I for one will be made up with walker, Ashley young just done a job for us and he was older.
Walker will allow us to spend in midfield and up top and give us some good stability.
One year deal with an option of a second is a no brainer for me. Still rapid too.

It’s all a matter of opinions.

I’d be somewhat underwhelmed by Walker - the rightback area has needed addressing for several seasons not sure why we’re not trying to recruit a decent player into this position rather than another stop gap.

He’s a player on the decline, not sure what motivation he has to do well having pretty much won everything, just screams of a Moshiri era signing - old, big wages, declining player - was hoping we’d move away from this type of recruitment.

As for his pace, he’s definitely no longer rapid.

If we don’t want to spend money on a rightback there are several other ones who will be free agents come July 1st including Coufal, KWP and Tete - would rather either of the latter 2 as there’d be some sell on fee if we decided to move on after a season or two.

I'm with you, ant.

Nothing is concrete until the player has signed on the dotted line but if we are signing KW than I got to agree with Ed, it’s underwhelming. I guess to try and put a positive spin on the transfer though I think we all would have swapped Ashley Young for Kyle Walker? A couple of years in age, much faster and he can also play at cb? If it’s to fill a hole for a year and frees up funds for other positions then it is what it is.

Echo are saying deal ''Collapsed''

He may have lost a little pace, but givern he hopes to go to the world cup, he has all the motivation we could ask for, and a one year deal, does not carry any financial risk.

Sorry PSG but every deal carries a financial risk - it’s naive to say otherwise.

Personal he wouldn't be my first choice, but he's a name, an old name I no, but it could encourage other players to come to us instead of going elsewhere, just a thought.

If he was 30 and it was a 12 month deal, I’d be more convinced. We let a 40year old go, we have a 36 year old being offered a contract and now we are going for Walker… I hope it’s not true. I’d rather play O’Brien there and buy another CB.
