What’s our Team likely then against the Goooners next Saturday, big boots to fill, Ndiaye and Gueye will be missed massively and also KDH.

{Ed025's Note - Tim for Gana is easy enough, and probably McNeil for Ndaiye, with the 2 sub goalies coming on with 10 mins to go.. :)

14 Dec 2025 19:48:19
Now now Ed.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 20:16:58
Ed could be right, we are threaded.

{Ed025's Note - you never know it could be the making of the guys who step in, it may also prove to TFG that we need reinforcements come January, that is my positive spin on things, the negatives are that i cant see Millican and Nesbitt getting many goals so the next 6 weeks could be a war of attrition..

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 20:30:36
He won't play Dibling against Arsenal so expect Grealish, Alcaraz, McNeil in front of Garner and Irogebunam, one of the B's up front. Eds call isn't far off, oh and further cheer, wasn't Grealish also worrying about a hamstring. On a personal note I am in line for deaf and dumb breakfast all week because I want to be back from a trip Saturday.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 21:58:11
We are going to sit back and use McNeils pace on the breakaways.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 18:15:39
DCL 4 goals in 4 matches, well I never.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 18:33:04
Getting the feed. With Grealish, KDH, Ndiaye feeding in he could have played how Antonelli had him. But we were not to know who we were getting in. Hopefully our scouts have been looking further down the leagues for someone similar.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 18:58:32
Yep agree with that mate.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 21:59:08
DCL? Move on .

Agree0

15 Dec 2025 00:39:20
Good for him 5, 3, 7, 2, 5 that’s his goal tally for 5 years didn’t include cups didn’t make much difference, his numbers for physio tables is amazing though.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 18:06:39
So we are down to 9th but only 4 points off 4th, happy with that hopefully we can upset the Gooooooooners at home next Saturday.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 15:54:02
That Notts Forest playing some good stuff today, who's their Manager?

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 16:25:07
Yep thumped the Spuds todayshows how good Davey was when we thumped them mate.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 16:42:14
Awful last weekend though.

Agree2

14 Dec 2025 17:29:56
But then Spurs thumped us GB. Just shows you how bang average teams in this league are right now.

Agree4

14 Dec 2025 17:58:46
Exactly BMD anyone can beat anyone mate.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 12:58:07
Positions! Keeper solid fullbacks poor not including obrien as he is a CB. Tarks and Keane reliable but always expect 1 or both to do something dodgy think branwhaite is back late January. nydieye Grealish are quality mcneil slow but dependable can't really comment on Dibling as i haven't seen enough of the lad idrissa has lost his legs but will miss him when he isn't here. Garner been brilliant this season apart from his crosses which are very hit and miss. Tim frustrates me because his head drops to quick if he starts a game badly.

love Alcaraz with his gung ho attitude when attacking but does misplace quite a few passes. KDH for me is still more effective when playing deeper and is not a 10.and then we have B+B and I don't rate either Barry has come on loads but he wouldn't start in any other prem team but he is the best we have at the moment. we all no were we need to improve the team just hope are recruitment team do aswell. hopefully get a couple of bargains in January and kick on again. stange season this year as everyone is beating anyone super 6 is solid to predict 😉.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 15:09:54
Actually look at Mykolenko's role in the Team, he is often last man and more mobile as most paint him. I am not saying he is best in the league but he is not the worse.

As I have mentioned before I would love to see posts from our away fans in order to get more rounded opinions. Everyones opinion matters but surely live views are better than TV.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 15:45:17
He is utter s**** and the way it consistently gets overlooked is astounding. Seems to be that 2 good performances against Salah and Saka in 5 seasons are enough to give him grace.

Constantly ball watching and totally unaware of the dangers around him. Sooner that he gets replaced the better we will be. If we can bring Robinson back home it would be as important a signing as a striker.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 15:52:39
TV or at the game BlueNose1878.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 16:26:38
Out of contract isn't he aswell in the summer.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 16:43:34
We’ve had better left backs but I don’t think he’s as bad as some on here. Thought he played well against Forest last weekend.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 17:36:22
Live is always better. Remember when they opened the new stand at Goodison. Not only was the view amazing but you could see clearly what the players were trying to do. The movement and passing, good and bad was clear to see, and even with a bad pass you could see the players intention. No comparison to watching on tv.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 19:32:57
Went to Blackburn years ago watching someone. First time I sat high up, like watching coaches with their board and buttons. Always wondered since why Managers/head coaches don't have someone sat up there.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 21:26:58
Myko not great going forward but nowhere near as bad as you make out overall Bluenose1878. Not sure what makes you think Everton is 'home' for Robinson?! Born down south but represents USA, signed for us at 18, never played a league game, left.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 22:46:23
The Chelsea lad went past him as easy as off a shovel but Myko kept at it. The Chelsea wide lads do that to all the sides including City and Arsenal. If Myko was as Bluenose put it, he would not be in the Team, yet successive Managers pick him.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 12:32:10
Just watched our match again, we played well for long periods and had at least 4 very good chances to score, if only we had a striker who could score one or two of them, it’s costing us so many points, really hope we can get one in Jan.

Agree1

14 Dec 2025 16:33:01
We did and losing KDH was a biggy, Alcaraz cannot play as a 10, that is obvious. Moyes doesn't want to mess PNE around but a very strong case to bring Armstrong back (not sure how it works) .

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 17:39:26
Watched Armstrong yesterday and he had a poor game by his standards. I am a big fan of his but don’t see him as a 10, plays a little deeper than that.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 19:24:38
An 8 which Alcaraz is according to Moyes. I don't think (when you watch the game) we actually play with a 10.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 22:01:59
That I can believe.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 08:42:58
Proof that Moyes is back: Bookies; Everton Evens to Finish top half. Moyes of old consistent 7th or 8th, would take that this season. Think Moysie was a bit tongue in cheek saying Europe though, don't get me wrong I would take it, heart talking.

Head says, we are not quite there yet, ambitious yes, with our first choice 11 but we don't have the Squad depth. Under Brown Shoes, Squad depth (lack of) was the killer.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 17:41:22
Bookies are not stupid they will offer decent odds on us getting top eight, because they know we won’t.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 19:27:49
What I said only offered evens for Top half so 10th.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 22:08:27
Look guys, some times you lose and somes time you LOSE. We went toe to toe with the world champions in their own back yard today. This is serious progress. Stay positive and get behind the boy upfront, the future is bright.

{Ed025's Note - im sad but not devastated Pompey..

Agree2

14 Dec 2025 07:13:52
We have been behind the (23 year old) 'boy' up front every game, the problem is he hasn't been 'on' the ball.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 18:18:11
Thierno Barry will never get in to double figures in goals at Everton
He is useless.

Agree2

13 Dec 2025 19:58:08
I think people need to be a bit more realistic. We know we are work in progress and that means we won’t win every game. I’d much prefer to watch the way we lost today to some of the dreadful performances under Dyche. Our squad is very thin and we are likely to struggle over the next few weeks, but let’s be sensible about this - we are 12 points better off (4 wins) than this time last year.

Moyes is doing a great job and hopefully we will strengthen in January. Let’s keep the faith - we’ve won 4 out of the last 6 games!

Agree4

13 Dec 2025 20:18:39
It’s a game of opinions mate, I thought we played quite well and could well have scored a couple of goals but our finishing is woeful, we need recruits in Jan for sure.

Agree3

14 Dec 2025 11:19:14
The lack of clinical finishers up top has to be addressed in January or we will continue to drop points in games when we’ve created enough chances to take them.

Agree1

13 Dec 2025 17:14:52
Created enough chances to get something today but the finishing not good enough . Both fullbacks need an upgrade, just need to battle through now until after Afcon, KDH a huge loss if out for a while . We are on the right track and going to take a few transfer windows until we have the team we want . Keep the faith . UTFT.

Agree5

13 Dec 2025 17:08:16
The disparity in quality in our squad is worse than any i've ever seen. We have a mix of Champions League quality players being forced to pass to players who would be lucky to make it in League 2. We weren't great today, but could have score 4+ goals if our players were even competent.

Jake O'Brien making a series of genuinely good runs and putting in a cross that makes you question if he's ever kicked a ball before sums it up perfectly, and the fact the expectations of Barry are so low it wasn't even really commented on when he let a tap in go through his legs, says it all.

Agree2

13 Dec 2025 17:21:37
That’s a very good post mate, sums us up perfectly.

Agree4

13 Dec 2025 18:22:23
First of all the Club are well aware of our striker need. There are no League 2 standard players in our Squad. We came up against a side better in most positions on the day, that's it. This is a very high level League.

{Ed025's Note - i thought we done ok DMS, 2nd best on the day i would say but we tried hard without threatening too much even though we did have chances, KDH was a big miss and our strikers are still rubbish but i dont think we are miles away from being a really good team...but AFCON will kill us mate..

Agree1

13 Dec 2025 18:26:13
O’Brien is not a full back, but he put one ball into Ndiaye who should have buried it. As a centre back playing full back he does a reasonable job. Before the game today I would have said keep Garner there, but his crossing today was bloody awful.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 19:22:22
Fans crying even though they know we are very much a work in progress sums it up perfectly!
We know our limitations, we know the positions that need strengthening, we also know that Chelsea isn't a happy hunting ground for us (haven't won there in the league since 1994) but you carry on bitching. Moan and groan all you like but if you can't see that a) we have a better team than we had this time of year and b) we always needed a few windows to sort out the mess that Moshiri had left then the problem lies with yourself and your inflated expectations.

DM has been in the job almost a year and the difference is chalk and cheese from the SD days.

{Ed025's Note - no complaints from me BP it is what it is mate, improvement but of course there will always be expectation mate..

Agree2

13 Dec 2025 19:54:39
DMS. You're spot on there. Unfortunately we can't compete with the likes of Chelsea, etc, . in bringing in the "ready rolled, " or upcoming star/players"; we're moving fwd tho'. I expect us to get 2 stop gaps during the Jan window + retain Garner on a longer contract (deserved and needed) -quality utility player like we had in Harper, etc, .

We may just bring in an older CF from WH on a play per play contract.

Agree0

13 Dec 2025 19:56:36
Some people accept mediocrity others dont. Plenty on here saying we were going to beat Chelsea prior to the game, and now saying we are not good enough. That is just how supporters are, they wear their heart on their sleeve.
If they want to voice their frustrations then they can, it's all part and parcel of being a football supporter.

But if we go with the attitude that oh well we never win there, then we never will. The past is just that, and we should not be using it as an excuse for future games.

Agree2

13 Dec 2025 20:51:54
Optimism is fine Brassington but we also need a bit of realism and commonsense. I would have taken a draw if guaranteed today. Who goes to a game saying we never win? Nobody I know. Seen some bad performances but today was not one of them.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 02:51:38
I am more frustrated when we have performances like todays against teams that look much better than ours on paper. We done ok in periods but the 2 things that made the difference have been the same problems we have had for far too long now. We just don't seem to have any luck with strikers and our defensive mistakes always seem to cost us goals and games.

O'Brien is not a right back but is covering as best he can. Mykolenko is a left back but just not a good one. His defensive work was good for a season and his attacking play has never been of any real quality. But the past few seasons that role has reversed, he pops up with a decent cross into the box every so often but more games than not his defending has been terrible. He has cost us to many goals by being caught ball watching or completely out of position. I think he had a major part in both Chelsea goals today. A better defender would have prevented those goals. The Chelsea winger just ran in straight line to the by line, with Mykolenko running in quick sand next to him. Didn't try to shield him inside, didn't tackle and didn't block him from rolling the ball on a platter for Gusto to score. He needs replacing as much as we need a right back.

But we are definitely going in the right direction and we do have some quality players that do the hard defensive work. COYB!

Agree2

14 Dec 2025 07:20:01
Now that was the sensible post we need joe Mc - EFC.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 09:00:52
We’ve been a work in progress for thirty years now 😂.

Agree0

14 Dec 2025 10:02:51
We have BMD, be honest though, we are beginning to look like Everton should and that after one window. This is what competent ownership looks like.
