We’d be in the EXACT same position if we kept DCL. He probably would’ve missed Beto’s chance against Wolves so we likely would have 1 goal less than we do.
Boring revisionism happens every time with our fans. Happened with Rodwell and Kean. “Oh if only we kept them they are so amazing oh my god” when, reality is, they were garbage for us. DCL scored a goal today against the same team Beto did and people on social media acting like we’ve just let go of Harry Kane for nothing.

He’s not good enough. I don’t think that’s for debate. It’s Beto or Barry at the moment though. And all all of this chat takes away from an otherwise good showing.

I think Swan has lost his sense of reality. DCL, for all his failings, is a class (or maybe two) above Beto and Barry. With the attacking players we have now, I’d back DCL to get 15 goals this season, which is probably more than Beto and Barry will get combined.

Again, revisionism, when Beto goes and the next one comes in, it’ll be the same thing. People say DCL is class above this or that but never state what he’s actually good at. He doesn’t run, can’t finish, can’t pass, got a decent leap on him and that’s it.

DCL did well under Ancelotti, once he was told to stay in or around the box. With the players we have now, that is how he would play now. That ship though has sailed.
