Steven Pienaar has become the club's first international ambassador, ? Why Pienaar? Didn't he think he was to good for us, went to Spurs was not good enough, so came running back? is it a job for the boys again? what about Osmand, Hibbert, who love our club? they must have upset someone at the big, Tony still goes to every game, home and away, and not on a freeby.

maybe because pienaar is known internationally, like the job title?

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly it. Much as Hibbert and Osman were club stalwarts for years, they are no marks outside of Liverpool. They could wander round most cities in the world and not be recognised. Pienaar is well known in Holland and throughout Africa. He is an internationally recognised name. Who, in terms of former Everton players, is better suited to the role? I honestly cannot think of anyone.}

Eto - haha - just kidding!

Still think its a wast of money, is it only me?

I wouldn’t like to speculate about the money side of it. But ambassador roles are very important and very useful when done properly.

If it builds us a bigger profile in Africa then it could well be worth it. Get Li Tie back to conquer the Chinese market haha.

I can name a player known world wide, could not see him wearing a suit and tie though, or watching his p and q, s, Neville Southall.

I know there is a title to thus role, but what exactly does thus job entail? Is it money for nothing really?

I think he will do a good job for us and for Sports Pesa. growing our fan base globally is important for the future.

Big Nev would be expensive. paying for 2 seats on every trip would soon add up.
