Another week passes by and still no meaningful activity from our new owners on the transfer front. Mckatee fancies Forest, Douglas Luiz is holding out for another team as he doesn't fancy us, we might sign Kubo but no real confirmation on that one . meanwhile on the other half of Merseyside medical lined up for Etikitike and 79 million spent. fairplay to them. seems to me like this new so called golden era for us under these new yanks feels a lot like before like mayb we're waiting for the last minute to pick up the cheap bargains leading me to wonder just what the real true intentions are of these owners. very underwhelmed would be an understatement right now!
{Ed025's Note - lets wait and see how it plays out Elvis, you never know mate..

Just strikes me whenever we’re after a player we’re scrabbling around to get the price down and them losing out where on the other hand other big clubs are paying the price mayb because they have a bit more ambition than us. If they want £35 million for Mckatee then I would pay it as in this market he is well worth it in the current market.

Have you spoken to those players and they told you that's what they want? Or are you getting this info from click bait sites?
The new board is different to that of the last lot, let them do their job before painting them in the same light as FM et al. If we have no more additions once the window closes then you have a valid point, until then it's just moaning for moaning sake.
It's silly to compare a club that has just won the league, and has champions league to offer new recruits, to us. It's always easier to recruit when you're at the top.

Let’s hope so Ed, Monday morning blues here this morning.
{Ed025's Note - thats every morning for me Elvis, we seem to be linked to loads of players only for it to be dismissed a couple of days later, im getting oblivious to it all now mate and taking it with a pinch of salt..

And we will never get to the top blue potato if we don’t start showing some ambition and signing some top players …sorry but I want the best for this club and nil satis nisi optimum should be enough to motivate us all…. how many years ago was it we actually won something? Yes exactly, mayb Trumps tariffs have bankrupted our new owners already, but I think I’m quite within my rights to moan at this stage and say I’m underwhelmed. Let wait to see what happens by the end of the window then ?.

What makes you think it is in our hands Elvis.
We may have new owners but that doesn't mean Toffee, in the grand scheme of things to players that have other options - most able to offer European football.
Our stock is low in the footballing world due to recent seasons. We have been absolutely abysmal. It isn't something that can just be fixed over night.
This window was never going to be easy or straightforward. I will start worrying come the last few weeks of the window.
Is it ideal to get recruits blooded in now, absolutely. But like BP said, it is a different game altogether when you are competing at the top and winning trophies.
Moyes isn't and idiot and these owners don't strike me as being either.
We have secured Gana and Keane, Charlie has been made perm and we have a young striker that has come in. Of course we still need a lot of incomings - RB, LB, 6, 8/ 10, RW. We haven't used any loan spots up yet and these tend to come towards the end of the window.
There is time yet and certainly no need to start slating the owners. They seem to have got some decent people in behind the scenes. Let us judge them come the first game of the season bud.

I do understand the frustration, and I had hoped we would have a couple more in by now to take on tour, but I also think many of our fans are being unrealistic.
Being interested in the very best players, and wanting them at your club, does not get them signed on. If they're good, other teams want them, and may have more to offer.
A few weeks ago fans were saying they wanted a sensible, sustainable approach to recruitment and now it's panic stations and it's not even August yet. Relax, have faith, I'm confident we'll end the window with a better squad than we had and that should be seen as progress.
21 Jul 2025 15:28:32
We’ve secured Keane and Gana? That’s the mark of our success as a club going forwards Bluenose? Don’t get me wrong, Ganas been immense at times in midfield but is now at the very end of his footballing career, Keane is a liability and has been at fault for so many of the goals we conceded in previous seasons losing us points and matches on numerous occasions… yes Alcaraz has been good and looks decent, all I’m saying is it’s time for a rebuild and fresh start, let’s just wait and see what happens by the end of the window, just hope that these new owners will back Moyes and show some ambition to succeed…. after all it wasn’t even them that built our fantastic new stadium, it was Moshiri, so jury still out for me.
21 Jul 2025 15:31:01
I reckon 99 % of players we have been linked with have never been on our managers list, next few weeks only six left so new players will arrive that most have not heard off from the usual in-the know journalists, going to be a busy time looking forward to it.
21 Jul 2025 16:30:34
Elvis, I do get what you mean but I also don't think it's realistic to expect us to be signing top end players. Let's be honest, we have struggled in previous seasons, we have no Europe football to offer.
The only thing that might sway some targets is the new stadium. I think it's far too early for fans to be having a pop at the new owners, especially when there's still plenty of time to get recruits in during this window. Add to that, we were never going to address all of our problems in just one transfer window, it will take a few of those to get where we want to be.
Keeping Gana and Keane could prove to be shrewd business mate. Obviously, the former is coming to the end of his career but his stats last season were impressive for his age and for any age really. The age thing is a silly argument and has been done to death on here, players are able to play longer these days as they look after themselves properly.
MK might be a liability at times, a total confidence player. But if we are going to level that at him then let's also give him credit for some of the vitally important goals he's scored that have helped keep us in this league. If we didn't offer him a new contract then that's more cash we need to spend and, like I said, we won't be able to buy for every position we need in one window.
It's just patience mate, there's absolutely no reason to flap just now. End of the window? Sure, if we're in the same position as today then I will be flapping as well.
Don't read too much into the rumours on the Internet and then you can't be too disappointed in not signing those rumoured players. 99 out of 100 are just total BS mate.
21 Jul 2025 19:31:15
But when the Sky Switzerland reporter says he knows a mate of someone who has definitely heard something about a player that might sign in the future sometime… it’ll definitely happen so believe 100%.
21 Jul 2025 20:37:15
You mention securing Keane and Gana but fail to mention Branthwaite, who in my opinion is one of the best moves the club have made so far.
21 Jul 2025 20:49:37
Ditto that BB mate.
22 Jul 2025 01:26:55
So I did Brass. I can't disagree with that and said as much when the news broke. Massive for us tbh and will be the best signing we make this window. That only supports my earlier point of good business so far, even if we have not pulled up trees with new signings.
I am not saying keeping Keane and Gueye constitutes success Elvis but they are two signings we don't need to spend money on, especially when we have so much to get in. Gana definitely has another solid season in him and Keane is 3rd/ 4th choice CB.
