I was still hoping we’d go for Kubo or Fellows.
£27m is a lot for a 19 year old who is hardly prem league established. Maybe that’s just the price these days or is it because Moyes has publicly criticised the club and people are seeing us as an easy target again. If McAtee was £25m then why have we not bought him already?

I'd rather Kubo ? Dibling is a decent prospect and one who we could earn decent money on in a few years but for the here and now they is better options, very much a young Grealish in a lot of ways.

He may be out best option. I suspect based on Moyes interview and piecing together the press that Macatee and Kubo could well be among the players we have gone after that weren't interested.

He's worth whatever a club is willing to pay for him. Southampton fans feel he is going to be the next Le tissier. If he does then 40m would be a steal.

It isn't his numbers that impressed me tbh. It is his overall ability. The power, pace, strength. Ball carrying ability, control. Lad seems to have it all at 19 and has the physicality already to cope at PL level.
If he was in and around better players than Southampton his numbers would probably more look like 6 goals 8 assists. He was unlucky last season and smashed the woodwork on 3 occasions I saw. Archer missed some absolute sitters that he put on a plate for him.
No reason that we couldn't go and get Fellows as well tbh. He is only around the 15million mark and Dibling is naturally a central player. Kubo I think may be out of our reach as Sociedad do not want to sell him for anything less than 40+ million due to the exposure he brings them in Asia apparently.
I do agree £27m is a lot of money but we spent that and a little bit more on Barry, who doesn't even have half the ability Dibling does with a football.
I think City would want around £35 for McAtee. But i think he is absolutely worth that fee too.

Think he's a bit overhyped but definitely has high potential and at least he's better than what we had on the right last season.
But if he's our new RW, can so see us signing some guy from Leeds as a more experienced option as well.

Hope you are right BN. We need to sort out the right side of the team asap - if Dibling is the man for the job then let’s hope he comes in and sets the world on fire. £40m does seem a little steep in my books.
We should have purchased McAtee weeks ago before we started looking desperate. Only hope he wasn’t one to reject us.

It is time we signed game changers instead of workhorses all the time that just run and run this is why we are always struggling. don't get me wrong you need a good mix of both and other than Harrison i will back who we sign BMD.
