As one of Ross Barkleys biggest defenders, I found myself tearing my hair out at Goodison last Tuesday, Everytime he tried something, I clapped the guy, tried to cheer the guy on, there is only so much you can give as a fan.

At times it seemed like he didn't want the ball, a short pass played to Ross went straight back to the same player only two feet away, he would then get it back and again play the short pass back to the same player, on a number of occasions he played the final pass to an oppornant instead of a team mate, I am not talking about a 30 yard pass on a sixpence, but a matter of a couple of yards.

Time and again he turned down a shooting chance unopposed, taking a touch, or trying to find a team mate.

This is not a dig at Ross, it's stating what most Evertonians already knows, where he is going wrong, he has the talent, he needs to believe in himself, have a go, and the fans will back him all the way.

{Ed025's Note - i would love him to come good baz but he needs to man up for his own sake mate, when things are not going well for him he seems to sulk and go into his shell which is doing him no favours at all..

I like that post Baz, stikes a few chords so to speak mate!

My post above Baz proves that no matter what he does Everton fans do not like him. Every bad pass is booed and the abuse is a disgrace.

I've said before for his own career he needs to out. I don't think there is any person in any job that gets constant abuse does their best work.

I know it is slightly different, but when Rooney got ridiculous abuse when he came back to Everton, he didn't sulk or not want the ball, it spurned him on and he upped his game, granted not his own supporters, but Barkly has to step up, not go in hiding if some get on his back, he needs to prove those boo boys wrong, that is the sort of player we want, a fighter who's not afraid to try anything, but as someone else said, he needs to man up, look at the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, even Duncan Ferguson, everyone of them got far more abuse and boos than Barkley, what did they do, threw it right down the boo boys throat.

{Ed025's Note - totally agree baz..

He proved them wrong last season. Are you saying he needs to get 24 goals and 22 assists?

So many players were poor last year. Lukaku didn't score in the last 10 games and treats the club and fans with disrespect but the fans still love and can't see fault. Its crazy!

That's totally it BlueJohnUns. Ed025 you say he gets preferential treatment because he's home grown. I actually think he gets more abuse because of it. He cares more than other players and I guess so called supporters know that so see him as an easy target.

{Ed025's Note - thats one way of looking as it i suppose NBTB, im not sure it makes that much difference myself mate..
