So Roy Keane has a dig at us over Mccarthy being injured.
Well Roy we pay his wages not Ireland so we have a right to get him to withdraw.
At least he withdrew with injury rather than throw his toys out the pram and go home to walk his dogs on the eve of 'your nations' biggest game for years.
And yes we may not have won a trophy for years or be in Europe but how has your managerial career been since retirement Roy? Successful I think not, so pipe down you plastic hard man.

Why not come down and have a word with Big Duncan about the situation, Mr Keane? Or are you still like you were when you were playing and s*it scared of being anywhere near him? I remember you hiding behind Wes Brown when Dunc wanted a quick word with you! bluegray is right with the "plastic hard man" tag - never saw you anywhere near Stuart Pearce either!

{Ed007's Note - Jesus wept, things must be grim down there if a balloon like Ferguson is seen as a 'hard-man'.}

08 Nov 2016 15:53:49
I've never really listened to anything he's got to say. It seems though Ron has really got under his skin and caused him to throw his toys out of the pram.

I'd just let the turkey to stew.

08 Nov 2016 19:48:12
And if ye listened to what he said properly.
He said everton is a great football club. but the players are a bit soft. i'd agree with that mac was supposed to be a hard boy but he aint. roy keane wouldn't go back from big dunc. denis irwin would quiten big dunc. stuart pearce isn't half as hard as ye make out either. i see him on bear grylls show a big girls blouse.

"It looks like we're going to have that issue with Everton again. Clubs are going to be selfish, they're going to look after their own players.

"I'm not sure when they last won a trophy, I know it was a few years ago so maybe they're overloading players with games but that usually means you're playing midweek games and Everton don't do that because they don't play European football.

So that is him saying we are a great football club?
No that is home having a pop because he thinks he is a law unto himself and he doesn't have to show respect to clubs in his interviews!
It will be fine anyways Roy because James will get most summers off even when there is international tournaments so he will be fit again for the 6 qualifying games.
Let's have it right he is a number 2 for his country whilst a Northern Irishman is at the helm because Roy can not manage simples.
He was a failure at management because his attitude and respect is none existent. End of the day Mccarthy never said he was a hard man you did, Roy speaks down to people like he is the boss not the 'Assistant'.

You might not understand the mentality of a born winner.
He gave 100% on the field for whoever he played for. played through injuries and pain. injections and so on.
He will need 2 new hips in the near future. So when he is working with people who don't give 100% he just can't understand it. the players now are too soft and it even does my head in.
It wasnt an attack on everton football club it was on spoilt overpaid footballers who only have commitment for themselves and their bank accounts.

08 Nov 2016 22:28:31
I get you're defending your own but what Ireland did was unacceptable. Mccarthy had just had a a lengthy lay off and only trained for a short period of time.

There isn't one good manager out there worth his salt that would play him for 90 mins then 80 mins in another game just 3 days later.

Unlike Keane and Ireland we want to look after our players and if he can't see that then he shouldn't be in his position.

What do think Ferguson would have done? Do you think he would have appreciated the treatment of Roy Keane like that? Of course not. Do you not understand the mentality of a born winner? Seems our manager does more than you and more than the loser manager Roy Keane is, sorry was.

08 Nov 2016 23:01:13
The loser manager roy keane was
Such a sad statement. every new young manager will make mistakes, when you have average players who stroll about come to training late. and so on.
And when you demand players to play train like you did and play through a bit of pain,
Have a look at what he did as a player and come back to me when it sinks in.

08 Nov 2016 23:50:14
Come back to me when he's done it as a manager and I'll let him question ours.

09 Nov 2016 00:18:34
Just take mcarthy, this boy was supposed to be one of the best young midfielders around a few years ago.
Are you happy with the way he plays for everton. doed he put himself about enough go in to tackles enough.
Is he getting forward enough, is he getting a enough goals.

09 Nov 2016 04:49:45
Keane should keep his mouth shut. It was Ireland's fault he suffered a set back, he should never have played the amount of minutes he did bearing in mind the little game time, and training, he had with us. That caused the initial hostility and we were within our rights to question how he was handled.
Common sense has to prevail, he is in the same boat this time around and it would be stupid to repeat the mistakes that were made originally. Keane just comes across bitter in this interview. He mentions Gibson and his general availability during his time with us. What he fails to mention is that we got him on the cheap from his old club, mainly because the lad is injury prone. Always has been. He says we haven't won anything for a long time and he is right. But I can't remember the last time he won anything either. Great player, crap manager.

{Ed025's Note - you forgot to mention what a horrible human being the guy is spud..

09 Nov 2016 06:50:41
This is the same fella who admitted in his book that he deliberately broke another players leg that could have cost him his career. Yes Keane was successful as a player but a failure as a manager and you use players as the excuse for this?
Hasn't seemed to affect Bruce and Hughes who have both managed in the top flight and continue to manage today.
The reason this blurt isn't a manager is the attitude he has, he thinks he's better than everyone, that even cost him his United career because he thought he was better than Fergie.
Defend him all you want at the end of the day he is just a number 2 to the Northern Irishman who he takes orders of.

09 Nov 2016 07:42:29
Keane isn't questioning the player he is questioning our club and manager. I will repeat - come back when has even been remotely successful as a manager.

One things for sure, he didn't have the courage or balls and definitely didn't have the brains to make it as a manager and throughout his life has chosen to walk away everytime it got tough. Ferguson made him successful and when it came to him doing it on his own he's ended up as assistant manager at a second rate international team.

And again instead of being a MAN and keeping things private so it doesn't put pressure on the player he does this. It's strange is it not that we don't have other problems with international managers or countries. Just these two lemons.

09 Nov 2016 09:52:35
This is why Keane, stated in his autobiography and shows what a hard man he is, why he left the Ireland squad:

Keane became disillusioned due to a rock-hard training pitch, that they didn't have their training kit and due to the goalkeeping arrangements in 5 a-side training sessions. He changed his mind after and said he was staying.

However, McCarthy (Mick) came out and said Keane had FAKED an injury to get out of playing the match against Iran. He was furious and went home.

What a man. These pussies these days hey, who pull out of matches due to injury. Not like the old days when real issues like no training kits would be the reason to not only play a game of footy but also pull out of a tournament.

09 Nov 2016 10:59:23
The man has principles lads.
And the man is not a horrible man i met him a few times. away from football he is actually a very nice man and very witty.

09 Nov 2016 12:58:23
No comeback to BlueJohnUns last post I see?
It highlights the fact Roy only says what in his little head he thinks is right.
Ireland have a problem with Everton and our treatment of our players, then fine don't select our players for internationals then and have nothing to moan about.
Roys Manergerial career:
Sunderland- resigned
Ipswich- sacked
Quite a short career in management, I think I may also have found why he dislikes Everton: The lowest point of their next season came at Goodison Park, where they were beaten 7–1 by Everton, which Keane described as "one of the lowest points" of his career. This was his Sunderland side, the same side who celebrated when he 'resigned'

09 Nov 2016 13:11:01
Maybe Leahy12. Most people are nice away from the limelight and glare.

Take big Duncan. I've never spoken to someone as nice as him in my life. He had all the time in the world when my son spent the day behind the scenes at Goodison.

Keane doesn't do himself any favours. Maybe he's just telling it how it is but sometimes diplomacy gets you places hostility doesn't.

It'd be a boring world if we were all the same though.
