To state the obvious, Roberto Martinez is a dead man walking as Everton manager.
When he joined us, I was pleased - and even more so after his first season - but his second and third seasons have shown us going backwards, so he must be replaced.
By the time that David Moyes left, I had become disenchanted with his "knife to a gunfight" attitude. I was also very unhappy with the manner of how he left. However, I'd be content to see him come back and use the new investment to ensure he's no longer outgunned in matches against the wealthier sides.
I've no idea if DM would prove himself a winner second time around - and my initial backing for RM shows how poor my judgement is (! ) - but he'd surely do better with the players available to him than RM has these last two years.
Having said that, I'd be content with most of the other "names" being touted for Everton manager. I clearly don't know enough to be sure who'd be best for Everton.
What I no longer want - even with FA Cup success - is for RM to be kept on for next season.

With money Moyes can win things and get us to Champs league, last time he did as well as could under the financial restraints he had.
He was my choice when Smith was sacked and is my choice now, it will take a couple of years to rebuild so give this great manager time, he is very underated by blue fans.

I'm not sure how many people who post on here go to the game but the booing was there for Moyes most home games as well.

People used to scream at him for his constant defensive substitutions and him settling for draws instead of trying for the win.

That didn't change at his next two clubs and the reason he didn't win enough and got sacked. Twice.

He also couldn't attract players at Man United when he had money and before you say Mata, this was only because he was hated by Mourinho. If we put a bid in for him at the time we probably could have got him. He was desperate to leave.

We need new blood at the club. Not the dour Moyes who is defensive to the extreme or a Martinez who is the total opposite. We need someone who has bread winners and can also attract them.

{Ed025's Note - im with you john..

Where you at Moysey's last game John? Have you looked at his league finishing positions and he did it with a net profit on transfares a great over achiever.
You sound like a bitter blue because he went to Man United, I bet you hate Rooney to.

Sorry to appear like Ed002 but the guy is a realist and by inclination so am I, my take on the Martinez situation is that it will take something far more catastrophic than an 11th place finish and two semi-final appearances to shift him. I like many others would like him gone but perhaps the board have fallen for the waffle of this is a Team in transition.

Like everything in history Moyes has had his stint did fantastic and left us to move on, that failed as did his next venture, he is destined for Celtic, please do not try and turn the clock back it does not work! It didn't for the great Howard Kendall it will not for Moyes even with £100m.
Move on and look forward Not back!
There are loads of potentials out there please please open your eyes and your minds and stop being so insular, not Big Dunc not Rhino the world is full of talent let's discover it as so many other clubs do!

{Ed025's Note - i like your way of thinking wakka mate..
