I have a question that ed002 could possibly answer. I have read today an article about Chelsea's new stadium which is estimated to be 60,000 seater and it is claimed will cost around 1 Billion to build looking at it from outside with little to no real understanding of how the costing works how is their stadium going to cost 500 mil more than ours will cost considering ours should be a similar sort of build in regards to capacity and transport links.
cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea's planned stadium will not linkely be ready until 2024 but it is a far more complex situation than Everton's as the old stadium needs to be removed, there is land to be recovered that is currently part of the railway system and needs relocating and all of that adds up. I am not aware of the club saysing what the costs will be but a figure discussed wilth a third party was rather less than £1B. The stadium will also be very high end and again that costs money to do. Whether or not the re-instate the very nice music venue under the stadium or not is unclear, but I suspect not.}

As well as what ed has said, I would imagine that building in London (especially large structures) would cost a lot more than to build it up north anyway.

Try buying a three bedroom house. I rented a flat for three months, cost me £320 a week.

Thanks for that ed002 I got the 1 Billion from BBC article I'm glad there's other reasons for the extra cost other than quality of the stadium as I'm hoping we will have one of the best in the country if not Europe.

{Ed002's Note - The Spurs stadium is beginning to look impressive and thei plans for the movable pitch are innovative.}
