Sorry to say it but if allerdyce come in then I will never step foot in goodison again even after he has left I will be finished with football altogether this club stinks to high heaven if this happens it will be golf for me full time I'm afraid I will stop watching football altogether.

I'm with you skylark. Never liked the arrogant tosser. I can't be a hypocrite and start cheering him.66yrs and I am done. Won't even watch them on the television. Golf and rugby for me.

{Ed025's Note - i think we all know my position on allardyce dylan, i cant stand the guy and think he is totally wrong for the club, my problem is though that im a an evertonian first and foremost and whatever comes or goes i cannot stop supporting my club, am i happy hes coming?..absolutely not, will i be chanting his name if he does well?...no way, he epitomizes everything i despise about football and presume and hope this is a temporary measure to stabilize the club then make way for a proper coach and decent person to come in next summer, but if he gets the gig for an extended period then i may have to rethink my options mate..

walter smith, billy bingham tested my loyalty when they were appointed many moons ago and if big sam does end up here i will not be pleased. however you got to do what you got to do. i don't think any top class manager would touch us now, plus we need stability and dare i say it he would bring that. hopefully it's just rag talk, but i'm not holding my breath waiting on the likes tuchel or silva.
once a blue always a blue, it's in your blood.

{Ed025's Note - im in the same predicament leinster, i remember the depression of the gordon lee era as well mate which took me to the brink, it can be very hard being an evertonian at times..

Maybe its easier for me to say because I'm not a fan but I disagree with the first post. If your a proper fan you'll support them through anything.

I agree should he be appointed it's terrible for your club it's going backwards if that is the case and I understand the frustration but you are after all a fan? just because thing's are looking pretty terrible it doesn't mean you suddenly stop been a fan? I don't understand that to be honest.

I do sympathise with you as Everton fans at this moment in time because what's going on is just one thing after another and it's dragging your club through dirt.

Point is no matter what happens at a club, if your a TRUE fan your a fan, you support them no matter what. There's tons of stuff over the years I haven't been happy with at Liverpool but never have I once even thought of not supporting them anymore or the sport because of it, sometimes you just have to get on with it however difficult it is.

Please understand I'm not having a dig or anything I'm just saying I thought it's a bit harsh that's all.

i'm with you on that ed.

07 Nov 2017 08:03:41
Good, post ed. I've been through all the managers mentioned. Stood in boys pen watching Pickering, Young, etc. Goodison and Everton will always be in my blood. I was willing to give him a chance when he got the England job because he appeared to want it so bad. Then his greed raised its ugly head. let's see who they appoint.

{Ed025's Note - i expect it to be allardyce dylan..

07 Nov 2017 08:06:11
I'd rather unsworth got the job than that man. I think he may have turned a corner. it's really testing me. I said I wouldn't set foot in ground if he comes. I'm dithering now. but he is everything wrong with football.

07 Nov 2017 08:14:47
Cheers Ed if true I'm done. I am a blue always will be. If you cut me ill bleed blue. I've really enjoys reading the comments on here over the years. Also the eds comments which have been very knowledgeable. If your right about his appointment I will be gutted. It will be cheers and good bye from me.

{Ed025's Note - im sorry to hear that dylan, i do know how you feel though and im hopeful that this is a purely temporary measure and that this charletan will be ditched when a suitable applicant is found mate..

I love our club and cannot stop supporting us but will have such a bitter taste of he comes in. Not a bad manager by all accounts but his outside of football behaviour was atrocious.

07 Nov 2017 08:52:26
Bye, I will follow the blues whatever.

07 Nov 2017 09:25:26
Good for you gtl. Total respect each to their own though. The thought of him with Everton badge on his chest on the touchline is not for me.

07 Nov 2017 10:23:15
glt59 = a true fan!

07 Nov 2017 10:30:40
on talksport now, allardyce saying he hasn't spoken to moshiri.

07 Nov 2017 11:08:45
I think we may just get a surprise appointment, knowing the way EFC work we never seem to get the favourite with the boookies whether that be a player or a manager. Hopefully it will not be Allardyce as i agree with most above and maybe the win at Watford might just be the points we needed to persuade Moshiri that we do not need to panic appoint.
God forbid if he does come we don't guarantee him a big budget in January to buy his type of players because that will take seasons to rectify.

07 Nov 2017 15:35:49
Ive supported us for over 50 years. Good times and bad, great managers and fools, brilliant players and donkeys. They've all come and gone and I am still here. So stop all the moaning about who is in charge because we support the club not any particular man, and in all those 50 years I've never been consulted over appointments or signings and I've loved every minute of it. And i would rather watch some of the dross currently being served up than any amount of pretty stuff the others do because we are EVERTON.

07 Nov 2017 15:38:19
For me he is everything Everton is not. I hope to God to doesn't get it. Anyone out there would be my choice before him. Such a lack of ambition if it is him.

Then on top of that I've got to sit there watching utter rubbish football. We'll forget what the grass looks like looking up at the sky for 90 minutes.

07 Nov 2017 16:20:41
Got to admit that I'm having the same thoughts, not sure if I will go to the games if SA gets the job. Will just have to find a mug to take my season ticket! He's a pompous, over-hyped, over-rated manager and is a bit greedy when it comes to making a few quid on the side. If we have any aspirations to eventually break the top four then this is a few steps backwards.
Corleone, I get what you are saying but disagree entirely. I know you don't visit our site to wind people up and you usually have valid points so there is a healthy level of respect from us to yourself. That said, I class myself as a fan and have been since I was a kid, first game in '82. I'm lucky that I've seen us achieve success but I've also seen some tripe, both managers and players. Walker was a poor appointment, no question about it. I felt a bit sorry for Smith as he had to work under one of the worst chairmen in our history. Little cash to spend and players sold behind his back. Moyes did well but let himself down the moment he left with his comments and derisory bids for our players. For me, fat Sam would be like going back in time, his style of football is dull and boring his reluctance to play kids goes against everything that our club stands for. So I will be forced to think long and hard whether or not I want to spend my time watching such dross that he tends to serve up. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan, I will still look out for my team just maybe not from my usual seat. If we had ten games left and in trouble I may have a different outlook on this man, given his track record at escaping relegation. It's far too early to believe we will be in the mire, although we still need to improve our form, or to call for such desperate measures as employing fireman sam in my opinion!

07 Nov 2017 16:49:41
Good post. My sentiments exactly.

08 Nov 2017 01:26:37
Leeds unt, have been trying to get back to the top flight for 16 years, sheffild wed, n/ forest, Derby, and Sunderland look like they may drop to div one, even Villa, might not make it back.
So, even though Allerdice cannot be certain to keep us up, I think some of the football purests should consider the fact that with relagation the whol dream, new ground and all, would come tumberling down, so, with respect to many other posters, I would take Sam in a heartbeat.
