This all feels a bit bargains basement. Although not sure what’s fact and what’s the usual lazy journalism.
Nice to see some football last night but numbers and quality within those numbers are essential. Not sure TS is the answer, even just as a number ?♂️.

As long as we get players that are better than what we have/ had last season, that will do me and Mr Soucek is certainly that.
Going off his current fitness record, I imagine he will play approx. 38 games for us in the PL, meaning that he is likely to score anywhere between 7-10 goals. That would put him alongside our top scorers from last season.

I agree, I think he’s an upgrade on Tim and Garner. Moyes clearly rates him, so that’s good enough for me.

BN hits the nail on the head, he's better than what we've got and that's how we progress.
I'd love a Rios, Valverde or even a McTominay but we have to be realistic with where we are.

Why are settling for this, just because he's a little better, we need to be getting a lot better than this. The payments can be spread over years we are not out laying £30m on every player. Some players we are mentioned with are absolute rubbish so I'm guessing or hoping its lazy journalism. We haven't employed this backroom staff for Soucek and Harrison surely.

Blue dev. ok so we but what, 10 players for 30m plus and spread it out over the contract. great. Just means we are hampered from this point on as every year we are spending a part of 10 players transfer amount (say its 30m over 5 years that's 60m gone) . Gone are the days were a new owner comes in and you cab just go mad (I know some still. do this) , honestly think we need to be realistic.

We will only buy another 2 players i reckon and 2 to 3 loans then the aim would be to make a profit on a signing year on year and replace with another up and coming talen trying to make us sustainable, plus with all the new revenue coming in and a big sponsor next year we should be rolling in it.

Dev, it is apparent that I am one of your biggest advocates on this site mate but we are simply not there yet mate and this is shrewd business, which is what we want at this moment in time.
Don't forget that we are moving away from fighting relegation each year. Do we have the main parts of a decent side, absolutely - Pickford, JB, Gueye (if he can manage the same levels a year older) , Ndiaye, Charlie. That is half a very good 11. Whilst we have a fair level of competence in the other players, coupled with a manager that can get the best out of them, give me a Soucek in the middle of our park over a Dacoure, Garner or Tim, from what has been shown up to this point.
Soucek is not only a brilliant defensive asset. He scores goals and wreaks havoc in the oppositon box. He has nearly 200 PL appeareances with 30+ goals as a DM. He has played international football and scored around 15 goals for his country. He is never injured.
We have splashed a fair bit on Barry. We need further attacking reinforcements, especially RW. The fee for a player in that position will naturally be in the 10's of millions if you want, as you say "a lot better", which you are not wrong for wanting btw.
That means getting that profile of player in, alongside Barry and Charlie, Travers (50m) , puts us at around 65m (Fellows) - 80m (Kubo or alike) . That is over half of the budget, presuming approx. 100m is what we have to spend for the windwo.
Getting Soucek in at this fee makes great footballing and business/ financial sense. Just look at his numbers since he has been on English soil. He improves us no end mate and is a smart signing.
Moyes loves competition and that is what he brings.

Then potentially a Luis type player and Charlie for a season.
No matter which way you paint it, Soucek improves us mate and for 12m, a player like him who does not rely on pace will give us a number of years at the same level he has been at. Remember, we got Peter Reid and Gareth Barry later on in their careers and they were unreal for us.
I genuinely, don't know how there is a negative to this deal. He simply strengthens us bud.
