Right for the rest of our home games I suggest we play a 5-3-2 formation.
Patterson-Tarks-Branthwaite-Godfrey-Micky
Onana-Garner-Dacoure/ Gomes
DCL-Beto
Get the fullbacks forward both can cross the ball better than the two "wingers"? We have.

Agree.

why can no fans actually spell Doucoure?

even when you pronounce it you don't pronounce it Dacoure ahahahah.

Does it really matter? Think there’s more things to worry about don’t you?
Oh and it’s not Doucoure, it’s useless fecker.

Agree Woburn that changes need to be made and whilst all our opinions are subjective but here’s my 5 pennies worth.
If Sean and his coaching team had the ability to read the game in real time it would certainly help, although he did make substitutions early against United, its blatantly obvious the speed of play in transition is woeful and players need to undergo special reaction training to prevent the basic mistakes that gifted two penalties. Drawing on a golf analogy, If Tiger Woods can stop his 120+ mph golf swing before contact with the ball in a fraction of a second, both Tarkowski and Godfrey had the time to pull out of penalised tackles.
Godfrey is a square peg in a round hole, whilst his strength is his speed he has very poor positional sense in defending and offers nothing going forward. I
Why Patterson who is a much better option is continually overlooked is worrying. He provides better defensive play and the athleticism and ball skills to break and cross dangerous balls as does Coleman.
We are far too slow in our build up play, this was exemplified by Dwight McNeill constantly either passing back or cutting inside and running with the ball across the pitch when he had passing options, with players in space, but by the time he decides to pass the ball United had regrouped and closed down his team mates. I can’t remember him taking on Dalot on the outside.
It was drilled into me at an early age that the ball travels faster than the player.
I would therefore prefer to see the existing 4-4-1-1 team setup with a midfield of Garner, Gueye, Onana and McNeil with Doucoure in the advanced role, although he is nowhere near the form displayed before his hamstrings
Injuries, with DCL always my preference over Beto
Garner is then in position to cover for Pattersons when he offers an attacking option.
Dobbin should be given sufficient game time to offer an option wide left or AMF should the game need changing, offering more pace and directness to freshen things up.
It’s worrying that Sean is now saying that the under 21’s are not ready for first team consideration when our neighbours seem to have an unending supply of youngsters who come in and perform admirably. Questions need to be asked why?
I still feel Ellis Simms offered a lot more, in every skill aspect than Beto but wasn’t really given a fair chance even after scoring a good goal against Chelsea away in the brief appearances afforded to him. Yet we sold him for £7m and are spending £25m for Beto.
What is absolutely necessary, irrespective of our Premiership status, is that a complete and ruthless shakeup needs to take place, which may be forced on us and I hope Thelwell is scouring the various leagues identifying additions and replacements for a number of the current first team squad.
