Great start to the season lads, my heart was in my mouth yesterday as they nearly nicked an equaliser which would have been a disaster after missing so many chances. On another day we could have had 6 or 7 easily but at least we are getting in the right areas and creating the chances.

Dibling was terrific when he came on and would love to see him getting a lot more minutes.

Unbeaten and now a 3 week break, but at least the players can all refresh and be bang ready again in a few weeks.

As for VAR, what an absolute joke, firstly Johnson was standing in front of the keeper yes, but for 1 he didn’t touch him or impede him and Barry’s header flew at pace 3/4 up the goal off the inside of the far post, theirs not a keeper anywhere who is saving that regardless of where Johnson was, after the Fernandez fiasco we are the scapegoats of course. Absolute Joke and could have ended up costing us points.

Last season KDH was outstanding, but this season seems off the pace.
We do have the option of playing Jack in the number 10 Roll, playing George and Dibling or Jonson wide, think it might work giving KDH a short break.

For me he's one of our top players which we really missed last season when he went out injured. International break coming so he can get his rest then. But he's still top pick and maybe needs a scruffy goal to get him going again.

He scored a worldie previous home game but I agree he looks slightly off. I'd have liked him to have come off earlier say 60 mins yesterday with George going to left and Jack playing that 10 role.

Changed my mind on Johnson, he is quick, he does tackle back, he does get himself in good positions, missed 3 good chances. Sort that out and just maybe we have a player. Squad game.

Definitely DMS. Work on accuracy and he will net a few this season. Same actually for all the squad. What was it yesterday, 20+ shots with only two on target?

So the fans that hate Barry also hate Johnson, but want Johnson to start ahead of Barry despite thinking Johnson is crap. Or they want George upfront, but that means Dibling starts and they hate him too.

Their solution to it all? Bring Dwight McNeil back!

After watching George's best performance on the RW he hasn't played there again (seems the understudy to Grealish) . After watching Dibling at last showing up to the Prem, back to the bench. 4 games not seen anything from Johnson to show why he was swapped. What do our coaches do! rate him above George and Dibling, there is no logic or reason.

Don't think the fans hate any of the players, their frustration is with team selection when certain players appear to get picked regardless of form.

George was ill yesterday and the reason he didn't start. I thought Dibbling was fantastic when he came on.

Johnson gets into really good positions in the box but he's snatching at his chances due to poor form. He could and should have had 5 goals himself this season.

Barry was excellent yesterday and it should have been 2 goals he got. He also missed 3 others but that's how it goes.

Wish we'd all just give them a break. We got the win but some just focus on the negative. You don't have to be so aggressive with the negativity. You can say should have or could have but everyone makes it personal for some really strange and psychotic reason. Honestly some should really see a specialist for some of the way you direct your anger.

Great first 7 games so far, ALL of the players are improving and giving everything on the pitch. Not great we've got to wait 3 weeks for the next game but I'm a happy man so far this season.

Completely agree BlueJon, so much anger, and that's when we're doing well.!!
Id get it if we are losing games and playing terrible football. Which we've all seen in the recent past.

Good post - it's squad game - Obrien, George, Dibling, Charlie, Hackney will all have there spells in the team starting I'm sure.
Think at times Moyes could be more positive and go looking for wins / 2nd goals but it's not in his nature which at times can be frustrating but it's working

Beat hull next time out and we have had a really good start to season.

Lots of the clubs w will be playing are balancing Europe too so we should be fresher - keep in top half until Jan and get a striker in.

We have got a very good start already mate.

I am away from home for a memorial service and will not be home to watch the game until Wednesday. Could someone please give me a run down on who played well and who did not?

Tbh it was a poor performance. Barry got a goal and VAR robbed him of a second so he got MOTM, otherwise I personally thought Armstrong was strong, Jack just Jack so dangerous. Brainthwaite made a block in injury time but I didn't think him & Tarks looked totally solid at back especially in air when they pumped it up.

I'm not a Myko fan but he was solid to be fair and Maitland Niles was too.

I thought Pickford had a solid game on the whole - made some decent saves. Kept us in the game and preserved our slender lead again.

Defence were found out a few times and we were lucky not to concede.

JB played as expected but looked uncomfortable in the last 20 - hope it's not another injury.

I'm not Myko's biggest fan but thought he did alright today - one of his better games. AMN looks like a good acquisition for £3m. Shame we didn't buy him 3 years ago.

Garner still looks like he's coming back from injury and not fully fit but him and Armstrong worked well together. Armstrong always seems to want to run towards their goal which is refreshing.

Jack was his usual tricky self but Johnson didn't have a great game. Spurned a sitter after some good footwork at the edge of the box but missed the entire goal when 1:1. Apart from that, I didn't feel he offered much.

Barry is Barry. Not up to speed with the Prem yet but he did really well to adjust his body and score. He remains our best option (well, only option) but still not the answer.

KDH is a worry. He had some dodgy moments and missed a sitter. Moyes needs to hook him around 65 mins if he played like that week in; week out. Why not give Alcaraz a run out?

Dibling played well which was promising. Crossed for KDH to miss his sitter.

Agree totally - I forgot to mention Dibling - thought he was immense on Wednesday and very good again today but only got 15 mins which is disappointing.

Dibling starting to look the part, Armstrong getting better each game, Pickers is still the best in the country, Myko seems to have turned it around, AMN looks a decent stop gap.

Jimmy needs managed game time, KDH not up to speed so far so maybe give Charlie more minutes, Johnson just isn't as good as McNeil, .

Many thanks everyone. Looking forward to watching the game. Great that Dibling is getting some time on the pitch, maybe we will see more of him in future games.

Carrying on our unbeaten start to the season is a great feeling. Great to be able say we controlled a game, and should have scored more but feels like we were the victim of last weeks' Fernandez onside farce and whoever was going to score a goal next with a player offside anywhere in the build-up, VAR were going to make sure it was disallowed - it'll be something else next week.

Small squad but the team seem to be pulling together and playing for each other. Being Welsh I have a soft spot for Johnson, but I do agree George and Dibling can feel hard done by not starting. On the positive side he gets into good positions and hopefully he will start taking his chances.

Looking at the teams around us we can definitely keep this going and push for Europe hopefully - will be important in attracting better calibre of players to strengthen the squad.

I'd much rather have my Everton than teams like Spurs who, despite spending 100s of £millions have a bunch of players rather than a decent team.

£366 million Spurs spent this summer and for what, we did what we had to today unlucky over the disallowed goal, very happy at ou position in the table.

1

19 Sep 2026 20:40:41
I do think it will click for Spurs eventually and then you'll see the true potential of the money they spent but it's another example of throwing money at a club does guarantee success.

19 Sep 2026 20:42:23
Welsh or not! BJ was very poor. So far I'm struggling to see what he offers either offensively or defensively where it looks like he just trots and doesn't understand where to be.

19 Sep 2026 18:26:42
I think that represents a great start to the season. 9 points, 5th place, 3 points behind Arsenal. We're unbeaten, into the last 16 of league cup and have had three clean sheets in a row. Lots to be positive about going into the international break.

7

19 Sep 2026 18:41:23
Exactly mate and well done to DM and the lads, could we have done better certainly we could have but no game is easy ask Arsenal or Spurs, DM has a bit of a ragtag 19 to pick from and we could have buried them if we had a decent strikers, but it is what it is and a win is a win, Happy days mate.

5

19 Sep 2026 18:42:13
We'd all have taken that at the start of the season, good stuff.

4

19 Sep 2026 18:59:58
It is all about getting as many points on the board before the new year, so yes will take what we have at the minute.

2

19 Sep 2026 19:09:59
Of course and it's not always pretty to watch, it is what is with a very small squad, 3 points today massive for us mate.

19 Sep 2026 23:48:13
Can say what we want about moyes and some of the players but its results and place in the table that matter. 1 0 up for a long period of the game against 10 men, knowing efc i half expected us to capitulate and lose as i have seen it before under dyche lampard even i think under anchelotti. Fact is moyes gives us stability and although progress is very slowly slowly we forget how very bad things went from 2017 to circa 2023 finances a mess and nearly relegated twice.

I have said time and time again frustration will continue but celebrate the wins and take the defeats on the chin, i am very confident we are going in the right direction but it will take a lot more time.

1

19 Sep 2026 17:03:58
A bit of a nervy win at the end but a win is a win we carry on to Hull in 3 weeks time. Still unbeaten still question Moyes player selections but hey it hasn't completely bitten us yet.

1

19 Sep 2026 17:08:12
If only we a couple of strikers we could have buried them today.

2

19 Sep 2026 17:10:31
Johnson seriously, swap him back for McNeil.

1

19 Sep 2026 18:48:47
Or maybe not get on his back and give him time to settle? He wasn't the only player to not have the best of games but looks like fans have turned their attention away from TD and have picked a new whipping boy.

8

19 Sep 2026 19:14:42
Exactly bp. Garner was absolute garbage today but it seems him, Braithwaite and KDH can get away with it. Poor.

2

19 Sep 2026 19:26:24
A win is a win at the moment with our thin squad be great full you don't support Spurs.

4

19 Sep 2026 20:06:44

Its wierd how hating and moaning happens before praise. Be happy, we won who gives a s*** if so and so had an off day. Who doesn't? In any walk of life? Get a grip

3

19 Sep 2026 21:52:26
Well said bunkbeds, some are always ready to slag any player off at a drop. of a hat, we won should of been more, still unbeaten yet they still moan.

1

19 Sep 2026 21:58:53
Ok first Praise, Dibling is coming good after a good period of doubt.

Second, play the kid.

1

19 Sep 2026 21:59:37
"Why don't players want to sign for Everton? "

Probably because if they don't bag 20 goals and 15 assists in their opening 5 games half the fanbase start insisting they are terrible.

I'm not a fan of Brennan Johnson, but for a straight swap for McNeil? Johnson is quicker and more of a goal threat, I'd say we got the slightly better side of the deal. But he's always been reliable for a few goals a season so honestly, if you're going to moan, but then sit there and beg us to pay astronomical wages on Martial or Sancho, who combined would get you maybe 8-9 goal contributions a season at this rate, then maybe football isn't for you. Maybe air hockey or figure skating.

5

19 Sep 2026 16:57:55
Upto 5th
7 games unbeaten
3 clean sheets in a row
Barry scores.

Whoop whoop.

3

19 Sep 2026 17:06:06
Excellent 3 points mate.

1

19 Sep 2026 18:45:20
Sure is dude. I was working so couldn't watch or listen to it all. How did the subs go?

0

19 Sep 2026 19:41:54
Ok Dibling made a big difference to the game he was really good, our second goal should have stood the ref says We had a player offside didn't see it that way myself mate.

2

19 Sep 2026 20:59:09
Nice to see Diblimg play well.

1

20 Sep 2026 09:12:12
Yeah I've watched the highlights. Johnson is off side but not sure he is interfering much.
