I'm a massive Seamus Coleman supporter and I think he has been fabulous for us for 10 years now. I was also pushing for him to be captain this season but I saw something that I hadn't been aware of in the tunnel prior to him leading us out yesterday. He was completely 'zoned out' focused on his performance.
This is probably what he has always been, a complete professional who needs to be that way to get the best out of himself and, god bless him, it has worked for him and Everton for all these years and I wouldn't want to change the man one bit.
It has given me doubts though that he is the best captain for the side. I saw a focussed, dedicated professional but I didn't see someone who was motivating his team mates, getting them to pull together and work as a team. Rightly or wrongly I now have doubts whether he is the best captain for the side but again - what a player he has been for us.

Hi bw mate I see what you mean Seamus hasn't been up to his best in the last couple of games but hey he is an excellent footballer and will bounce back of that I am sure.
