Well another point yesterday and another unbeaten game, not sure what went wrong the whole Team seemed out of sorts throughout the game and once again our frailty showed through, think we have enough to stay up now with the bottom three all but out of it, can't wait for the summer window and the big rebuild can start.

It sounds like you've got high hopes for the summer GB, how many do you think we'll bring in as part of the big rebuild?
I can't see us spending big, but I'm hopeful of at least 5 new players this summer.

There's a lot of contracts ending (Keane, Coleman, DCL, Doucs etc) and we have a fairly threadbare squad as it is. Our bench doesn't look inspiring even with a fully fit team. I reckon through some careful consideration and planning, mining lower leagues and appropriate use of the loan market we can expect around 7 or 8 new players in this summer. We've already got some young talent to be developed, but not many coming through the academy system, so I would think a few additions there too would be welcome. I hope we get at least one marquee signing, although if that's Alcaraz I'll be happy with that.

Send Harrison, Lindstrom and Broja back, and there's three loan openings straight away.

Yeah agree all 3 of those need to go!

I think yesterday once again shows we need a complete revamp of our first team at least half of them are not good enough, coupled with contracts running out I can see big changes coming.

Depending on contract situation GB, which I'd happily let them all go, I like yourself think we will be on for a big summer, upwards of 8 I'd expect. Could see us landing a marquee kinda signing, one that gets the fans excited, hopefully we get Alcaraz in, maybe a couple of free decent signings, the lad fellows from WBA, also really hope we can get some decent quality loan signings in, definitely send Broja, Harrison back, I'd could probably give Lindstrom another season, but he needs beef himself up in gym for me over summer, there is definitely a decent player there just lacking the physical strength for me.
It's actually nice that we are in early March and for me definitely safe mate. The rebuild should be starting now, hopefully getting couple of the key targets in early, seems to be getting structured off field so a lot more positivity moving forward.

Mocker, GB, you 2 thing we'll have a big summer, which I hope myself.
But where is the money coming from? Moyes has already said PSR is still an issue, and he does like a small squad. I agree that some players are perhaps not good enough but saving wages alone won't give us the money. Let's take Doucs as an example, people don't rate him and he is on a hefty wage but it would still cost a min of £10mill to replace him with someone who is on a par with him.
I just don't see how we have a big rebuild without selling players that we don't want to.

Alot will depend on the contract situation ToffeJase, but can see us getting a good in bud, think Friedkin will want to make a statement, see us getting a decent signing in hopefully to sure this, with some shrewd free signings, pick up 1 or 2 youngsters, fellows etc and use our loans sensibly and hopefully manage to unearth couple to push our first 11. Don't know how, but just do think we Will kick on in summer and into next season, may all be wishful thinking bud and getting carried away but I'd be very very surprised if we ain't very active in summer one way or another.

It will certainly be an interesting summer Mocker. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a 2 summer rebuild and we extend a few players for a season, who realistically we wouldn't i'd we had the money to replace them.
I just wish Moyes could be given the sort of money Koeman had. I always wondered, in his first stint, what he could do with some decent money to spend.

So you think a 32 year old plodder is worth 10m? Glad your not the DOF mate.
09 Mar 2025 23:12:46
I think I said it will cost at least £10mill to replace him, not that he's with that.
Probably more, you can't buy peanuts for that anymore.
And I'd be surprised if we have a DOF at the start of next season, for what it's worth.
