Having missed the game in my home town as I'm on holiday, I've just watched the highlights and thought I had to make a few comments.

I know it's easy to knock our lads and the manager at the moment, and it's true that there is still a lot of work to do, but I think we were unlucky there.

The tug on Sigs was a blatant penalty - Brighton look a really dirty team and they got away with a lot - the Knockheart foul on Kev was a disgrace - the FA love introducing new rules every season - how is a foul like that not a red card offence? not an attempt at winning the ball. He gets MOTM for that.

The elbow on Calvert-Lewin was shocking - he sized it up, wasn't even looking at the ball - a grown man assaulting a kid. How he was still on the pitch I don't know.

We still have a long way to go, but there are signs of good football - we need to get behind these lads. COYB!

The elbow was purely assault BT. Looking straight at the player with complete intent to hurt him.

{Ed025's Note - your right pierre he wasn,t even looking at the ball, he was bullying a young kid and thats where you need a big dunc type in the team to grab him by the throat and shake him, im not condoning violence but you look after your own and that encourages team bonding knowing you will have your team mates to back you up mate..

I share that view, Ed. I don't condone violence on the pitch, but after that takedown on DCL this is the only time I can think of where Joey Barton would be handy to have around. At least good to see Jags step in and have a word.

{Ed025's Note - i was happy to see jags step in OHEFB but with the severity of it i would have expected a stronger response from the other players to be honest..

Sadly, Ed, I think that speaks volumes about the current negative mindset infiltrating the whole squad. Under Moyes and even Martinez, the likes of Baines, Jags etc wouldn't be afraid to make it be known they weren't happy with a bad tackle. I don't understand how we can have brought in so many 'leaders': Rooney, Sig, Klassen, Williams, etc yet not one of them can lead. Is it also telling that Jags, who has perhaps been out of the first 11 more than the regular starters, seems less affected by the malaise? Something is seriously rotten behind the scenes. Koeman isn't from Rotterdam by any chance is he?

{Ed025's Note - your right mate about a lack of a leader, on or off the pitch..
