Has Barkley got fitness problems? sluggish runs, he looks shattered. Can't see anybody paying big money for him in the summer, the new Jack Rodwell.

Agree2 Disagree0

Alan:

Yep Barkley has lost his mojo for sure!

and he is not alone, Baines, Coleman, Lukaku et al .

The Mojo slayer is hard at it, continuing with his modus operandi

So he's not a difficult culprit to identify.

Like a slug he always leaves a slimy trail! :(

Elementary my dear Kenwright .

I think that most of our players have fitness problems. It's the only explanation for why they're unable to perform like last season - that and RM being found out tactically and motivation-wise this season.
It could be general speed, stamina and strength issues, and/or it could be niggling injuries that never clear up, and/or chronic bio-mechanical problems that lead to hamstring problems and such like, and/or it's players being brought back too soon from major injuries. I wonder if players are substituted because they're not properly fit for an entire match rather than any tactical master stroke by RM. Why else would our most effective players not be playing all the time every match? Likewise, is our play restricted because of players being not fully fit - say like Coleman not surging forward because McCarthy can't cover for him?
But, of course, RM knows best about all football matters - technical, tactical, medical, psychological, etc., etc. - so who are we to question him? He reckons we're not allowed to say we don't "enjoy" what we're seeing this season and we prefer seeing attacking, expansive, exciting, winning football rather than "parasite" football. We are accused of being disloyal - and not true Evertonians - if we don't meekly and unquestionably accept the tripe that RM is dishing up on and off the field. Instead he soft-soaps the fans - who are, especially away from home, magnificent - by telling us (a captive audience that has nowhere else to go - we're addicted to Everton) that our support is vital. Well, what's really vital are the victories and points that we still need to stay in the Premier League. Until BK and the board make the change, it's up to RM to get the players to deliver those results and points. Unfortunately, there's not many of us - if any - who belive that he can.
Ho hum.
:-(
