Much as I respect Leon Osman I found his comments about Everton not being concerned or worried about all the new signings Liverpool have made over the last few weeks rather disconcerting to say the least! The top six or so teams in the Premier League. which is where Everton aspire to be every season, but presently lack consistency. all have 3/4 strikers, at least 2 of them being top quality. Chelsea have Costa & Remy & they can perm others. Man City have Aguero, Dzeko & Bony, along with others. Arsenal have numerous choices as do Spurs and just at the moment Man United are probably a bit light up front, but will probably sign a striker very shortly. Ozzie says he isn't worried by the signings across the Park They now have 4 Top Class proven strikers to choose from.Sturridge (when fit), Danny Ings & also 2 top Belgian International Strikers in Origi & Benteke. What have we got?? We have Lukaku.oh and Kone! Naismith plays up front but is not an out and out striker, same as Mirallas. Everton need to sign a top class striker, to play up alongside Lukaku all the time in a 4-4-2 formation. not in place of Lukaku if he gets injured. Think we saw enough in the Asia Trophy against Arsenal to see just how far behind we are, Arsenal took us apart at will & they can put 2 strong teams out at the same time. The Management & Board are not showing enough ambition to convince the likes of Stones, McCarthy & possibly Coleman to stay at the Club. Those players are the future of Everton FC and they and the Fans need reassuring that we aren't just going to be a mid table, selling Club. Chelsea apparently are preparing to come back with a £34mill offer for John Stones. I would like to Thank Abramovich and the Sheik at Man City and the Glazers at Everton for completely ruining the game of football as I know it! I would like to see Mourinho & Pelligrini etc actually "BUILD" a team. not just be able to BUY all the best players from around the world and try to mould them together. Just think Howard Kendall, Bill Shankly, Brian Clough . how highly rated as Managers/Coaches would they be today? They actually built teams from nothing and moulded them into brilliant footballing sides. If Everton are not able to hang on to our decent players because of lack of any success, then Martinez is wasting his time trying to build a side. It seems the "Money Clubs" can just buy who they like because Contracts arenm't worth the paper they are written on.

Well said Gv. It seems like the board are quite happy to have a 1st team and no one to challenge it unless out of U21 team. The way teams around us are strengthening,we are going back to the early 90s and mid table to avoiding relegation. We should be vying for players like Yarmalenko, Shaquiri, Austin, and players like that. Not seeing who Everton don't want in there squad, or showing interest in a player, but getting pipped to the post by (no disrespect), Stoke,West Ham, Swansea, Aston Villa,and teams like that. Finger needs to be fully pulled out their backsides and spend some money.

I stopped reading when you called Sturridge, Ings, Origi And Benteke top class. How is Origi proven? Terrible in the French league and has done zilch for Belgium and has not played in the Prem before. Benteke is a slightly better version of Balotelli, same play style just a but better at heading the ball and he is always injured. Ings is not top class, not even good enough for a top 10 team imo. Injury prone, would not take a penalty when his team needed him to, not a very good footballer. Sturridge is another always injured and despite being ripped into the last time I said it, I still don't think he's good!. If they are top class then so is Lukaku, who is better than all of them, Naismith is probably better than Origi aswell. We do need another striker but those 4 top class? Pffft

{Ed001's Note - I don't rate Benteke, I want to be clear on that, but he is absolutely nothing like Balotelli, have you ever even watched either play or are you too busy whining about how crap everyone is to watch anyone play football? Benteke starts ahead of Lukaku because he is better than him, though neither are top class, it is just Benteke doesn't have the touch of an elephant on a rampage when trying to control the ball. Where does this complete nonsense about Balotelli and Benteke being similar come from? Balotelli likes to play off a striker, as a deep lying striker, whereas Benteke is an old fashioned target man.}

I know what you are saying mate and agree with most of it, let me ask you this question and answer truthfully.

If we were bought by a gazillionaire would you give a toss about our new manager bringing a team through the youth system or would you be happier with us bidding and buying the best talent out there.

I know what my answer would be and call me arrogant but I would not give a hoot what any other club or fan would think of us.

unfortunately we are not one of the lucky/super rich 5 clubs in this country which have either mega rich owners or a massive world wide fan base, we have to work for our living and pay average salaries (lol) of up to 80k per week, the days when we can match any of these are long gone

And Tom Cleverley started ahead of better players with England, what is your point?. Benteke doesn't have a touch of an Elephant on a rampage, but unless you hoof it to him, he is pretty useless, and he cannot go past anyone, oh and before anyone brings up the Heitinga match in 2012-13, its Johny Heitinga, Kone destroyed him, as did everyone else.

{Ed001's Note - my point is that Cleverley started ahead of better players because he was a Man Utd player, not because he was any good. Benteke is at Villa but starts ahead of Lukaku because he is better. You have the least knowledge of football of anyone I have ever read on these sites. You just slag off everyone without a clue of what they actually do because you are so busy looking for things to whine about. You are like an old woman! Benteke can go past people, he should do it more, but it is impossible to know whether that is down to instructions he is given by the coach or his attitude. It is attitude that is Benteke's problem, he is a sulker, and will give up if things aren't going his way. I don't even know why I am bothering, you literally know nothing about football that is not negative, you will never see anything but the negatives because you are so negative. I notice that you are busy skirting the fact that you still have not explained how Balotelli and Benteke are similar players. Easier to totally miss the point of a reply when it goes over your head though isn't it?}

As much as it hurts to say swan at least they have 4 strikers injury prone or not, we have 1 and a bit. Eds response about Lukaku is right his first touch is so bad his second is either a throw in or a header. That brings me onto the next part of his game that being he never wins a header. ever. benteke starts ahead of Lukaku because he is better simple as that and as I said as much as it pains to say it I do it because it's true. Origi you are totally right about swan he is awful against us twice he was poor and was also named in the worst 11 in france in a poll. Ballotelli is just a waste he has talent but just cba using it most of the time. I do think sometimes swan you just rant to get a response and to get peoples backs up rather than having a debate with structure and sense its just a rant of how bad everybody is.

Owned.

@GV, I agree with Osman to a point. I'm not really bothered who they are bringing in across the park, I'm more concerned with our business and who we may or may not sign. Sturridge is top class, despite what Swan says, but is rarely fit. Ings an Origi are good prospects at decent ages. I rate Benteke but, as ed01 pointed out, his attitude is suspect. Playing wise, I think he is better than people give him credit for. Almost a goal every game in a struggling Villa side isn't too shoddy. We do need to reinforce our forward line but something tells me RM will be happy to see Kone play more rather than spend cash.
@Swan, he's not as injury prone as you seem to think. He had a bad Achilles injury before the world cup and seems to have picked up a couple of niggling ones as he played catch up. Previous to this he played a lot of games for his previous clubs
@Ed001, hahaha certainly told Swan there!

Oh please another vomit inducing ed 'ownage'? Please, if I had said Kone was terrible, would you have bothered? No, as soon as it's Liverpool, like a fly on a turd. I actually would of done the Balotelli and Benteke thing but I was too busy wondering why you think Benteke is better just because he starts for Belgium. But when it is Cleverley it is because of the club he plays for. Also, only see the negatives? Yeah okay, perhaps you should actually read some posts, Deulofeu? Happy with that. See? I only needed one example, now you can deduce that I don't only see the negatives. I just saw some negatives in Liverpool strikers, at which point did I say none of them could do anything? Never, not once. You mention Balotelli playing off the striker but that's funny, whenever I have seen him for Italy, Liverpool or City, he had the ball played at his feet and he would lay it off or try to turn the defender. But hey maybe he played off the striker for Milan/Inter. It is the curse of the non editors on these sites. It's been mentioned by a few posters (shortly before a ban for expressing these concerns), if you say one thing an ed may find hilarious (in a bad way), BOOM! Inabit, amirite?. I think for the good of everyone I will stop posting on these sites as I have to admit, I find a lot of it most, taxing, most of the eds are biased as hell and a lot of people are too sensitive. Please ban my ip after this too so I cannot post anymore as I will be tempted to again. Cheers.

Swan.

{Ed001's Note - why would I argue about Kone being terrible, when he is? You would be the turd that is for sure, you certainly vomit up enough turds for posts. When did I say Benteke was better because he starts for Belgium? Are you really such a complete arrogant tit that you can't read other people's posts before trying to reply? You just make up so many lies in your head about how you have seen these players a million times before you were born that you don't know the truth any more. I said he started because he was better, not that he was better because he started, I take it that is too difficult a concept for you? As for Cleverley, you know full well I am right but you are such a knob that you will argue a point just because you won't admit to being wrong, which you normally are. You call other people too sensitive but then it is you that always bitches at them when they disagree with you. You need to grow up and have some respect for other views. You have clearly never even seen Balotelli play, your description of him is the least insightful analysis I have ever read, and that takes some doing. You might want to go back and actually watch him, you were obviously too busy making up lies rather than watching him, as usual with you. The only curse is us having to deal with you.}
