How anyone can have a go at the club, manager or players after that game yesterday is beyond me. Yes, it was only one game but the majority of those on the pitch showed a bit of passion, desire and determination and put a real shift in. The biggest plus point for me was the atmoshpere, the fans inside Goodison really played their part in driving the team on. It was like a bear pit once again and that does transpire to the pitch, lifting our team and affecting opposition players. We need more of this at home for the rest of the season whether you're a fan of the manager or not.
We could have even pinched it towards the end if we had a clinical forward but, that said, we did also ride our luck. Wasn't the best derby game yet there were positives to take from it moving forward. I think Walcott could do with a spell on the bench as it just isn't happening for him right now. Can anyone tell me if Lookman was out injured? Would explain his omission from yesterdays squad if he was.

After the first game at Anfield, this was always going to happen and Klopps comments only added fuel to the situation. The top 6 Clubs in the Premiership are streets ahead of us at the moment but these Derby's form goes out the window. Up to the Cardiff game, Silva was showing true to form and his history. Let us see how we do next three against Newcastle, Chelsea and West Ham, is an expectant 5 points from 9 reasonable.

{Ed025's Note - i would say yes mate..

Well it's a long time since I remember us giving liverpool a run for their money in both the seasons derbies.

Totally agree, Smit, but I expected one or two to twist the post to have a go at Silva. Usual suspects eh.

One game does not make a season.

And here comes the other one! I'm not too sure what your point is, DC?
'Yes, it was only one game but the majority of those on the pitch showed a bit of passion, desire and determination and put a real shift in. '
I think I covered your comment before you even read this.

What happened after the first derby when we where magnificent, let's see what happens in the next couple of games.
To be honest Liverpool where poor on the day by there standards and we where good by are standards.

I was talking about one, specific game, DC. You're always on hand to beat everything EFC with a big stick, it wouldn't hurt you to give credit where it's due. So, sticking to the OP, did you think we played badly with no passion, no desire or no determination? Do you not think the fans made it an intimidating atmosphere? Where there no positives to take from the game moving forward? Will you always have to have a moan at every post that doesn't fit into your half-empty glass?

We have been much improved in the last 4 games, so it's not just one.
Not back to how we were in November but we are turning the corner.

DC won't be happy until Allardyce is back playing his 7 2 1 formation with 2 defensive midfielders and Tosun 40 yards up the field.
