The only real measure of a club is not its style of play or the quality of its players its the points tally at the end of the season. remember the league table does not lie!
We have played 23 games, won 6, drawn 11 and lost 6, our home form would see us relegated!
We have not won in the league for 6 games and I hear the media echoing the words 'to good to go down' which is of some concern, especially as our management team seem incapable of reversing our current form trend.
The clubs below are strengthening in the window which can give these clubs a real boost, while I know its not easy to bring in the right player in January, they have had all season to identify and pursue these targets.
Please tell me someone at the top is aware of our predicament and has not just buried their head in the sand and hopes it will sort itself out!

Serious question,
Player for player, do you consider yourself better/ worse/ same as Leicester?

29 Jan 2016 13:34:51
A lot better trouble is we have a championship/Lge 1 manager at best

29 Jan 2016 14:08:34
at least the tinker man tinkers! Ours does nothing, same old!

I want to say we are better dags and although I believe the table doesn't lie I find it hard to say we are worse.

They play to there strengths and there manager ain't a blinkered bulls&@ting idiot who thinks he is superior it's frustrating mate we have enough quality to be fighting for European places but he doesn't have the nouse.

I have said all along that he signs inferior players and I stick by that. Without Lukaku we aare a relegation destined team and I know Swan and co say I go on and on about things after they have happened. but Iam telling you all that his goals are the only difference between us being an average side and a poor side. I agree that he has made one or two decent signings, but overall our squad is in a much worse position than under Moyes. The goals that Lukaku scores mask the fact that our outfield players are ones that do not score enough goals for their positions. Add to this a style of play that means we are leaking goals left righ and centre. a recipe for relagation. I said it about 5 games in and also said if Lukaku suffers form loss or injury, then the writing was on the wall. I was ridiculed and comparisons were recently made about what would happen to Barcelona if Messi got injured. ridiculous comparison because Barcelona have 10 other quality players. We have probably 2 or 3. Signings of Lennon, McGeady, Kone are poor when you think they are replacing Naismith, Osman, possibly Mirallas and Fellaini. The table does not lie. We drew too many under Moyes. but we draw far more under Martinez. We might score more goals overall. due almost soley to Lukaku and Barkley. but players like Barkley, Lennon, Deulefeu, McGeady are poor defensively. Barry, Besic and McCarthy are aso great defensively but not so good going forwards. but I digress. relying onone or two players is ok in the short term. but in thewhole scheme of things a very big risk.

Fair comments,
I look at Vardy and I match him with Lukaku.

I look at Mahrez and match him with Doofy (at a push) .

Kante and Barkley?

I can barely name the Leicester defence but know Stones, Baines (Galloway) , Coleman and Jags.

Leicester have a fantastic team spirit, but I have always said that about Everton.

So, why are they so far ahead of you?
Although, in fairness, they are top of the league, so are ahead of everybody.

Do all shortcomings fall at Martinez's feet?

We have a much better squad than Leicester, just they play to their strength's, we don't. They have a good good manager, we don't. They are not lazy, we are.

"One or two decent signings", Lukaku, Galloway, Barry, Lennon (poor? Saved us last season) , Besic, Deulofeu, Cleverley, Mori and Joel. I can't wait to find out which 2 are decent and the rest being garbage.

The comparison was made because if Meesi gets injured, will Turan or Vidal get 50 goals a season? I doubt it.

Have you ever thought that the reason Besic and that don't score more often is because of the manager coaching them that way? . He's made it clear he wants open play goals and perfect goals, so it's obviously going to be very rare that a holding midfielder or full back score. It doesn't make Besic garbage or Deulofeu garbage because they don't score more. Under Moyes Osman etc scored more goals because Moyes didn't have a clue how to do anything with strikers so the goals had to come from elsewhere. What also plays a factor is Lennon and Deulofeu are RIGHT FOOTED and play on the right. Their job is to create goals (Del boy does this very well, only behind Ozil in assists) not score them. Would Messi score as many goals if he was told to hug the touchline on the left and never drift inside? Of course not. That goes for most players, that's why Mirallas does well, he can cut in from the left.

It is not Deulofeu's job to defend, City don't tell Silva to run back, nor do Arsenal with Ozil. Calling him poor defensively is the equivalent of saying Howard doesn't score enough goals. Lennon also isn't poor defensively, better defender than Coleman.

Good posts Gunner. It is baffling. Swan and Degsypulford I can see where your both coming from.

Degsypulford I like you can see the great benefits Moyes can bring. Problem is when Swan see's Moyes he automatically argues against Moyes. Doesn't matter what it's about. Swan will never see Moyes as a good manager no matter what.

Saying that I agree with Swan that Martinez overall made good dealings in the transfer. Even though Swan only points out the good ones they definitely do outweigh the bad ones. Even if they don't score as much as previous midfielders, I think that's just Martinez's way and tactics.

I think there is a good amount of goals in Barkley, Del boy and Mirallas if they were played properly.

Although Swan, really, Lennon is better defender than Coleman. Totally disagree with that. Don't think many would agree with that. I'd actually like to see a pole to see how many people think Lennon is a better defender than Coleman.

Come to think of it didn't you slate Martinez for playing Lennon right back before Swan? If my memory serves me right it was after Lennon played there you slated Martinez. If I'm wrong about that I apologise in advance.

I did because it's ridiculous playing him right back, he isn't big enough to cope. But one on one he is solid, unlike Coleman who's been tortured by just about every winger he's faced this season. One of the reasons we improved last season, Lennon helping Coleman.

I didn't list the bad as Degsy already did that, though of course None, McGeady, Alcaraz and Traore fall in to that.
