I think we all dislike these international breaks, especially this one, being like a mini WC. They always seem to come at the wrong times for us, however, I think this break may actually benefit us.
Garner and Grealish are nowhere near fit, so it should give them the opportunity to get in finer fettle for Hull and beyond.
KDH has been well of it and perhaps a break would benefit him also.
Norgaard should get another decent chunk of time to recover from his injury. I still think this is our signing of the window. Having him sat at the base of midfield will help us massively. We will have more control on games, better shape and structure, more threat off set-pieces and he will allow the likes of Jimmy to go and impact the game further up the pitch.
Although we have a few players who can play the 6, he is the only true 6 we have.

It will help I'm sure having 3 weeks off but I would have preferred we carried on, we have had a great start to the campaign and I feel Europe is very gettable especially if we can get a couple of strikers in in Jan mate.

I know what you mean GB. Rhythm is everything and as I say, these International breaks always seem to disrupt ours but I think it will benefit us massively, allowing the likes of Pickford, JB & Norgaard to get over their niggles/injuries and then get some fitness into the legs of Grealish and Jimmy.
Not sure what January will bring mate. This is us after all. It really wouldn't shock me if we didn't get a striker in.
Barry is certainly better than last season, his body language and endeavour more than anything else but his finishing is still p*** poor. His heading is abysmal.

He's still learning, you cannot question his effort. I'm happy with him as first choice, he's got 5 goals in 7 games or whatever this season and people genuinely saying he's worse than Sandro and Rondon. Absolutely hilarious.

Its always baffled me the people who moan about it and claim not to watch it or to not care about tournaments yet they somehow manage to watch it (by accident or under duress) big chinny reckon. To say we have a rag tag squad is so far off the mark. We now have a good mix of experience and youth. This break gives players a chance to recharge and improve their fitness, and injured players time to recover.

TFG, stabilized the clubs financial situation, and for that we should be grateful.
However, going forward they have IMO, reneged in their commitment to support the club in it's attempt to climb back to the upper reaches of the game, at first I was willing to see this as inexperience, rather than something Fare more insidious, in short, bad faith and a desire to tern, a big, quick, profit.
That being the case, get out of OUR club.

Genuine question, but what exactly have TFG done wrong? The disastrous deadline day should fall squarely on the recruitment team, and Kinnear's shoulders.
The owners are responsible in the sense that they hired them, but other than that, they had nothing to do with it, and still forked out a decent amount of money in the window.

Please explain how they are not supporting the club to get back to the top? Do you realise that they have spent over 400m since arriving and taking us out of the perilous situation that Moshiri had put us in?
Do you also realise how much time, money and effort it will take to be challenging for titles? Do you really think that it only takes a season or two to do this?

Think Moyes is doing his best with the resources he has been left with. players are, to a man giving 100%.
However, to place the blame totally on the appointed officials is a cop out.
TFG, do not attend any games, and have never once spoken to Moyes.
TFG, are, by all accounts are looking to sell, yes they have put in 400mill, but are, we are told looking for 800/a billion. I don't trust there motif's, and there reassurances sound very hollow. Would love to be wrong, but they for me fail to pass the sniff test.

Would you rather Dan Friedkin was in the meetings saying which strikers we should buy? Who cares if he's at the game or not, and in my experience, i'd far rather a CEO who I never hear from and let's me do my job, than one looking over my shoulder every 2 minutes.
And what do you mean you don't trust their motives? What do you think their motives are? People don't buy football clubs for a laugh; it's an investment, and one which, thus far, they've put a good amount of money into and seen next-to-no return.
We'd all love an owner who is a trillionaire Everton fanatic who wants to pump endless money in just because he's a fan, but unless someone has McCartney's number and can make him a compelling case, i think we should be grateful we've at least got one who has put his hands in his pocket and hasn't immediately sold off all our assets - not that i can promise he won't do that if he keeps getting pelters!

In the summer they put into the club £73m out of their own pocket. First to cover the compensation to Burnley which happened because of the lemons that run the club before TFG. secondly, to give day to day capital and acquisitions for the club. It wasn't a loan it was added as equity.
That is huge commitment.
For the second year running I'm not looking over our shoulder with relegation fears and instead hopeful of a nother challenge at Europe. For us to be doing that in less than 2 years is a massive achievement.
Spending money is not important but getting the right players in, is. We're doing that and I can see in each window we're getting better.
Take a look at the team from 2 years ago and tell me they aren't improving the playing squad. Be patient and try and look at things outside of your narrow spectrum. There's plenty of great things happening at the club right now both on and off the pitch.

Great start to the season lads, my heart was in my mouth yesterday as they nearly nicked an equaliser which would have been a disaster after missing so many chances. On another day we could have had 6 or 7 easily but at least we are getting in the right areas and creating the chances.
Dibling was terrific when he came on and would love to see him getting a lot more minutes.
Unbeaten and now a 3 week break, but at least the players can all refresh and be bang ready again in a few weeks.
As for VAR, what an absolute joke, firstly Johnson was standing in front of the keeper yes, but for 1 he didn't touch him or impede him and Barry's header flew at pace 3/4 up the goal off the inside of the far post, theirs not a keeper anywhere who is saving that regardless of where Johnson was, after the Fernandez fiasco we are the scapegoats of course. Absolute Joke and could have ended up costing us points.

Wasn't it simpler in the days of : if you are stood (as in standing foot) in an offside position, it was offside? That is regardless of whether the player was active or not. The whole rule seems to have become over complicated with players being offside by a fingernail or the corner of their shoulder. It'll be someone's shadow infringed next. Daft the lot of it.
Johnson was offside. If he hadn't been offside, the keeper was still not getting to it. Corners are just a wrestling match these days. Used to love watching Big Dunc charge in, rise above everyone else and bullet into the net. Nowadays, it's often just shirt pulling and pushing each other until several players go down and the whistle goes.

Saw someone was played on by a shoulder this weekend. I like the idea of just drawing a line based on where they are standing dms; get rid of all the other body parts offside. If they were standing onside when the ball was played, let them run onto it and hit it with whatever they want.
I'm sure the muppets at VAR would still manage to screw it up though.

Last season KDH was outstanding, but this season seems off the pace.
We do have the option of playing Jack in the number 10 Roll, playing George and Dibling or Jonson wide, think it might work giving KDH a short break.

For me he's one of our top players which we really missed last season when he went out injured. International break coming so he can get his rest then. But he's still top pick and maybe needs a scruffy goal to get him going again.

Alcaraz should have came on for KDH. He came on and made the difference against Wolves. KDH was poor again. We know he's 1 of our best players but he's struggling for form the last 3-4 games.
Grealish still doesn't look fully fit and George and Dibling are in better form that Johnson, they should've both started yesterday.
But it's a long season and we're short of players so everyone will be needed this season and every player will get chances to perform and play their way into the team.

After watching George's best performance on the RW he hasn't played there again (seems the understudy to Grealish) . After watching Dibling at last showing up to the Prem, back to the bench. 4 games not seen anything from Johnson to show why he was swapped. What do our coaches do! rate him above George and Dibling, there is no logic or reason.

George was ill yesterday and the reason he didn't start. I thought Dibbling was fantastic when he came on.
Johnson gets into really good positions in the box but he's snatching at his chances due to poor form. He could and should have had 5 goals himself this season.
Barry was excellent yesterday and it should have been 2 goals he got. He also missed 3 others but that's how it goes.
Wish we'd all just give them a break. We got the win but some just focus on the negative. You don't have to be so aggressive with the negativity. You can say should have or could have but everyone makes it personal for some really strange and psychotic reason. Honestly some should really see a specialist for some of the way you direct your anger.
Great first 7 games so far, ALL of the players are improving and giving everything on the pitch. Not great we've got to wait 3 weeks for the next game but I'm a happy man so far this season.

Good post - it's squad game - Obrien, George, Dibling, Charlie, Hackney will all have there spells in the team starting I'm sure.
Think at times Moyes could be more positive and go looking for wins / 2nd goals but it's not in his nature which at times can be frustrating but it's working
Beat hull next time out and we have had a really good start to season.
Lots of the clubs w will be playing are balancing Europe too so we should be fresher - keep in top half until Jan and get a striker in.

Tbh it was a poor performance. Barry got a goal and VAR robbed him of a second so he got MOTM, otherwise I personally thought Armstrong was strong, Jack just Jack so dangerous. Brainthwaite made a block in injury time but I didn't think him & Tarks looked totally solid at back especially in air when they pumped it up.
I'm not a Myko fan but he was solid to be fair and Maitland Niles was too.

I thought Pickford had a solid game on the whole - made some decent saves. Kept us in the game and preserved our slender lead again.
Defence were found out a few times and we were lucky not to concede.
JB played as expected but looked uncomfortable in the last 20 - hope it's not another injury.
I'm not Myko's biggest fan but thought he did alright today - one of his better games. AMN looks like a good acquisition for £3m. Shame we didn't buy him 3 years ago.
Garner still looks like he's coming back from injury and not fully fit but him and Armstrong worked well together. Armstrong always seems to want to run towards their goal which is refreshing.
Jack was his usual tricky self but Johnson didn't have a great game. Spurned a sitter after some good footwork at the edge of the box but missed the entire goal when 1:1. Apart from that, I didn't feel he offered much.
Barry is Barry. Not up to speed with the Prem yet but he did really well to adjust his body and score. He remains our best option (well, only option) but still not the answer.
KDH is a worry. He had some dodgy moments and missed a sitter. Moyes needs to hook him around 65 mins if he played like that week in; week out. Why not give Alcaraz a run out?
Dibling played well which was promising. Crossed for KDH to miss his sitter.

Dibling starting to look the part, Armstrong getting better each game, Pickers is still the best in the country, Myko seems to have turned it around, AMN looks a decent stop gap.
Jimmy needs managed game time, KDH not up to speed so far so maybe give Charlie more minutes, Johnson just isn't as good as McNeil, .
