Paulinha linked now. Whether it is him, Luiz, Rios or McGinn, I couldn't care less - all top players being linked to fill this cm position.
Keep em coming but you just know we will end up with Longstaff after Leeds have had their bid failed hahah - Up the Ev!

Excellent all of them mate.
10 Jul 2025 17:01:13
Is that the guy that was at Spurs and went to china?
10 Jul 2025 17:12:10
Think that was Pauliho toffee jase.
10 Jul 2025 17:13:27
Ignore me, I transported back 10 years for some reason, it's been a week.
10 Jul 2025 18:14:12
Was going to say Jase, he is in retirement home by now I think mate haha!
10 Jul 2025 18:37:39
Is that the former Fulham cm?
10 Jul 2025 19:33:49
Not too fussed with Palhinha; would rather Rios, McGinn and/ or Luiz.
10 Jul 2025 19:45:14
It is Bunkbeds.
Rios would be my preferred choice BR but Palhinha is a quality DM. Works his socks off, aggressive and wins the ball back as good as Gana.
Any of them would be great additions though tbf mate.
10 Jul 2025 19:58:45
Rios off to Italy, talk of Luiz back to Villa so we may get Mcginn.
10 Jul 2025 20:20:08
Inter or Roma Dev?
Surprised Villa are going back to Luiz after getting rid tbf.
McGinn would help us settle into our new home much more easily.
Our Scottish contingents hit far often than flop. All for it mate.

Didn’t villa need to comply with FFP when they let Luiz go? Palhinha and McGinn both too old and would want big money. We need to stop being a retirement home for these players who want one last fat payday. I’m hoping those two are just paper talk can’t imagine the friedkins entertaining huge wages and no resale value. Transfer fees would be sizeable too especially considering their ages.
11 Jul 2025 08:06:58
Luiz to villa is just something i read somewhere, how true i don't know.
11 Jul 2025 10:47:55
So they are too old to sign but then at the same time their transfer fees would be sizeable because of their age?
29 and 30 is not old. Look at Gana. He was comfortably one of our best players last year and he is nearly 36. Getting 3 seasons out of a top quality player is worth it in our situation.
What is to say we buy a 24 year old and then they are crap and we can't sell them on without taking a huge hit.
These are PL proven top performers and people turn their nose up at them because they are 29/ 30 years of age. It is mental.
11 Jul 2025 11:13:54
Completely agree BlueNose. Look at DCL. We should have sold him for silly money when we could, now he's ended his contract, I don't see many clubs racing to sign him up. A player like McGinn would be well worth the fee and the wages, as they will bring do much to the dressing room as well as the pitch. I'm all for bringing in young, hungry talent like Barry, but we need more leaders in the squad too. That's where Young, Coleman and Tarks have had massive value. Even dare I say it Harrison is a good character to bring integrity and professionalism to the squad, which is probably why he's been around as long as he has. Not saying I want him in the team of course, because as a footballer he's about as welcome as a drum kit in a library, but just saying there's great value in wisdom.

Not because of their age, too high considering how old they are. Both are good players and if at a reasonable price great but they will cost a fortune. Rather take a chance on someone young at a reasonable price and build for the future so we have a great team for the next 8/ 10 years than the next 2/ 3 because they you have to rebuild again. It’s no coincidence that the best teams have an average squad age around 26 or younger. We already have an old squad without adding more.
11 Jul 2025 17:19:26
You don't even know what their price is. Getting 3 solid seasons out of them could dramatically change us as a club. If they aid in getting into Europe for example, the gains as a club, not just from a financial perspective are vast.
You can't just keep taking chances on a young player every transfer. We have shown more than most that we make the wrong decisions. You need to blood the young ones in with the seasoned professionals who guarantee a level of performance every week.
The best teams have that average age because they have the money and appeal to collect all the best current players in the world, who mostly sit at around that age bracket.
We don't have an old squad at all.
JB 23
J'OB 24
Myko 26
Garner 24
Tim - 22
Armstrong - 18
Charlie - 22
Ndiaye - 25
McNeil - 25
Barry - 22
Beto- 27
That leaves Pickford, Keane, Tark Coleman and Gueye. 2 of which will hardly ever play for us.
Chermiti - 21.
