Has Moyes ever signed a decent striker? I know he has signed some gems in the past but strikers seem to be his weka spot even at West Ham, jelavic was probably the best although it was more a hot streak than anything
Let's hope Barry changes this.

Andrew Johnson hit the ground running in his 1st season but again it was following season that he struggled. If any striker arrived and shot us to European football then I'd be happy, as we would be more attractive to other strikers if we need any more.

I'd argue the Yak was a better signing than Jelavic.
Also, Johnson did ok.
Although not a belter of a signing, I'd mention Marcus Bent as a shrewd signing. I'm sure he was our striker when we finished 4th, albeit with a negative goal difference.

Fair enough yak and aj we’re decent but still nobody at that cahill level of signing that Moyes was known for.

I always felt Moyes over coached Jelavic - he was a one touch finisher seem to recall he scored his first 11 goals with only 12 touches but then in his first full season that disappeared and it all went down hill fast.
But agree the Yak was probably the best striker he signed for us.
Barry could be anything but choosing to be optimistic! Double figures would do me for first season.

Louis Saha was decent but he was just made of butter most of the time.

Marcus Bent was great, not many goals but his hold up play was top draw.

You also have to remember we didn't have any money back then and had to buy what was left of the scraps. He got some right bargains.
