Funny it seems so many people don't want to be in Europe next season. As a football club are we really in a position to be turning competitions down? We haven won anythin in 20 years, and I really feel we'd have more of a chance of getting a CL spot via the europa league. Does anyone really feel with no europe we'll compete for a CL spot next season? Given the money Chelsea Everton Arsenal City Liverpool & Spurs are going to spend this summer? Personally I don't feel its a realistic target. Just my opinion but I dont. I feel another year of Europa would benefit the club, the manager, players & fans. My dad tells me he had great nights watchin the cup winners cup, nobody would care about that comp now, & its a big part of our history. The point being Europe is a way to get our brand out there, also, who wouldn wanna go back to Germany to watch football?

Only need 2 take a look @ our involvement in Europa league this season.
Got to last 16 then when we play quality like Kiev we were taken to the cleaners & that's what's cost us in the league.
Muppet Martinez put all his eggs in 1 basket in the hope we could win it & get that all important champs league spot he promised to deliver when he walked thro the door.
Make or break time for Martinez next season.
I think we've gone backwards & I repeat we play similar footy 2 Wigan & we all know were they ate don't we

Fair enough Ed, we all have our opinions mate. Do you feel we can push for a top four spot Ed? Also, meant to say Everton instead of Everton in the spendin part, must have been wishful thinkin, or my after work drink

While playing in europe in terms of individual games is nice, its nothing but a distraction. Too much travelling, too many games and it benefits no one, the money is terrible. i'm also not worried by liverpool or spurs as neither know how to spend money properly. While I don't think cl is possible, playing in the europa league will only make everything else worse.

Also, I feel if the manager and board had done last summer what they said they were going to do and sign 8 players & the manager not be so ridiculous with rotation & balance of the side europe wouldn be so bad.

Then we would have 8 players too many this season with no Europe, I don't want this dope flooding the squad with average joes, I don't trust him in the market one bit, but let's hope he starts the season more organised than last because it was sham that continued to april

Thing with the fair play place is your season then starts in July because you go into the qualifying rounds. Last thing we need is a disruptive pre season so for me its a thanks but no thanks have a season of concentrating on improving domestically and if we do then qualify for Europe then we should be better prepared. Watch what happens to Southampton or Swansea next season if they qualify for the Europa they will probably endure a season like we have this season.

Find it hard to believe so many are against and as preki says we all want top five next season or would fans on hear prefer to finish 7th 8th next season really like wots the point mind boggling this site
