Getting very boring now, city should pay up, or p. off. But weather Stones plays for us or city, with Sam as the England manager, young john is going to have to learn when to play out from the back, and when to put his foot though the ball. Learn that, and he will be on the road to becomeing a great player.

They are allegedly in talks mate. Negotiations are taking place and the fee is not the problem.

28 Jul 2016 21:00:51
What is the problem then Degsy?

28 Jul 2016 21:57:26
I don't know, but the fee part is apparently "almost" sorted. That sounds like things willhappen soon unless the other problem proves significant. The original post said City should pay up or shut up. so I pointed out that they are willing to pay up.

I heard the fee WAS the problem. city want him but not at £50 mil.

28 Jul 2016 23:33:19
Listened to pep before his words where I want John Stones but not sure whether we will be able to make it happen so reading between the lines it must be the fee can't see wages being a problem.

I heard the clubs were close to agreeing the fee. They were not far apart.

If we want 50 million, we shouldn't take anything less. we are in the power seat, its our choice and we set the rules regarding the transfer. I can't see City wanting to wait until deadline day to get him, so they will either pay up or maybe panic buy him on the last day and maybe pay more. Anyone remember fellini's sale to United?

Cheers Degsy.

At this stage, we are probably insisting that we have a ready made replacement lined up before we release Stones. ie it is no good accepting 50 million and then finding out that there is no one around to replace him. I would guess we are in for Van Dyjk and negotiating with Southampton. Could they refuse a 20 odd million offer? There may be others we are interested in and that's where Mr Walsh now comes in. But I would guess thee club is far busier than any of us know. Doing it the Everton way. Quietly. The first we will know is when deals are done.

I heard yesterday that they were about 10m short of what we are prepared to accept. Might sound a lot but I'm sure it will be resolved quickly, possibly over the week end. Stones is with the squad for tonight's game in the Dresden cup so I don't expect to hear anything about his sale today.
