New owners but unfortunately same old story
Just 3 weeks until start of season but the squad is weaker than it was when last season ended
I think Moyes deserved better than this
Squad woefully understrength
No solution to right back yet
No solution to right winger yet
No time for any new signings to be acclimatized before season starts
We're not ready and won't be ready in time
Davey deserved better than this

{Ed025's Note - i must admit BW its not looking great at the moment, we all set ourselves up for a fall by expecting major changes and this was supposed to be the new beginning but it looks like the same old Everton, we will get some new players in im sure of that mate but we will still start on the back foot with them needing time to gel i expect, i dont want to be negative but lets be honest its not looking very good is it?..

Im going to be optimistic me yes granted they have recruited slowly but we have just signed left back malick of 4 mil short of his asking price whether he wants join or not that's a different story I think we will recruit ideally should of been done earlier than expected but as long we can add good few before leeds away then happy days pre season for me is just building up fitness so the results don't mean nought to me I do feel sorry for moyes but I have no doubt after that match yesterday he will be banging on the tfg door telling them heres the targets I need the squads paper thin so needs be dealt with before leeds.

I personally think it’s refreshing that the club are targeting young talent, and are not rushing in and overpaying for some once was player. I don’t feel sorry for Moyes, I think he has now been given the chance to build a really good side. Players will come in, but only if they’re right for the club.
People keep saying this is a season of rebuilding, then panicking because the players won’t have had time to gel?
I will use Forest as an example. Brought a lot of new players into the squad, had a pretty average first season but look at what they did last season.
Have patience people. If Moyes is as good as you think he is then things will be fine. Onwards and upwards.

Agree Southdean. Trouble is Everton supporters have gotten use to disappointment so it's hard to be positive. New owners, new ground, a manager they believe in and still they can't be happy.

If you rely on scraps you first have to wait for those who don’t to finish their meal. That’s why we always have to wait for our business to be done. We aren't eating from the main table and it’ll be years before we do sadly.

We have unrealistic expectations and want it now, where still suffering the hangover of the last few years of relegation battles and inner turmoil, I’ve no doubt moyes will turn us around and we will become more attractive to better players, for now a couple of old heads and youngsters using us as a stepping block is what we probably have to settle for.

It's typical everton. In moyes 1st spell with us we were OK at start of season then picked up at Xmas and fought for Europe. What I don't understand is we need a RW and with almost striking a deal in January for Tom Fellows why haven't we gone back in for him. i thought he'd of been 1st one through the door. watching yesterday's game I thought we didn't look match fit yet. And I done know why moyes didn't give minutes to any of the youngsters like Clarke. You never know how they'd of played yesterday. Could save us millions when it comes to a RW.

Dentie I agree with the youths mate having a run out is no harm maybe one of the eds can maybe put that question to moyes I have said for good while are press coverage is poor they don't ask the questions what the fans want to ask surly there must be something now where we have a fan forum where the club can ask for the fans opinions and us fans can ask questions about youth transfers stadium food prices ?.

Are we relying on scraps? or are we looking for players who will actually improve the squad? You only have to look at Man Utd to see that paying huge transfer fees is no guarantee for success.

Go to sky and look at the list of transfer so far. sure our 3 ins is a little on the shy side but it only takes a 4th to put us bang average. Palace and Fulham only have 2 each. And Burnley lead the way with 10. We tie with Newcastle, ManU and Forest and er maybe another. But most seem to have 4 and the promoted sides and the top4 have 7 or so as you'd expect. Calm down ladies it's really not as dire as some are making out. The window will go crazy soon enough. It's obvious we are currently even weaker than last season with all the out goings (interesting that most clubs also have a larger list of out goings) Shy of our neighbours, everyone is affected by psr scenarios. It's not just us trying to wait for the yellow label reductions 5 minutes before closing. It's going to be a massacre last week and many players and agents will panic. Take a step back and resist posting every 30 seconds, you're only adding to your own anxieties. It's going to be OK. Maybe.

Think it's too easy to get negative at this stage of the window. We look at Everton but if you put it into context of other clubs it's maybe only Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal today have done big business and they are in a different pool of players to us.
The players we are looking at are exactly the type we have been crying out for years and yet we just continually have something else to complain about.
I'm willing to give them this transfer window and the next before jumping to big conclusions.

Ti don’t agree at all we have signed Alcaraz, Barry, and most important got JB signed up, plenty of time yet trust in Davey he will get a few in and more will leave keep the faith good times are a coming mate.
