What if Martinez does stay?

First of all I think he needs to go but if he does end up staying what are we as fans going to do?

I don't think it is healthy for the club and the players with the current situation regarding the fanbase. Every home game is eerily quiet and the only fan Interaction are occasional boos. I know we are unhappy with what's going on but the toxic atmosphere at home games isn't helping and i'm sure its linked with our performances. e.g video of jags having to tell barkley we weren't booing at him at half time in wembely. Must be effecting the poor lad.

What's the difference between now and moyes regin? We nearly got relegated one season under moyes yet some regard him better than Martinez and want him back! Don't you remember the standard of football we had at times under him?

Yet under moyes the atmosphere was arguably the best in the league and contributed to our performances.

All I can say is I think we need to get behind the team and players and make goodison electric again no matter who is in charge and how the results are going. The club needs it.

Final point, the board aren't stupid especially now we have been invested in. I think we need to trust they will do the correct thing in the end. Rash actions by the board and fans isn't going to do our great club any good at all.

{Ed002's Note - Just to be clear, as of this time there has been no investment in Everton per se - simply shares changing hands.}

Ed002: good point about FM buying shares not being the same as him making funds directly available to the club.
No doubt, FM's involvement will facilitate improvement to the financial management of the club, but your previous point about "investment" being financed primarily (entirely? ) by the television money and outgoing transfer fees is also well made.
The club needs a strategic plan - for both on and off the field - that makes it a self-sustaining, sensibly financed, professionally run and successful (winning! ) concern.
There is no easy road to success - even if a "big name" manager/ coach rides in on a unicorn sprinkling fairy dust and waving a magic wand.
It will take intelligence, determination, courage and patience to make it happen.
I just hope that the fans (me included! ) can stop our knees jerking when things aren't going brilliantly.
However, I still want RM replaced - I just don't know by whom :- (

{Ed002's Note - Right, that is a pretty good summation. Sid.}

Moyes did have two bad seasons in 11 which isn't bad given how little money he had. Martinez has had one good season in 3 and the club is moving backwards. I believe it was Moyes' effect on our backline which was still tight and organised that allowed Martinez's attacking football to be result effective in his 1st season. I believe Roberto isn't the man to take us forward but I'm not sure who is. Some of the names we keep saying are crazy, we won't be the next Chelsea or Man City overnight despite Moshiri's finicial clout. Let's look at the Leicester model get a good solid coach and fix the problem areas of our squad. Top 6 and hopefully a trophy would be incredible next season but that is no guarantee, we need some patience.

In his last season as manager with us Moyes was booed at many home games because of his negative substitutions.

Anyone who was at the Norwich game in that season would see a lot of similarities to this with Martinez.

He used to get screamed at to put a striker on or an attack minded player to go for the win. He also used to complain in his press conferences as to "what do we expect of him" when questioned about it.

Stop looking at his management with rose tinted glasses.

Great post Sid. I think the club is moving forward in every level except the senior teams results and performances (which to most people is the most important) .
Martinez has many fans and supporters of his Management style at Everton FC and i've heard this from a person within the club.
I too think he will have to go because his relationship with the fans is completely broken leaving his position untenable.
Who we bring in to replace him will need time to build their own squad of players and put their footballing tactics in place. Unfortunately like the majority of EPL clubs, patience is not something many fans seem to have.
The end of this season cannot come quick enough so we can move on and build for the next. Who knows we could do a Leicester next season, we now know its not impossible COYB!

Yeah ed I know but you understand what I meant the incoming investment (new stadium etc hopefully) .

{Ed002's Note - The stadium will become a reality.}

The omly defence I can say for martinez is we have scouted and been linked with a lot of talented player who have gone to other clubs and been a hit. Batysityu, yarmalenko, payet, tadic etc were out of our price range and younger players have been blooded to quite good success. if he stays with finance added who knows. But I don't want return of moyes at his expence. top manager needed.

Choice between Martinez and Moyes, then Moyes every time. This fella if he stays (and I must say the longer it goes on the more and more likely he is going to stay) , we are certainties for relegation, probably even next season especially if he does not admit that his tactics need to be flexible.
