GB no offence might fella as you say you have stated many times that you just want him to have a fair crack of the whip and you stayed many times if he is still struggling at Xmas market forces will take over and he will probably come under pressure so if any offence was felt it was not intended I think your posts are possibly along with a few other posters on her the most balanced and we all want the same thing after all a successful Everton team playing and winning matches whether that's does in style is open for debate but a winning side first and foremost would put smiles on all our faces I imagine so here's to the rollercoaster on the eve of another Premier League season.

No worries, mate, we all want the best for Everton, it's all about opinions, mate.

2

05 Aug 2026 00:52:37
Yes, we all want the same thing and it's about opinions, but there are also facts to consider. Last season, after the Chelsea game, we were in an excellent position to obtain a European spot and we blew it. Some of the football on display was dire, players who were obviously not playing at their best were played over and over again, and substitutions were often too late. The same old tactics were used, regardless of the fact that they were not working.
At 86, I am probably one of the oldest on here, and no, FBS, I don't expect us to get back to former glories. What I do want is to say at the end of a game is "Well I enjoyed that and am proud of our performance." What I do expect is for us to get into Europe and maybe to win a cup of some sort. Hopefully Moyes can do this for us, if not then we need a change.

04 Aug 2026 20:36:05
That's a good thought mate.

I'll be honest, haven't seen much of the Celtic right back, but sighing another right back from a Sunday league pub team, does not fill me with confidence.

2

04 Aug 2026 17:22:59
Some great names there Ed but let's face it, the quality of the league or at least the two big sides is nothing compared to what it used to be is it.

Celtic used to be one of the best teams in Europe early 2000s. I remember they had a smashing team, they beat Liverpool, Man Utd, Barcelona, AC Milan, the lot. I think they beat Barcelona twice. They had players like Henrik Larssen, Chris Sutton, John Hartson, Paul Lambert, Mark Viduka, Palo Dicanio, Lubo Marvcik. I wish we had some of them players playing for us today, few crackers there in that list. They had lots of other proper footballers as well, Petrov, Alan Thompson, Craig Burley, who hadn't a tooth in his head, 3 good players as well.

That was back in the day when football was great to watch, full of talent and full of superstars spread across every league. It was great looking back, we were spoilt. Could you imagine any of them players playing today? They would have a field day. Chris Sutton would be one of the best strikers in the Premier League if he played today, and he was only mediocre back then because there was so many top strikers. It was so much fun week in week out.

Ah, the golden vision, imagine that man playing today on these perfect pitches. One can only dream.

Cant really get excited by the players we are linked with so far. Spence would be great but can't see it happening. don't know why DM keeps targeting Delap, he is not better than Barry and Beto. We can't seem to attract better players, maybe that's down to DM. Personally, I think we are going into the season with a worse squad than last year.

1

04 Aug 2026 16:50:24
At least give them a chance before you write them off, mate.

2

04 Aug 2026 14:10:55
Sorry Ed 25 that was my fault sending it twice I accept my punishment do I have to have detention for the rest of the week or is the fact that Moyes is still out manager punishment enough in one lifetime sorry GB and the others that like our current manager I respect your decision too as this site is all about opinions and what a boring site it would be if we all had the same opinions my fellow evertonians UTFT.

Toffebwoy, I don't know how many times I have to say that I don't like DM as you constantly keep saying. I just want him to have at least this window to prove he's worthy of being our manager.

If not, he will be gone, then I too will be scanning all the usual stuff for a new manager. Hope this tells you once and for all. Don't print what is not true, mate.

04 Aug 2026 18:17:25
You do call him Davey though GB. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

1

04 Aug 2026 18:53:21
It's his name, mate.

1

04 Aug 2026 18:58:40
It's David and if you like him it's Davey. 😯

I think his song would sound far too formal to be honest. 🎡 David Moyes, David Moyes, David, David Moyes. 🎡

Just a thought, wonder why Chelsea signed Wellbeck and Henderson a 35 and a 36 yr old, doesn’t make sense to me unless of course they sell at Β£100 million each at Christmas PSR would like that.

04 Aug 2026 10:25:26
Is it the cheapest way to bet the British quota teams need this summer? I am only guessing.

1

04 Aug 2026 10:35:32
Hahaha GB, you are a sharp one at times.

04 Aug 2026 12:10:37
I like to get to the point, mate. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

04 Aug 2026 12:46:45
Maybe Alonso sees them as a good influence in the squad?

1

04 Aug 2026 12:55:57
Will they ever play? Seems a strange couple of sighings.

0

04 Aug 2026 13:22:54
Maybe the way Henderson broke his arm at the World Cup without kicking a ball, getting excited over a quarter final place, swong it.

0

04 Aug 2026 13:27:31
That made me chuckle mate.

1

04 Aug 2026 15:13:37
Bmd got it spot on.

We have a very young side, and we needed old heads to help the youngsters.

0

04 Aug 2026 15:42:00
I think the reason they have signed Henderson and Wellbeck is, if my facts are right, they have a 2 window transfer ban which was reported on BBC website a few days ago, and therefore I'm thinking Chelsea must have known this was happening and just brought a couple of extras in while they still could. Only my opinion though.

0

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - the ban is suspended. They have brought them in because they had a squad of youngsters and needed some experience to guide them. Alonso likes a couple of experienced players in key roles.}

04 Aug 2026 16:25:12
Hendo just there for his card tricks.

0

04 Aug 2026 16:29:08
Then Moyes would be the perfect manager for them, you don't get a game till your 30th birthday.

0

04 Aug 2026 16:31:50
Can't see Henderson getting much game time, if any. Seems to be in a sort of "coaching role" there, based on his past successes and experience.
Didn't understand his inclusion in the World Cup squad either, seemed a waste of a place in it.

04 Aug 2026 19:21:17
Just think they are taking up squad numbers that other players would have.

What United Still Need in the Transfer Window

We signed anyone else yet?

0

04 Aug 2026 09:10:40
Apparently Norgaard is having a medical today, so should be signed by the first game of the season.

1

04 Aug 2026 09:48:41
Thought the medical was planned for yesterday. Hopefully, him and a RB in the next few days.

04 Aug 2026 11:22:43
If we sign Johnston from Celtic, it will probably be after their Champions League qualifying game in two weeks unless they can get a replacement in before then.

0

04 Aug 2026 11:31:55
We've been waiting 4 years what's another 2 weeks. Just watch him get injured and then back to square one. This should have been sorted ages ago.

1

04 Aug 2026 12:20:03
If the current rumours are true and it's a choice between Johnston and Molina. Would much prefer Molina. It's easy to look good in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership is such a poor league.

1

03 Aug 2026 23:08:29
Pochettino agrees USA extension with some bloke called Trump as head coach.

2

04 Aug 2026 08:33:40
In that case, the best players in the world will shortly be American citizens.

03 Aug 2026 23:02:16
Grealish 200k a week and still recovering. Someone at this Club needs a severe talking to; thinking this is a bargain. Two brilliant coaches didn't/don't want him. Pro's: he really is a good lad, on his day could be a game changer.

Cons: not quite Gazza in the barber's chair but close; have to play at his speed - slow; can't shoot. Drop wages to Β£120-50k maybe if tfg agree.

04 Aug 2026 06:59:15
I'd rather we kept Ndiaye.

1

04 Aug 2026 14:40:46
Bit of a difference, Man City managers not wanting him, with the quality of players in his position, compared to us, mate.

He improves our squad without a shadow of a doubt. He won't be asking for 200k a week with us, especially if he really wants to join us again as is rumoured.
