Now that Eddie Howe has gone, there is another shout from Geordieland that Jacob Murphy will now move on. Hoping he moves in a different direction than Bramley Moor. And keep that useless Delap away. And if they both or either transfer here, Moyes needs to go.

Give me Jacob Murphy coming off the bench or covering for injuries over a McNeil or George, any day of the week.
30 Jul 2026 19:52:33
Blimey just seen the poll for Eddie Howe, didn’t realise DM was disliked by so many fans, 79% for Howe and 21% for DM, what an eye opener this is.
{Ed025's Note - it did not surprise me one little bit GB, in fact im surprised David got that much mate..

30 Jul 2026 20:10:24
21% was from his family and friends.
{Ed025's Note - love it mate..
30 Jul 2026 20:32:33
That made me chuckle, Skylark, mate.
30 Jul 2026 21:14:38
My opinion. David Moyes 1st time around done a fantastic job, but the reason why I think most fans are pissed off with him being back for the 2nd time is he hasn't got a style of football. He also plays players out of position, and also keeps playing the same players who have been poor the last few games in a row when they should be dropped. He then refuses to use the substitute bench accordingly to try chase a game or see a game out. We just seem to get a goal and sit off and let the opposition have the ball when we should be chasing the 2nd or maybe even 3rd goal.
Also, would a young player who is 18/21 years old, would they join Everton knowing the likes of Aznou Dibling and Rohl don't get enough minutes as it is? I know I wouldn't. Also, no disrespect to the fella, but do we honestly trust him with a transfer budget? I know I don't. Me personally think we should of pulled the trigger soon the season ended and went all out for Ariola from Bournemout before he went Liverpool. Just my opinion.
30 Jul 2026 21:19:51
Wish someone would make me chuckle, mate. Think I'm the most miserable poster on here.
30 Jul 2026 22:13:14
I'm not far behind Skylark but getting better since I went on anti depressants.
30 Jul 2026 23:50:09
I did try with the joke below, and the reason the pole was so heavily against Moyes is because it was done on this site. It could have been who's glass is half full and who's glass is smashed and we'd have got the same result. ?
31 Jul 2026 00:18:30
21% isn't for Moyes. Well, my no vote wasn't. Anyway, I wouldn't have Moyes or Howe, they are both the same, boring and predictable. Moyes won a cup and got West Ham into Europe, and Howe got Newcastle into Europe and won a cup. The prob is that's only one season in their average careers, the rest of the seasons have been mostly bad seasons for them, and as they get older they get worse.
They are crap managers in my opinion, and we need better. It won't happen this year because Moyes is staying, but next year is our chance to get it right and Howe isn't it.
31 Jul 2026 08:55:48
Moyes has a word with Trump, claims the 21% is fake news, that he won so big, should have been manager of the year. He added we will be winning, so big, we'll get tired of winning. He was about to say more, before they dragged him off to one of those rooms with padded walls.
31 Jul 2026 09:08:11
Everton's trophy room got burgled last night. It was on the news this morning. Cops looking 2 suspects who stole 40 foot of carpet.
31 Jul 2026 09:15:19
Yes the poll is a bit misleading.
31 Jul 2026 10:08:20
Think Andy summed it up well. Moyes' second time round has steadied the ship, but his brand of football is very drab. He's not as popular as he once was.
30 Jul 2026 19:42:58
What’s the difference between an Everton fan and a nun in the bath?
An Everton fan has no hope in their sole! Or it just seems that way on here. ?

Or an Everton fan and the Titanic captain?
None, they both have that sinking feeling.
30 Jul 2026 14:34:37
Eddie Howe as our new manager? Better than Moyes? Maybe a vote set please Eds? Thanks. Jack

I think he's definitely better than Moyes, but not as good as we'll all want. Did some great things at Newcastle, and winning a trophy made him a legend, but all their fans moaned about the same thing - predictable, unexciting football, and no clear sign of progression.
I would take him today if it got Moyes out, but I suspect we'd all be as frustrated and exhausted of him as we are Moyes in a few years.
31 Jul 2026 00:24:09
A few weeks, you mean.
30 Jul 2026 12:17:09
So it’s all a load of bull, Ndiaye is going nowhere his Dad says he’s staying at Everton according to reports, well there’s a thing.

30 Jul 2026 13:38:44
Cmon, mate, that's positive news, surely.
30 Jul 2026 13:56:52
Fake news is better than no news, especially if everyone clicks on it!!!!
30 Jul 2026 14:20:38
Always the negative stuff blah blah.
30 Jul 2026 16:11:38
Guernsey Blue, I ment that he was leaving in the first place.
30 Jul 2026 16:15:06
But apparently he deserves another two transfer windows.
30 Jul 2026 19:31:38
Ah, ok mate, no worries.
30 Jul 2026 20:38:39
Still won't sign a new contract though eh?
31 Jul 2026 10:12:01
He's contracted until 2029.. why would he need to sign a new one yet?
30 Jul 2026 11:47:07
Eddie Howe anyone?

30 Jul 2026 12:04:35
At one time, both he, along with Potter, were my first choices, but now I'm not so sure on either, to be honest. Everyone else seems to be going for dynamic coaches rather than robotic ones. Maybe we try a Dalek.
{Ed025's Note - we could but WHO Nick?.. :)
30 Jul 2026 12:46:50
Is that the same Eddie Howe who lost to Bristol City 4-1 recently, yeah right I can imagine a few on here if that had been DM.
{Ed025's Note - it ony pre-season GB.. :)
30 Jul 2026 12:56:14
Some have suggested this bloke previously.
Apparently, he is an absolute toss** and right up his on jacksie.
I have a friend who worked under him at Bournemouth and another who is currently working under him at Newcastle.
30 Jul 2026 13:00:10
Don't think Everton fans would have a care in the world about that, GB, especially if their manager/club had recently delivered a major trophy for the first time since the 60s. Not to mention numerous UCL campaigns and just in general a competitive team with an entertaining style of play.
A large proportion of Everton fans do care, though, that we are a failing establishment with absolutely nothing to celebrate since 1995, have a manager who sets us up to fail in cup comps despite being our only hope, play the least entertaining football around and no clear plan for the future whilst being surpassed by multiple 'minnows' of the game.
30 Jul 2026 13:11:04
Agree BN, mate.
30 Jul 2026 16:52:20
Our games are only pre season as well Ed but look at the flak DM got for losing 1 nil to Stoke mate
{Ed025's Note - sorry GB i was being a bit sarcastic mate.. :)
30 Jul 2026 18:48:45
If he's that bad, why didn't they leave?
30 Jul 2026 20:40:45
It wasn't just the Stoke game though, was it, mate, and at least they've scored a goal.
30 Jul 2026 11:43:05
I know I might get a bit of grief for this but what do you all see in Eddie Howe? Would he be a step up from Moyes? I don’t think so. For me they are very much the same. If I was Newcastle I would have got rid of him before now. He hasn’t achieved anything and went backwards last season. I know they got Champions League football under him but these days in a poor league that’s nothing to shout about. Newcastle want Champions League every year nowadays and just a 1 off if you look at his overall performance as manager it doesn’t look great.
Win percentage isn’t great and his football again like Moyes can be very boring. I know Newcastle won the Carabao Cup but that’s it, all them millions and no progress going backwards in the league. He seems a nice guy and average manager but not good enough to take a club to the next level. Anyone can win a cup but not everyone can build a successful team to compete year in year out. He is out of his depth at Newcastle; they have ambition.

30 Jul 2026 11:54:42
If our fans don't think that winning a trophy and qualifying for the Champions League would be a step up, then we really are in trouble.
{Ed025's Note - i would bite your arm off for that JB..
30 Jul 2026 11:59:27
What's good about Howe is he plays players in their right position, not squeezing giant centerbacks anywhere he can fit them in.
30 Jul 2026 12:03:21
Well, football is all about opinions, I suppose.
{Ed025's Note - it certainly is mate..
30 Jul 2026 12:28:04
Nice guy, but no thanks.
30 Jul 2026 16:37:21
He likes his team to play aggressively with high pressing football who try to win the ball back quickly.
He likes his full backs to push up high and midfield to work tirelessly.
He has roughly a 45% win rate with Bournemouth and Newcastle, getting promotion with Bournemouth and Champions League with Newcastle.
He is excellent at developing younger players and building team spirit.
Although, he can be tactically stubborn sometimes and rarely has a plan B and can leave it late to make substitutions.
But, he is also an Evertonian and knows what this club and its fans want and demand, which could be a huge benefit.
30 Jul 2026 18:18:46
I don't see much difference between him and who we've got now in all honesty. I thought people wanted a more dynamic, progressive manager to replace DM? Or is it just anyone bar DM at this point for some?
30 Jul 2026 11:11:58
I can just imagine the tug of war now between two old Everton stalwarts on here. One for Moyes and one for Howe. It's cruel to taunt GB and Skylark like this. ???

30 Jul 2026 12:23:25
Keep telling you, mate, I thought DM did a good job at first, and should have at least a window. If no improvement by Dec, he will be gone, not rocket science.
30 Jul 2026 18:51:08
We've been doing that with the last three or four managers, which is one of the reasons we are still making no progression.
30 Jul 2026 11:11:39
Cannot believe we are putting forward a price of 80mill, two players have just gone for well over £100 mill, and he is a far better player than either one, are recruitment team / negotiators are a joke.

None of us, or the tattle press, have any idea what is said in discussions between clubs. Of course, the club will ask for as much as they can get.
30 Jul 2026 12:06:46
His father's in the press saying he's not leaving Everton. Now that's a refreshing change.
{Ed025's Note - aint it just Ace, i will be happy with that mate..
30 Jul 2026 12:31:28
Hope it's true.
30 Jul 2026 09:33:56
Not Everton related but Eddie Howe has left Newcastle by mutual consent.
Good luck Geordies.
{Ed025's Note - i for one would like it to be Everton related Big C..

If I'm honest, I'd absolutely love to see Eddie Howe at Everton, but I just don't see Moyes leaving yet. If results and performances weren't where they needed to be by Christmas, and Howe was still available, I'd have him here in a heartbeat.
He's one of the best coaches in the country at improving players, building a strong dressing room, and getting teams playing with intensity and a clear identity, and, as an Evertonian himself, he'll understand exactly what this club and its fans expect.
{Ed025's Note - count me in OS..
30 Jul 2026 10:27:44
Is it Xmas yet?
{Ed025's Note - Eddie Howe to Everton is like one of my 6ft putts, everything seems to line up perfectly and i know the speed, a ball outside the left lip, then i hit it and it doesn,t move 1 iota....disappointment etched on my face yet again.. :(
30 Jul 2026 10:38:54
I like Howe, believe he wasn't helped by club selling their better players. Would have him over Moyes anyday.
30 Jul 2026 10:41:09
Can someone have a word with Howe and tell him to have a break from football until January at least..
30 Jul 2026 10:48:56
I'd love Howe at Everton, but realistically, if he's leaving Newcastle because of their transfer strategy, what would he make of ours?!
30 Jul 2026 10:55:48
Funnily enough Eddie Howe's first signing for Newcastle was a right back in Trippier. Think Moyes has signed 1 in 20 years.
30 Jul 2026 11:01:36
He'll be snapped up within a week.
I would love to see him as our manager.
30 Jul 2026 11:03:08
If we sell Ndayie, which looks very likely, a new manager should have a few quid to chuck about.
30 Jul 2026 12:34:52
If he would come to us, would bring in Rashford.
30 Jul 2026 11:54:08
Ed025 at our age you need to use the pensioners putting strategy
One ball outside
{Ed025's Note - im a bit of a puller GS, not with birds but certainly with golf clubs mate.. :)
