I was under the impression that we have put together a top recruitment team .
Apart from the distinct lack of new recruits, I wonder why security seems so lacked, we go in for a player, and almost straight away it becomes public knowledge, which in turn, turns into a bidding war, pushing up the price, Carrick, and John Moors would be spinning in their grave at this leave of naivety. Then the first anyone got to hear about it, was of a picture of the player signing his contract.

Could you please give one example of a player we’ve gone in for - has been leaked - and we’ve been outbid on?

Apart from a RW and RB, we’ve replaced those who left with upgrades and resigned a few key players. There are three weeks left and plenty of time to get those two players plus a couple of loans.
The biggest damage from my point of view was Moyes saying in public we were desperate for players. I wonder if we would have signed Dibling by now for £45m if he’d said nothing.

The good old days is what you're describing but, unfortunately, football has moved on. Whether that a good or bad thing is down to personal preference I suppose.
You talk about leaks, or lack of security around deals but, again, you're comparing what happens today to how football transfers were conducted a few decades ago. It's easy to blame the club but do you not think that has more to do with agents trying to get a bigger percentage tage for themselves?
We have also got 5 players through the door with more expected. It hasn't been a bad window thus far, slow yes but not as bad as you're making out.
