who is not exactly a great man manager he sits there in press conferences saying he should've done this or he never did that never heard his praise any of the current players just blaas on about how hard it is to win a league match needs to take the brakes off.
30 Oct 2026 15:36:44
He's had one game for Christ's sake. But let's bin him for the pisshead because he's the future right?
30 Oct 2026 08:50:27
Interesting when looking back at past finals Everton have played in. 1966 FA Cup. Of the 22 players on the pitch, 18 were English and 4 were Scottish. Both managers were English. How the game has changed.
30 Oct 2026 07:44:45
Watched game in Riga Latvia - what a place!
Game was great - exactly what been crying out for - had a go.
Just wish we did that in PL - play for the win which starts with picking the more creative attacking players.
Well done everyone - please Moyes make that the blueprint.
30 Oct 2026 08:27:12
Hope you had / have a great time in riga. The market is massive, also recall taking the tram out of the city to see the giant space monkey!
30 Oct 2026 08:53:39
There are no easy games in the Premier League. Very true, but look what we can do when we strut at our ground!
Please Moyes, take the hint. If we attack we could well win the games in the league too. Newcastle are a PL team.
30 Oct 2026 13:34:57
See that! most times I am out, *I think*.
