Still going 4-2-3-1. Good news Alcaraz playing behind the striker. Bad news Tim still playing.
Looks like we are going to continue with Barry heading it to nobody.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2025 20:30:52
Alcaraz has been poor first half mate.

02 Dec 2025 15:46:14
I know it will never happen as Moyes is too set in his ways, but why not drop both Barry and Beto and play Garner and Kdh together and Grealish, Illiman, Dibling and Alcarez up front.

All are capable of finding the net and by not playing either of the B, s it sends out a message they are not automatic selections. Let’s use our flair players and go for it.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2025 16:29:04
You are correct it will not happen, probably give up on Tim and play Alcaraz instead although that might not happen and Tim is given another chance. Don't expect anything too drastic from Moyes. I just hope that we can sort out our problems with corners and that our center-forward, "whoever it is" can score.

For those living or visiting the USA we are on Peacock. Fubo continues to have problems in agreeing a contract to show games so if this continues Fubo is out the door.

02 Dec 2025 16:29:44
We had too many square pegs in round holes under the last rew managers and look where it got us.

02 Dec 2025 17:52:03
Be good to see, but doubt it very much.

02 Dec 2025 18:07:38
Expect Moyes to batten down the hatches. Play his one dimensional tactic and hope we nick it 1-0.

02 Dec 2025 19:12:42
Well Keane nowhere to be seen and so both Tim and Alcarez play. No other changes just players shuffling around.

03 Dec 2025 07:55:52
Expect Moyes to win at Bournemouth AGAIN and have us in 9th place going into Xmas! UTFT ?? massive improvement on our past managers.

02 Dec 2025 12:37:31
Going for a 1.2 win tonight to get us all expecting a victory over dyches forest at weekend to only then go and balls it up. Need consistency but everyone is beating anyone at the minute. COYB'S need some point's tonight.

{Ed025's Note - i would be well happy with a draw to be honest Ron..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2025 14:39:56
Need 3 points tonight Ed, chance for the players to redeem themselves after Sat mate.

{Ed025's Note - 3 would be great GB but thats going to be a tough ask mate, they are decent to say the least and we go there without our best midfielder and very low on confidence, i cant see any change in formation either if im honest it will be the big hoof to the hapless Barry and hope for 2nd phase ball, they will double up on Jack and Illy and i feel our defence will be in for a pretty torrid time unfortunately, i really dont want to be negative but thats the way i see it..

02 Dec 2025 15:14:20
Fingers x mate will be tight we both lost last game so COYB.

{Ed025's Note - but they had a bit of hard luck and we got mullered GB, but never say never and the odd slice of luck could go our way i suppose mate..

02 Dec 2025 15:56:07
We could do ok as we probably won't cross the halfway line.

02 Dec 2025 17:09:44
We’ve struggled at Bournemouth for the last few seasons. Hoping a cheeky 1-0 win but expecting a draw or losing by 2.

{Ed025's Note - a draw and im biting your hand off BR..

02 Dec 2025 17:52:11
Yep a point would be good but think we can Nick it BR.

02 Dec 2025 18:02:59
If our defence turns up, we could nick it. Depends if we play like st old Trafford or like Saturday. Jekyll and Hyde those performances.

02 Dec 2025 12:05:59
I feel EFC keep making the same mistakes. Very strange recruitment.
We sign players who don’t appear PL ready (Dibling, Barry, Aznou) when we are not replacing the obvious voids in squad.
Clear we have needed a right back for years - Coleman / Patterson should have retired / left in summer.
Guaye will need replacing soon and would have thought given AFCON would have been a good season to bed someone in / share role this season - against Newcastle shows how soft we are without him.
We need a proven premier league striker - players at Wolves, Botnmouth, Brighton, Brentford etc that we could have signed if went early end of season instead of Barry.
Moreover our style - it needs speeding up and has done for years - there is no speed in midfield and all players hold the ball up - not helped by our full backs not being good enough and not overlapping.

I do think we have basis for a decent team but need to sign 1-2 players who will make difference rather than 7-8 with 5-6 of them being potential - we are not at that stage - we need first team players - did you see our bench against Newcastle- it’s very poor.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely spot on Sobs..

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Dec 2025 18:06:13
Been the same for years Sobs and when we’ve signed a ‘premier league’ standard player, it’s been the likes of Young, McNeil or Maupay.

At least KDH and Jack were an improvement. It was criminal we didn’t do a proper job getting a striker in. Look at Woltemart getting on at Newcastle - I wonder if we were seriously linked with him in the summer.

{Ed025's Note - he did not have "potential" BR, he was the finished article so we avoided him like the plague mate..

01 Dec 2025 18:10:55
Maybe what we need is a change in formation. Both Ndiaye and Grealish are doubled up on and so become ineffective in games.
Maybe move Ndiaye up front with one of the donkeys, and play 4-4-2. We have been playing a lone striker for a few years now and it hasn't worked.

We have become very predictable, play it wide then go back.
So if we are going to play it long at least have two up there and have a proper go.

{Ed025's Note - count me in Brass, if you are playing one upfront he has to be a very good player and not someone who just works hard and has not even had a shot on target since he has been here, we are very predictable...just double up on Jack and Ndaiye and we are stymied, mind you Moyes will stick with this system anyway because he has no plan B imo, we have a lot of holes in the squad and its not going to be fixed in the next window and maybe not even in the summer so we have to make do and mend this season i feel mate..

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Dec 2025 17:38:29
Think that would work Brass good post mate.

01 Dec 2025 18:17:04
Think a lot would agree but can only wish. least all these headers young barry is winning might actually go to 1 of our players and not the 2nd centerback get up and support the kid. wonder if the players will be tired only having 3 day's to recover ?????.

01 Dec 2025 18:29:29
Watched Chelsea play with Neto up top against Barcelona last week, system worked very well. I know we don’t have the players that Chelsea do, but Moyes needs to try something other than punting to Barry surely. At least Ndayie could play on the shoulder and turn the centre backs.

02 Dec 2025 12:37:35
Personally, I don't think a 4-4-2 is necessarily the answer, but i think some sort of change up definitely is - but we all know what happens on the pitch week in week out has absolutely no bearing on Moyes' system and we'll see the same ineffectual 4-2-3-1 until the day he leaves.

01 Dec 2025 16:35:50
Some positive news after that horror show at the weekend.

Caicedo picked up a straight red which means he will not be available against us in a few games.

Senesi, arguably Bournemouths best defender, Cook and Brooks, who always seems to do well against us, are also out for tomorrow.

Agree1 Disagree0

01 Dec 2025 16:49:01
Yeah read that mate every little helps.

01 Dec 2025 16:27:01
Tough game tomorrow at Bournemouth we need to get over our last game pronto, so I expect us to win 1-2 tight match COYB.

Agree3 Disagree0

01 Dec 2025 11:12:58
Sitting at the stadium before the game on Saturday something in the Match day Programme caught my eye and I thought to myself wow that explains a lot. Barry used to be a CB a number 6 actually it was only 5 years ago a coach decided to give him a run out up top and he has been a striker since then. He had no academy training as a striker and is learning on the job, he is an apprentice. Why anyone would pay 30 million for a kid who is a defender by nature playing up front is crazy .

Your not getting away with that in the premier league. It would have been much cheaper to move Michael Keane up front and keep the 30 million, let’s face it Keane is a better striker than Barry. Couldn’t believe what I was reading and couldn’t believe we payed all that money for him. Surely our scouts knew he wasn’t even striker.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Dec 2025 16:28:00
I think the lad just needs a goal, even if it deflects off his backside, just to get his confidence up. His movement off the ball is quite good, he gets into positions even if he's not receiving the ball. At this moment, he's the best we've got, not hard really when our only other option is beto!

On your point about him being a CB earlier in his career, there are plenty of players that change position once they become pro. Some start as forwards and end up working their way back to CB's or midfielders, some move in the opposite direction etc. As I said above, he just needs that bit of luck in front of goal and then we can see if that helps him kick on. Too early for us to write him off imo. At the very most, he's got a month to sort himself out before the window opens again as I'm sure we will be looking to bring at least one forward in, possibly two if we let beto move on.

01 Dec 2025 17:22:36
He changed when he was 19 I know some kids change 15/16 and have a few years academy football but 19 is pushing it and Beto used to work in KFC 5/6 years ago surely can’t be this hard to find a half decent striker.

He needs a goal that’s saying something when he can’t even achieve a shot on target. I don’t think he is going to make it in the premier league Sunday league maybe.

02 Dec 2025 01:23:34
I remember Sheffield Wednesday putting a centre half. Paul warhurst up front once and he bagged loads of goals as a striker.

01 Dec 2025 00:50:34
We need a new back four the starting defence from Saturday needs dropping and when we imploded we really imploded we have to be the easiest team to beat when we are off it fs Saturdays game was embarrassing.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Dec 2025 08:44:28
Certainly without Guaye they were wide open. Tark’s legs look to have gone. We actually played some good stuff with the ball, but with no No9, it falls flat. Always a project to improve this squad, desperately need to keep Garner, Ndayie, Pickford and Branthwaite. Other than Grealish, there’s not too many who’ll move us forward.

01 Dec 2025 08:44:48
And KDH of course.

01 Dec 2025 10:23:08
Play Barry in Defence. He is a defender anyway he has been a defender all his career he only became a striker 4 years ago and now we have him as our main striker in the premier league. We buy some plonkers. Swap Barry with Keane as Keane is a better striker than Barry.

01 Dec 2025 10:33:03
Every time Newcastle got forward it looked they were going to score, we were excellent against Man U and woeful against Newcastle, really hope that was just a one off and we get back to winning ways tomorrow.

01 Dec 2025 10:52:20
I tend to agree with JB above, we need to keep Garner, Ndaiye, Pickford and Branthwaite. With reported interest from elsewhere it will be difficult keeping Garner and Ndaiye.

What are fans thoughts on putting bids in for McGinn and Olly Watkins from Villa?

As regards Grealish, I don’t go overboard with his contribution. Since his earlier games where a lot of positives were seen, I think this was more to impress the England manager. Even from his Villa days he always struck me that he was always trying to draw a foul around the edge of the box, rather than get the ball across quick and early. Spends more time passing backwards than forwards, and his legs have gone to get to the bye line to get a cross in. He slows the game down. No doubt there will be those that disagree but it is opinions.

The club need to decide whether to play Dibbling or sell, just sitting on the bench can’t continue. Selling Dibbling at a loss no doubt and Beto can go towards a striker.

Saturdays game showed we have no winners in the team and lack of leadership on the pitch was a massive loss. No good looking at each other.

Set pieces needs more priority at both ends of the pitch. Moan over.

{Ed025's Note - its not a moan if you are making pertinent points Brian, i agree with a lot of what you say mate..

01 Dec 2025 11:28:54
Wouldn't want Watkins Brian. He is easily better than what we have but I think his best days are behind him and he is very wasteful in front of goal, even when he was hitting double figures. He is 30 in a matter of days too.

McGinn is fit as a butchers dog so his age doesn't bother me as much. Think he is a proper Everton player and him/fans would feed off one another.

{Ed025's Note - im with you BN..

01 Dec 2025 11:40:21
Why would you want to sell Dibbling?

01 Dec 2025 15:14:49
BN. I didn’t realise Watkins was as old as that, but if could get him cheap he’s better than what we’ve got.
Yes McGin is an ideal choice. Wasn’t there some interest last summer or was it paper talk.

01 Dec 2025 15:20:28
I’d keep Grealish, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we didn’t. We bought Barry as a striker, so he’s a striker. Just not a very good one. I think we’ll see the second clear out in the summer. Keane, Tarks, Coleman, Guaye and a few others. Huge money off the wage bill will help us reinvest.

01 Dec 2025 15:37:23
BMD. Why sell Dibbling.?
Last summer we bought Barry for a lot of money, young, getting experience and playing at the moment first choice striker.
dibbling we bought last summer, for more money, young but not playing as often as I would expect.

As no doubt they are more for the future Dibbling won’t develop sat on the bench every game. That’s the way I’m seeing it, or missing something.
A lot of money tied up waiting for player development when we’ve got other priorities to fill.

01 Dec 2025 16:32:51
Dibbling is unfortunate to play in a position that we have covered with arguably our best players of this, and last, season. He will get his game time when IN h3ads off to international duty, providing he steps up his efforts in training, if reports are to be believed. Barry only has beto as competition for a starting berth, probably why he is getting more game time himself.

If we had a decent senior striker then Barry would be integrated slower than he has been but the need to play him now is more urgent than giving Dibbling the same amount of minutes. Roll on the next window ??.

01 Dec 2025 17:01:13
It makes absolutely no sense selling a young player who has hardly had a look in so far this season. It wasn’t that long ago we were buying so called established players, and putting them on huge wages only to find out their best days were well and truly behind them.

We have one of the oldest squads in the league, and it’s showing.
I fully support the club in looking to bring in younger players, but they need game time. And let’s face it it’s not like all the players ahead of them are on fire is it.

{Ed025's Note no BMD and im all for buying younger players but for me they have to be player ready, we paid £45m for Dibling and he is just not ready, nor is Barry and nor is Anzou, that is a lot of money for players who MAY come good or who are that old chestnut..have potential, we need players who are ready to play NOW, not possibly in a couple of years mate, our scouting team and buyers are not worth a carrot and it shows more when we have players suspended or injured and have to play 2 keepers on the bench, this is not a knee jerk reaction to the Newcastle result i have been saying it for a while..

01 Dec 2025 17:39:22
Appreciate what you’re saying Ed but neither Aznou or Dibbling have been given a decent run of games mate. If Moyes is saying they’re not ready then how would he know? Oh yes that’s right he sees them in training.

Well Micky and a few others must be sensational in training.
We have a distinct lack of pace in the team, and from what I’ve seen from Aznou and Dibbling is they have this in abundance.
Just my view.

{Ed025's Note - we do lack pace BMD and i dont know about Aznou but Dibling seems very pedestrian mate..and a bit weak, i would love him to prove me wrong though..

02 Dec 2025 01:40:50
Have never seen aznou play so can't comment on his pace but dibling is intelligent and technically gifted but not pacy at all.

As we need a RB it looks like Ben White isn’t getting games at Arsenal and would be a big upgrade on what we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Nov 2025 16:16:21
Would cost a few quid pal but a definite upgrade.

30 Nov 2025 17:23:01
Would be a great signing, not sure we can afford it.

30 Nov 2025 18:20:01
Defo mate.

30 Nov 2025 18:23:00
Arsenals wage structure is strict. It would depend on the player. We need a RB, LB, DM with an engine and 2 strikers. Not going to happen in January. What I want most though is whatever GB drinks in the runup to and on matchday.

30 Nov 2025 19:13:21
Tea dms I think every game we play we can win mate, I don’t go down the road of one or two on here that it’s a top 6 Team we are playing and we have no chance., I’ve supported Everton since the sixties and have seen us win most things, would very much like the younger supporters on here to see that also, so will continue to be optimistic, that’s what us real Everton supporters do mate.

30 Nov 2025 20:48:18
You don't think 'all' of us want our Team to win every game? Lived, worked, played all over the World since 1966, retired 2010 and supported since 1960. That history is as nothing against the knowledge and experience of quite a few on this site, that I know. I recognise our strengths and the quality of the opposition.

Hence I always hope for a win but never blindly predict. Moyes is correct Newcastle were the better side and played a side that was flat and knackered after Mondays performance. This Tuesday will be equally difficult but a much better performance.

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so DMS..

30 Nov 2025 22:25:50
Hi dms, also worked all over the world, travel was great until I reached 60 then flying to places like
Australia and Japan every five minutes got a little tiring so retired and focus on playing golf and watching Everton.
I don't go along with this being flat after playing Monday, I know it was with ten men but Newcastle played Tuesday and if the players where knackered why not use some of the other members of the squad who must be fresh since they hardly get on the pitch.

Just a bloody poor excuse for a disgusting performance from both players and manager. Newcastle are not a great side and we made them look like title contenders.
If we get into Europe we are going to have to play much more often.

01 Dec 2025 00:55:34
Please someone tell me how professional sportsmen can be tired after five days seriously that is just an excuse when the team doesn't do well why weren't Newcastle tired after playing on Tuesday and can someone please tell me why it's always F'ing Everton.

01 Dec 2025 05:37:42
Given Newcastle played mid week, they should have been more tired…

We got it wrong. Midfield was where the game was going to be won and their wingbacks pushed high up the field. Played Tim who was poor and we never really got into a rhythm. Shame really as Newcastle’s away form had been awful but we like to help teams break bad runs. Look forward to the day this no longer happens.

01 Dec 2025 06:52:50
What’s the flight time to Manchester maybe they were jet lagged?

01 Dec 2025 12:54:06
It wasn't a brag bluemike just an answer to GB's 'That's what us 'REAL' Everton supporters do'.
