Ahhhhhh billy. He was technically very gifted. I remember watching him in Europa match at Goodison he played some unbelievable passes. Scored a couple of great goals but just wasn't cut out for English football. That's the worry with any signing though isn't it? I remember wetting my pants when we signed Ibrahima Bakayoko the greatest champ manager player of all time. How did he when out

{Ed003's Note - tonton zola moukoko was the best champ manager player :) }

Djibril Cisse was the man to have in my day. True world beater in real life ;-)

{Ed003's Note - haha you should take this convo to the video games page I'm sure many more could share their memories as well.}

We did play Billy in the wrong position.
That was playing him on the pitch when he should've been in the stands, and just to make matters worse we asked him to run, chase back and tackle, after which Billy looked so confused that he threw his toys out of the pram!

Billy had a great left peg apart from that he was awful! Makes mcgeedy look like messy! Nah I think I might be exaggerating a bit there like but u get my point

Unfortunately for Billy he was bought when DM wanted workhorses. He would be an ideal 10 in RM's system. its just a mater of wrong time wrong place.

On the cm front I would go with Mark Kerr as the overall best player, he could play consistently at any level as a MF in all formations from the start of the game to his retirement. TMZ required development for a couple of seasons and a formation that suited his style of play.

I remember an interview with Billy, he said that playing in England was like being in a washing machine, loved it. Never forget that goal against Utd though
