Right, thought I would Google this Ramiro Funes Mori, I have to admit, I was shocked, not because of anything concerning him, mostly, I was shocked because yet again it was all about Stones. First one from the Express and another from the Star. Both basically copying the other. We are signing Mori as a replacement for Stones, the Express have done this story and they have NOTHING, no sources, no nothing, they just assume Chelsea are closing in on Stones (remember that headline). The Star ran a similar story, almost the exact same, same pictures and same stuff. Their headline is Stones closing in on Chelsea move, wow, one switch around and they assume it makes it original. But you will love this, something worse than no source? A bad source. Apart from the usual 'well Everton have set Stones' price to 40m' (again, no source, everyone is running that bs and expect because it is repeated that it is a forgone conclusion). So after all this you're probablyb wondering 'who is the bad source', the Star's source, wait for it, is ANDY GRAY, their whole basis for Stones going to Chelsea is because a former player who has shown himself to be stupid which is why he was sacked but is well known to have a dislike towards Everton whenever he opens his mouth about us. The funny thing is, all he said was he will be shocked if Stones is still here at the end of August as Everton cannot reject 35m. So again, their big source and reasoning for Stones definitely leaving is a bias former player with not only no inside knowledge, but also clearly hasn't watched Football nor paid attention to ANYTHING that has happened this summer. Journalism at its finest, brilliant, unbelievable actually just how desperate these papers are for Stones to go.

I will be surprised if we let him go for anything less than 100m Swan, after all there are that many pundits that are on a percentage of the fee for getting him to Chelsea!
Think the two rags you mentioned are produced by the same people, their stories are always nearly identical.

Bbc are one of the only ones reporting that Mori will be a replacement for alcaraz and distin rather than stones, joke how the media have reported the situation

Swan thanks for the informative post, most of the papers ply us with bull most of the time but thanks for spending a bit of time and effort confirming what most of us thought.

Using Andy Gray as the source just goes to prove that these media outlets will do and say anything to boost sales. Personally taking notice from a booze addled, sexist, chauvinistic has been such as Gray just enhances the media's desperation.
