Pickford has been unreal for us and I can't remember the last game where he had a howler, perhaps the Chelsea game when we got battered at SB. He doesn't half cost us not coming for crosses and cleaning house though. No way should there be an opportunity to win a header inside the 6 yard box from a corner. Just come and punch it away. Worse than that though is coming halfway and then stopping in no man's land like their 4th goal.
How many times is Tarkowski going to keep getting in Pickfords way for these goals. This season alone he has done it against Leeds, Sunderland and Newcastle. Getting quite tiresome now watching him want to play hero every game and not cottoning on to the fact that he is costing us points.
Their 3rd was just pathetic. Keane and Tarkowski jogging back from Newcastles half. Tim weak. Myko doing nothing again but playing Woltemade onside whilst he is alone in the middle to collect the pass.
Said it plenty of times now but that whole back line needs gutting and starting over, bar JB. None of them are good enough if we want to start challenging for Europe again imo. This isn't reactionary to last nights result, it has been apparent for many seasons.
Pickford
JB
Jim
Idrissa
KDH
Ndiaye
Charlie
They are the only players that are good enough to start for us. Not included the loan lads or the new young pups that have barely played football.
Couple of windows getting some new blood in and think we will have a decent side again.

Need to find a new Gana. Preferably one that can pass a ball as well.
{Ed025's Note - very much so BMD, he was a massive miss yesterday mate..
30 Nov 2025 18:11:41
I said same yesterday BMD. But they don’t come cheap.
Took my 79 year old dad yesterday for first time to BMD, he has dementia and mobility issues but we got in whilst it was quiet and walked back to car after everyone else had left.
He loved going and the new stadium! We were in the gods in West stand but view was amazing even so high up.
Typical Everton, after Monday’s high to let us down but we were both hypothetical as supporters together for 50+ years!
Yesterday, also absolutely underlined how we need a decent striker, we were impotent up front.
I didn’t understand why Moyes didn’t take a punt at 3-0 and play both strikers even if both aren’t great, it was all we had of any chance of making it a miracle!
30 Nov 2025 18:24:59
Rock on Dad! ???.
30 Nov 2025 13:34:09
Barry appears to have a weak mentality to me.
I know he is dying for a goal but celebrating like he did at 4-1 is embarrassing. Equally when he was on the bench with his head in his hands after it got chalked off. It gives off the idea that it is all about him and not the team imo.
He seemed to be back to himself last night. First touch was appalling.
I think we all know that we are crying out for a striker and a right back but I think a central midfielder is just as important. We need to go and pick somebody up who won't cost a bomb and is somehow still at a lower team. Perfect acquisition for me would be someone like Frendrup from Genoa. Bags of energy, great in the press and winning the ball back. Still only 24 and won't cost an arm and a leg.

I agree bluenose, clear to see last night the need for a central fielder in the absence of Gueye who was badly missed, I think the guy from Villa McGinn would be good and would bring some order in there…we desperately need a proven striker too and have done ever since the departure of Lukaku…Dju looks a possible as does Toney.
30 Nov 2025 14:09:53
Said it as soon as I watched him, my son also. For a big lad he is chicken on the pitch.
30 Nov 2025 17:28:53
Dju got another 2 to today aswell.
30 Nov 2025 22:02:20
I think we may have missed the boat on him Ron and he will go to a decent side playing in the CL.
30 Nov 2025 11:46:53
Typical Everton, we lose by just enough to allow our neighbours to go back above us ?.

They will lose today mate and c'mon Palace keep it going.
30 Nov 2025 13:55:37
Man utd played Crystal Palace and won. The Reds are playing West Ham. Must be difficult reception in Guernsey.
30 Nov 2025 15:35:00
Well none of that worked out GB.
30 Nov 2025 15:51:29
Nah mate but when I posted Palace were 1 nil up and our neighbours hadn’t started yet, some on here are very crotchety must be the age BMD mate.
30 Nov 2025 11:34:58
In training do we play attack and defence. With one striker against ten defenders?

30 Nov 2025 12:42:03
Yed and our defenders must have a field day up against our attackers?.
30 Nov 2025 15:35:53
Would still go for a 0-0, and Moyes being happy with a point.
30 Nov 2025 10:35:54
Very bad day at the office yesterday! Just hope we are much better next home game as it will be my first at the new stadium, really looking forward to going there, it's like having an early Christmas present? quick question, is it easy enough to walk from lime Street to the ground? Cheers all.

Yes it is.
30 Nov 2025 15:37:36
Yes about 25 mins mind you I move at the same pace as our defence.
30 Nov 2025 00:10:26
Tim was a piece of business with villa to keep the books straight, they have now sent their part of the deal out on loan, and we should do the same.
Not anywhere near good enough, but will do ok in lower devions.
Cannot see any option but Dewsbury hall moved back with Alcatraz as the number 10, I really cannot understand why we did not set up that way .

30 Nov 2025 10:02:31
Moyes clearly doesn't see it that way. I think Dewsbury Hall does well with Grealish and Ndiaye. There is obviously no replacement for the job Gueye does, a problem that needs solving. I did wonder about Alcaraz and Garner in front of back four, both have good engines. Newcastle caught us cold and knackered after Monday.
30 Nov 2025 10:36:08
No Tim is a piece of buisness, time to move him on.
30 Nov 2025 12:13:27
I have no axe to grind with Tim, am Shure he gives 100%, but he was let go as his club had reached the conclusion he simply lacked the ability to compete at the top level, we need to move him on, for our sake and the player.
29 Nov 2025 22:40:12
Today’s game showed how much Idrissa is a loss. If we don’t renew his contract then we need to spend serious dosh as today showed we lack a defensive mf and an all round controller.
{Ed025's Note - spot on PHH..

It also highlights how much he has let us down with that slap on Monday. It was a disgrace what he done and now we are going to suffer for even longer.
30 Nov 2025 10:06:15
We don't know how much eat and sleep they were afforded after mondays effort either. Recovery especially at this level is a difficult measure.
30 Nov 2025 10:41:14
Shouldn’t be looking to renew his contract, should be looking for a younger version who can also pass a ball. We are turning into a team full of old men.
30 Nov 2025 12:48:16
The solution to the defencive midfielder position is up in Scotland go and get nico raskin from rangers in January we sold them a dummy in chemiti so don't know if they would deal with us again maybe drop the price for chemiti as part of the deal but raskin would be a quality signing.
30 Nov 2025 13:34:06
Not having that yes we played with 10 men for most of the match but Newcastle were playing in France on Tuesday night and didn't look tired. 5 days to recover with massages saunas. We just got beat by a better team on the day.
30 Nov 2025 15:39:33
Spot on Ron.
29 Nov 2025 20:29:44
An all round bad day. On to the next one.
A lot of people, including myself, calling for Alcaraz over Tim. Hopefully Moyes has seen that now. I thought Tim was awful. He's good off bench and should be used that way until he's got some more experience imo.
Also, I am not sure the Barry experiment is working. And before everyone gives me grief, I am not saying Beto is the answer, he is just the best of what we have. I know Barry won a lot of stuff in the air but its just a touch, no control doesn't go to anyone. Dom could get flick ons, take it on his chest, win free kicks Barry just can't do that. I was never a Dom fan but he was good at that.

He did it against Utd and he did ok today. The quandry is who do we get in Jan, another sides cast off?
29 Nov 2025 22:31:10
Barry’s young in a new country and team but is starting to show promise, I’m aware we need a goal scorer as Beto is useless too, but we haven’t and won’t have till possibly jan, you can lay blame anywhere you want but fact is Newcastle outplayed us.
30 Nov 2025 00:43:35
I turned the TV off at half-time I was so disgusted. Teams can see how vulnerable from corners and Newcastle exploited it in the first minute. Tim whatever his name is was terrible. Second to the ball and pushed off it easily. After the great display last week I was afraid that this was coming. Not the end of the world but it has shown how bad we can be, if we are going to be anywhere near European places we have to be much more consistent.
Was happy when Moyes came back but he has shown that he is incapable of changing his tactics based on the oppositions strengths and weaknesses. What is the use of a larger squad when the same favorites are used over and over again.
Yers and get Barry boots with studs.
30 Nov 2025 10:33:29
Baffling how we have some of the tallest players in the league and we can’t deal with corners.
Moyes got it wrong with his team selection and not for the first time. At one point at 3-0 down we had all eleven players in our own half .
30 Nov 2025 10:45:52
That’s the trouble Mike we only have one way of playing and once they double up on our wide players we have nothing.
30 Nov 2025 11:36:16
It’s a shame because he got it right on Monday at Old Trafford.
We started poorly and were defensively all over the place at times. Tim should have dealt with second and third goal but didn’t. The corner and fourth goal didn’t challenge the header (admittedly Charlie was much shorter and at a disadvantage so why was he marking a player who had already shown they were decent in the air? ) .
We move on but I worry about how we’ll play away at Bournemouth where we haven’t had much luck in the last few years. Couple of defeats away from a relegation scrap.
29 Nov 2025 19:21:10
We are not getting the best from N'doiye out wide hardly sees the ball when everything goes through Grealish.
Garner is one booking from a suspension and Tim is too slow with his reactions to what's going on around him.
We need a rethink especially as Gana and N'doiye are away for ACoN.
