Ed25. What, in your opinion is the best we could raise, selling, Beto, McNeil and Paterson.
For me I think the best we could hope for is 15m,15m, and 5m, I understand, that in the present market 35m will not solve all our short comings, but it would be a start and TFG might match it, so that, and one or two intelligent loans, plus the return of Armstrong, and we could be in good shape for the second part of the season .
{Ed025's Note - i would say £10m, £0, £0, i dont think anyone in their right mind would actually pay a fee for players like Dwight and Patto AB, just getting them off the wage bill would be payment enough imo, i expect Beto would have a couple of suitors in the lower echelon of some European leagues though mate who are looking for a battering ram type, or maybe if we could find a team who,s scouts take back handers or who are as useless as ours..

You wouldn’t get a lot because they are not Premiership level players. Maybe 10m for Beto but would be in instalments because the buying club wouldn’t have the cash for a one off payment. The other two free or loans.

The three aren’t worth much between them. Beto has shown that he can score in the PL albeit not recently but it should mean we get a reasonable fee. Hopefully the team that we have brought in can think outside of the box a bit, not just with their signings but the types of deals and try and work them in our favour.
With regards to Patterson, I would try and use him as a makeweight. Sevilla were interested in him last window. Give them him and 10m for Sanchez. RB spot nailed. Sell McNeil. The quick win is that practically anything is an improvement. I don’t particularly rate the lad but in terms of useful attributes, Traore could inject some much needed pace in the team and offer something completely to McNeil off the bench. His end product might be questionable but his ability to stretch the play is hard to replicate.
I am not saying I want to go after Traore but would I have him over McNeil with the starters we already have and more pressing areas like striker and full backs to spend on.
Would love us to back Moyes an try and get Robinson and Sanchez. January is a difficult window to recruit in, especially a striker but I think we could definitely strengthen with the less “glamorous” signings and go after the serious positions in the summer.
