I've never been in a position to own/ run a football club, so accept that different people will have different approaches and have better insight and experience,
However, while BK's enthusiasm (he still acts like a fan) is engaging and his steadfast loyalty to his appointed managers is honourable, I think I would prefer my club to be owned/ run by hard-headed businessmen who judge by results on and off the field rather than wishful thinking.
I don't doubt that BK has made some tough decisions behind the scenes - especially to bring us out of the financial mess lef t by the Agent Johnson era - but his gushing praise of RM (a serial loser) strains credulity.
I just hope that FM is wearing the dark glasses when RM uses the MIB neuralyzer when trying to explain the derby debacle and the semi-final result.
The RM experiment has now had three years and the promise of the first season has not been progressed upon - we're actually going backwards. For all his attacking philosophy and good player recruitment and development of young players, RM's approach is clearly flawed - he doesn't value clean sheets, he doesn't work on set-pieces, he puts square pegs in round holes, the players' fitness is questionable, his lack of tactical flexibility (no, Plan B or C or D) , his inability to close out winning positions (poor game management) , his lack of defensive pragmatism (not kicking the ball into Row Z, but faffing about in the box) , etc., etc.
Whar on Earth does BK - let alone FM - see in RM to believe things will improve under him?
{Ed025's Note - i dont think they do to be honest sid, BK was put on the spot with that impromptu question and was not likely to say "our manager is crap and getting fired next week" just before a cup semi at wembley, as you rightly say we dont know what goes on behind the scenes mate..
