Mykolenko caught out at the back post again yesterday and this time against somebody who is non-existent as an aerial threat in Bowen.
When somebody makes a mistake, you can let it slide, things happen, but when it is the same mistake time and time again and when it is something that can be erased with a modicum of desire and competitive nous, it becomes unforgivable.
Understand that we need bodies at the other end of the pitch but I will die on the hill that we need to sign 3 defenders in the summer if we want to be taken seriously next season.

Yet Moyes keeps picking him. Answer me this: who does Moyes trust as last man when the big lads go up? Myko is not perfect by any means, yet his contract has just been extended. 3 pts from 5 games is bad, but it isn't down to one player.
26 Apr 2026 14:03:53
Does the fact that Moyes keeps picking him change the point I have raised - no, it does not. He is absolutely atrocious. He offers absolutely naff-all going forward, and it is a complete myth that he is some quality defender.
It also doesn't help that the only other LB we have is an unknown kid with not even a season's worth of professional football games.
Well, ordinarily, you would leave a defender back when the big lads go up, and Myko is the only defender that we have who isn't a big lad, so I really don't understand your point.
Furthermore, is football about defending corners that you have in the opposition's box - baffling statement.
You are right though, Moyes does keep picking him. Either he is obsessed with Myko, as you are, or Dms is actually Moyes.
Finally, I never said that we lost because of Mykolenko. I am calling him out for a mistake he has made more times than he has scored goals or assisted for this club in his 5 seasons with us.
26 Apr 2026 15:13:57
Course it does, it shows he knows a hell of a lot more about his players and the game than us.
26 Apr 2026 15:15:22
Need to look in a mirror mate for obsession.
26 Apr 2026 16:25:15
I'm with BN here, DMs. He is correct in everything he has said about Mykolenko.
No, he is not to blame for our poor performance and result yesterday, but he was at fault for the winner. I will add to it that a few minutes before WH scored, the ball was played to Myko wide left. He had time and space to pick out a man in the box.
He played it straight out for a goal kick. They scored the winner straight after the goal kick.
He needs replacing just as much as O'Brien does at right back. We can improve those positions easily this summer. Whether we do is another thing all together.
26 Apr 2026 21:08:06
My point was that Mykolenko makes the same mistake time and time again, getting caught out at the back post, opposition getting the run on him. The fact that Moyes keeps picking him does not make that factual statement untrue.
He is his only LB at the club, bar Aznou, who I have already commented on.
I will be saying my prayers that the only reason he has signed on is to recoup some money for him or to have him as a backup to a player who can actually play the position and play it well.
I would rather have Valente, Pistone or Naysmith over Mykolenko. He is absolutely dreadful.
27 Apr 2026 13:37:21
I agree Bn, I don't rate Mykolenko at all and thought Aznou would be an upgrade on him. But we haven't seen enough of him to judge.
There are much better full backs out there than the 2 we start with every week.
So our recruitment team need to find them. If we want to push up the league, we need improvements in both full backs as well as a striker.
26 Apr 2026 10:58:48
Hi, I have to start and say he done a good job up tonight. But it seems he plays players playing on the glory days instead of playing the youngsters.

I hate this argument of “the squad isn’t good enough for Europe”. Wild to me that some fans wouldn’t want to finish as high as possible.
Look at Sunderland. Last season their squad wasn’t good enough for the Premier League. Not remotely close.
What did they do? Invested heavily in new players and it’s massively paid off.
No reason we couldn’t do the same. Big blow today, but I’m still hopeful of at least a Conference League spot. God it’s been a long time since we’ve had European football….

Forest hasn't got a team good enough for Europe. They are a bad lot, and look how they go in Europe. Micky Mouse cups, anyone can win them nowadays. Joke, you finish in 8th or 9th and still get Europe. That's like doing your exams in school, and a F gets you into university. It's pathetic.
26 Apr 2026 11:55:05
All about the money, mate.
25 Apr 2026 22:21:44
Abject performance and abject management. I'm not posting this solely because of today's result. Despite the comments from Moyes in his press conference I think we all knew that he would still play Barry and McNeil. I'm actually going to repeat what I said in a post at the end of last season. The sentiments of the post are the same, although the circumstances are somewhat different. I genuinely believed that a European place was within or grasp given the way other teams have performed this season, but every time we've had an opportunity we've blown it. Usually due to poor management in relation to team selection, poor tactics or lack of them, square pegs in round holes and a safety first approach in respect of having a go at the opposition even at home and only coming out of our shell once we go behind. It shows a total lack of ambition and that comes from the manager.
I don't consider where we are now to be progress. Not being in a relegation scrap isn't progress.
We could and should be in a far better position than we are now. 3 points from our last 5 games simply isn't good enough when we're aiming for Europe. I've heard the argument that this squad isn't good enough for European football, but I honestly believe that it's good enough to get us there and that we can then strengthen accordingly.
I hope at the end of the season that TFG look at the bigger picture and for the good of the club move Moyes upstairs. If he won't move upstairs thank him for his services, shake his hand and move on. Then appoint Lee Carsley. He knows the club, would encourage and use the younger players, is tactically aware, has good in game management and isn't afraid to try something different and learns from his mistakes. I feel that this course of action should have been taken at the end of last season, but I can understand why it wasn't.
There's no room for sentiment and for the good of the club it's 100% the right time to make a change.

I said a while back that when we have a chance to progress, we will deffo screw it up. It seems to be drilled into the team to bugger stuff up.
26 Apr 2026 01:02:40
I don't wanna slate DM, he is Blue trough and trough. But I would take Carsley deffo. Am a big Carrick fan myself, got peltlers for wanting him before Moyes came back. But yeah Carsley plays a way, and if it isn't working, changes it, and I actually think he is waiting for the Everton job.
26 Apr 2026 06:51:26
Best post on here for a long long time, Shropshire Blue. Spot on mate.
{Ed025's Note - i wish i had written that Reg.. :)
25 Apr 2026 21:32:54
Thanks ed025 that made me chuckle mate ? I suppose I was hoping that the owners would be having a serious discussion with moyes before signing off on any more of his transfers because as he has already stated he has the last word on them and to be fair he ain't covered himself with glory especially with Barry and Dibling.
As for your comments regarding him just being right for avoiding relegation and not being the one to push us up the table your spot on and I just hope the owners realise that as well. We have the spine of a decent squad just need a manager that wants to take us to the next step.
{Ed025's Note - we still need some quality players Andy as well mate but we also have to look to the future and progression as a club, do we think that could be with David at the helm?...not for me. he has done exactly what was needed and we should all be grateful for that but maybe just maybe it might be time for a change, you may say be careful what you wish for and its a very valid point, but i must say i would love to see us lift a trophy or get in one of the major European competitions...before the angel of death pays me visit.. :)

The question is who do we bring in? I think, given the squad we have and the work that still needs to be done, I would keep onto Moyes for another season. We have made progress, we lack consistency, but that's to be expected.
Stability is what we need right now and in a year's time, I would look to make a change, if it was right for the club.
25 Apr 2026 20:18:52
Well, another disappointment. I was really expecting to get the win today but nothing again. I have to agree with Bluemike that we should be giving the youngsters a try out now for the last four games, it’s been obvious that McNeil, Mykolenko and Barry are not good enough and need to go and with this current squad we are not good enough for European football and would struggle in the league next season as a consequence. Gana should be rested now and possibly given a cameo at the HDS to say goodbye and a big thanks for his efforts over his two spells with the club.
I’m just hoping that Moyes gives the likes of Anzou a run of games until the end of season which could save us spending needless money if they can be given a decent chance of showing what they can do. If Moyes is to stay he needs to prove to the owners he is willing to change and adapt, if not I feel it might be time to move him upstairs and appoint someone who is capable of change and is able to adapt.
{Ed025's Note - do you know our manager at all Andy?.. :)

There's Moyes saying Barry isn't guaranteed to start today in his press conference on Friday. Yet he starts, and even better, doesn't have a recognised striker on the bench. I'd have had Alcaraz up top.
At least he shows effort. I reckon we're gonna see some exits in the summer, and probably players not even given a chance. Yet they will go on to end up at top Premier clubs in a couple of years.
{Ed025's Note - did anyone really think Moyes would not play Barry and McNeil?, he is very one dimensional and set in his ways, but it depends what you want in your manager i suppose...if you want stability and to not be in a relegation battle then i believe Dave is the very man, but that will include not winning any trophies and never dining at the top table im afraid, if survival is the height of your ambition and you are happy with that then we should ditch the motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, this is not having a go at the manager by the way its just pointing out that his style of management can only take a club so far..
26 Apr 2026 02:15:24
The Bournemouth manager is dynamic, and a good judge of a player, without necessarily spending big money. He is also available; would he come to us? Lose nothing by asking.
As for Moyes, he has done the job needed, and I'm not knocking the man, keeps us up last season, but my view, even then, was to say thank you, a nice golden handshake, and then some back room role.
25 Apr 2026 21:42:53
Said this last week Ed and was shot to pieces by the usual mob
{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions BB and i have no problem with the guys who think David is the man to take us forward, at the moment i think hes Marmite and the fan base is split on him, i think most managers are the same actually mate because the demands for success these days is so high, what will be will be i suppose and whatever happens this will always be my club whoever is in charge but i cant help dreaming..

25 Apr 2026 20:10:56
That's a good point, Bmd mate.
25 Apr 2026 21:20:09
48 of em GB.
25 Apr 2026 22:02:20
Season isn't over yet.
25 Apr 2026 22:48:51
Can see us getting three more points, so 50. So, say again, have we really improved?
25 Apr 2026 18:03:15
I know we who turn up and pay, have only our experience, but some thing can be seen from where we sit.
In view of resent injuries, O'Brien was a natural c/back replacement. Aginst a quick and tricky winger, Garner was the oblivious right back choice. With a number of midfield options.
Givern the pathetic offering from Barry, their where a number of options.
None of they above would have guaranteed a win, but would have made it a reasonable possibility, and if we can see that, where is the judgment of those we pay well to make those calls?

Moyes says Graham isn't ready for senior football, yet he made his 1st team debut aged 15. Even if he struggled, he would show more than Barry. Also, McNeil is getting worse every week. Experience is what Moyes loves, but I bet there's a winger in reserves, like Kingston, who would offer more. Fast, takes defenders on and can score.
25 Apr 2026 21:45:40
He played for Linfield at 15, where if you don't stand up you'll be kicked all over the place. Now it's a massive jump to the Premier League, but the lad can look after himself on the pitch.
25 Apr 2026 21:58:29
Keane up front for me rather than Barry!!
As soon as he was listed up front, I knew we had no chance.
25 Apr 2026 22:08:22
Braiden Graham looks great but on this point I think DM is right, he isn't big enough yet for PL.
Where I disagree with DM is last minute putting Michael Keane up front and not starting him b4 Barry, who has just given up imo & was pretty crap b4 when he tried.
25 Apr 2026 22:42:45
So just how big do you have to be?
25 Apr 2026 23:09:54
I remember a scrawny little striker given a chance once. Michael Owen. He did ok.
26 Apr 2026 13:29:28
Alan Ball would be shunned by today's robotic managers.
25 Apr 2026 17:18:52
Well that's it for me, not going to watch another game live this season, it just puts up my blood pressure. I will record it and maybe watch afterwards. City up next and I can't wait for the optimistic forecasts about how we will crush them.
Europe is out of the question so let's see some of the youngsters given a chance. Then I might watch them.

25 Apr 2026 20:28:35
I was going to say 3-0.
25 Apr 2026 21:46:38
Well it was said we'd win 3 0 easily enough today.
25 Apr 2026 17:16:17
Said it last night and today’s performance proved my point. Barry and McNeil should be nowhere near the first team. Gana needs resting. Square pegs in round holes at the back. We can all see it. Why for the love of god can’t Moyes? These last 4 games is the perfect chance to blood certain players, give game time to fringe players and let them show what they can do.
We have Patterson and Aznou, especially Aznou who should be playing, but no square pegs round holes. Tim or Harrison can cover Gana, George and Dibling can replace Barry and cover McNeil. We are not going to qualify for Europe, but we are safe this year. Let’s try something new and who knows Moyes might get a surprise. Sorry Moyes lovers.

Agree Barry & McNeill are poo But we hopefully all know that DM isn't stupid after being 3rd longest serving PL manager.
The other guys u mention can't be up to it yet as well as BG in U21 but how easy is it to criticise from sidelines as fans??
