Hey Ed it's nice to see the rumours page getting some take over talk comments. Shame it's all a bit difficult to believe. Although I like the comments from DM lately. He seems to be making the right noises with soon to be manager less spurs sniffing around.

There is a massive switch in attitude on this sight since the TW closed. We all seem to be loving all things Everton at the moment and the Jelly man has not even scored yet. COYB

looking forward to a few goals for the lads on Sat.

3-1

Jelly
Baines pen
Hibbo with one off his thigh in a goal mouth scramble
And Nevs with a trade mark own goal

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - all us blues are happy at the moment ace... even david has been seen grinning...all we have ever asked for, is a bit of investment in the team...and we got it!!..so happy days..

Hopefully Coleman will be fit when The Don departs. Just gives us another option over Drenthe, who I rate as much as the next man, but he's no Landon. {Ed025's Note - there are not many landons about...really nice guy as well...could have gone to any team in the league, but chose us...it speaks volumes of the guy..

Ed you think we should start donovan up top to get a goal before he heads off and try barkley on the right, then bring on our new guy for 20 mins? Dan {Ed025's Note - that would be good dan...but he is just as effective cutting in from the wing mate..

I have us getting 24 points out of what is left. And that's pretty optimistic to be honest.4th is beyond us. Top six isn't though. What do you think ed?

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - top 8 is more realistic bez, after our start, top 6 would be brilliant, but top 8 works for me, as i would rake in lots of R/S dosh..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trip to wembley and top 10 will do me, then sign DR Drenthe, The Strac and Peanut permanently and that will do me. {Ed025's Note - i need top 8..but would gladly give up the dough if we got to wembley

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes ive looked at our fixtures the home games are difficult ones but at home we can win anyone
Spurs
Arsenal
West Brom
Sunderland
Fulham
Newcastle
That's 18 points available at home in which i think we can AT LEAST pick up 13 points
Away games
QPR
Liverpool
Swansea
Norwich
Stoke
Man United
Wolves
If we can pick up 7 points that's very good in my opinion

All very difficult games a derby, Man united, Stoke who are great at home same with Swansea and Norwich and Playing Wolves away 2nd to last game of the season will be hard if Wolves are fighting down near the bottom

Adding them up that's AT LEAST 53 points at the end of the season and that is surely top 8 if we pick up a few more points then 7th is not impossible, which we would have to be happy with considering the start we had to the season.
If we make the right additions in the summer and hopefully get some investment we should be aiming at the top 6 for next season, its so important we start playing a full season consistently.

Top 8 Finnish, at least semi finals of fa cup and win against the rs would be amazing

Just saw a great stat there..... The last Everton lost more than 10 games in a season was the 2005-2006 season
2006-07 we lost 10 won
2007-08 we lost 10
2008-09 we lost 9
2009-10 we lost 9
last season we lost 10
shows how far we have come under Moyes

Believable4 Unbelievable3

How many teams have "progressed" since moyes has been with us, with the amount of money he's spent? And of all the teams you will undoubtably mention, how many have spent money that will one day catch up with them? ie, rangers, Portsmouth ,etc? How many managers would have put up with the lack of money, claiming that it's holding them, and there own carears back? Go back to your own site rs. We might have our backs to the wall, but we always come out fighting! Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

Eh ?? I'm a Everton fan mate, im pointing out that despite people moaning STILL losing 10 games or less a season is top 6 form, if we could draw less games we could challenge the top 4 more consistantly.
In the seasons i have write down we finished 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th in them seasons when we finished 6th the team above us (bolton) lost more games than us.
The two seasons we finished 5th, one place behind liverpool they lost more games than us
The same when we finished 7th and 8th teams above us lost more games
My point was if we cut out the sometimes negative approach mainly away from home we wouldn't draw so many games and would challenge the top 4 properly.

Kenny Swain's men beat Spain courtesy of George Green's goal.

England U16s got 2012 off to a decent start on Wednesday afternoon, with a victory over Spain in Madrid to follow-up from last year's Victory Shield success.

Kenny Swain's team travelled to the Spanish capital at the start of the week for a few days of training, before Wednesday's match at Las Rojas which saw the Head Coach manage to give playing time to all members of his 18-man squad.

And the Young Lions put in a good performance in the early Spanish afternoon, matching their hosts for the majority of the game before scoring a last minute winner through substitute George Green on his debut for England.

The Everton striker appeared to have few options on when he received the ball just outside the area, but proceeded to curl a fine shot past Spanish sub 'keeper Guillermo Lara to win it for England.

The Everton youth team player who cost a reported 2 million from Bradford at the tender age of 16 showed his worth in a dazzling display of energy, class and poise.

Swain's squad will now return to England and their clubs before they meet up again for the Montaigu Tournament in France, which takes place in late March and early April.

After the cup game were not playing again till march so i think moyes can afford to put our strongest team out on saturday! If jelly is fit i would like to see if him and denis can link up! Some power, work rate and finesse in oppositions final third should solve our goal scoring problems! Coleman is fit again which is good as donovan plays his last game on saturday! We will miss him!so hopefully coleman and drenthe between them can take his place, maybe osman aswell he has the quality just not the pace! Barkley and gueye are playing well for the reserves so they will be forcing there way back into the first team! So all in all things are looking pretty good! We have a solid back 4, a strong competitive midfield with plenty of choices and back up and a hard working front man who just needs someone up with him with the quality to finish what he makes! I think wembley and a top 7/8 finish is very possible if we play like we have the last couple of home games!

Hope this Silva kid from Portugal lives up to his reputation of a future star.
We already have the likes of Barkley, Green, Duffy, Garbutt, Bidwell, Baxter, Vellios, Mcenely, Gueye and now this Silva and when you consider that there all 20 or under that bodes well for the future of this club if our financial position stays the same for the next 2 years.
Also with the likes of Rodwell 21 and Coleman 22 we have a good bulk of young players at the club and we need that with the likes of Osman, Hibbert, Neville, Distin and Cahill all 30 or over.
Lookingh forward to seeing who comes through and breaks into the first team, this is the Everton way and what makes us a respected and great club, too many clubs going out spending 20-30 million when you may have the same if not better talent sitting in your youth team !!
Paul

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Totally agree Paul, The coaches and club are doing a fantastic job with the young players at Everton, and as Moysey says everyone will get there chance at our club. I'm hoping that we get see a couple of the these young lads involved in the first team before the end of this season and definitely next season. IMWT

Just watched silva on you tube playing for man city. not david silva. the kid we just signed. looks very good on the ball, two footed, quick, good passer and box to box player. we have some young players coming through and into this club for little or no fees. boads well for the future.

I think it's so important that in the summer we just keep the current squad together, so that means we spend any money we have on signing Drentha, Dennis, Peanuts and hopefully Donovan!
For me, I love Peanuts but the most important one would be Donovan, the amount of goals he has set up since he joined is unbelievable and his play is brilliant!
Only probably is I bet Galaxy would want £10 million for him!
If im completely honest i dont think we'll sign Drentha permanently either, i dont think Moyes is that bothered about having him!
I do believe though we just really need to keep these current players together and then have the likes of Barkley, Duffy, Vellios, Green, Junior etc coming through and making their way into the side!
What do you think Ed?
Mickey Blue Eyes {Ed001's Note - MLS decide player prices and it is them you have to deal with, they are not keen on letting their top stars go on permanent deals right now. With the youth coming through, I am not sure there is a need for Donovan, Barkley in particular needs to get first team football to progress.}

Have you seen our run home in the league?! 13 games to go and there's only 3 would you could say were likely to lose: arsenal, tottenham and manu.
If we continue our efforts and hit some ECM better form those 13 games could mean 22 points at least. If we do well it could be more! Top 7 isn't out of reach. IMWT

Best XI Ed? Without Donovan
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Osman Rodwell Fellaini Pienaar
Straq Jelavic

I have to say we play with more intent when denis is on the pitch but we need to play 2 up front in that case. If we had 2 up front would it be Straq and Jelavic? Or with one upfront who would you 3 central midfielders be? Osman, Rodwell and Fellaini for me.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I like the look of your team you have there, i rate Osman he is very under rated but i see him as a central Midfielder or just behind the striker so maybe Coleman or Drenthe fighting for a place on the right although Drenthe needs to improve bits of his game.

Agree0 Disagree0

What are our thoughts, Ed? {Ed025's Note - i think we have a plethora of midfield talent, osman will give us even more options, drenthe is still adjusting to life in the prem, but im confident he will come good..

Against Blackpool I'd rather see Jelly than Stracq if we could. Stracq is insane with his effort and against bigger teams that we need to dig in against I think that he'll do great but against Holloway's Blackpool, we will get chances and space, and we need someone clinical to take them.

Evening Fellow Blues,

Regarding Rodwells persistant hamstring problem.

And before I start can I apologise for
mentioning these two players on our
site, but they are a point in case and before playing for the RS they were both Blues.

Steven Gerrard in his early days
suffered with persistant groin and hamstring problems. This was eventually rectified by removing his wisdom teeth. Wierd I know but
As I understand it, it had to do with his jaw position and the subsequent position of his neck which affected his posture and that affected the way he ran and subsequently the constant
injuries.

Michael Owen's injuries were due to
the car he owned and his driving position
again his posture when he drove
affected his legs and strain put on his hamstrings

Now I'm not saying that this is whats up with Jack
But what I am saying is it might not be
a weakness and once they get to the cause
he will be able to play with greater confidence
knowing that his hamstring isn't going to pop everytime he over does it, hence he won't play within himself.

I believe Jack will be one of our greatest players in the years to come. But lets sort this issue out with his injuries and let the kid develop rather than people suggesting we cash in.

Moysie is developing our squad which is small enough as it is, he is also trying to reduce the age
of the squad, whilst maintaining that core of experience.

Just have patience and believe.

COYB IMWT.

Night night Ed25 I hope DFS have given you a sofa bed

Big C {Ed025's Note - i always sleep well big c...we evertonians can always rest assured that whatever comes or goes, we support the best team on the planet!, we dont have the most money, or the best ground, but what we do have no money can buy...loyalty...

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I dont think it is a BIG problem yet regarding Rodwell and his hamstring injury. Fact is, he sustained a hamstring injury, it happens to a lot of players, and the reason why he suffered one straight away was simply because he was under prepared and not ready to play, which Moyes was fuming at.

Let him recover to 100% and then if he suffers another hamstring injury, they could look into it, but right now, it was the medical staff at fault for the reoccurence of the hamstring injury.

Agree0 Disagree0

Medical staff at fault at Everton? - hmm - where've we heard that before - lot's of times I think - who's in charge there?

I know we need a player like drenthe.. someone who is explosive and will run at players. But for me he does not work on the left, against Villa he caused so many problems because he never helped out baines at all. Baines loves to get forward and he needs someone to support him, like pienaar did a lot against chelsea. Personally i think that Drenthe may work really well on the right, both hibbert and neville are a lot more defensive than baines and he can cut inside and use that left foot. Biggest problem with this is were Coleman comes in, he couldnt lay right back with drenthe rm because this would cause the same issue with baines on the left.

So for me the question is Coleman, a hard working player who we all know can be quality on his day or Drenthe who can also be quality on his day but drifts out of games and has been known to be a disruptive influence when things arent quite going his way. Personally I think Drenthe is a luxury we can't afford and I cant see him being happy coming off of the bench
