Sigurdson’s Goal on Sunday would not count next season with the rule changes. Penalties will be like penalty kicks once the keeper saves it the ball is dead.

To be fair he shouldn't be taking them anyway he's rubbish at penalty's.

Who should step up? DCL to increase his goals tally. Richarlison or maybe Digne.

How about lookman to get him going now we are safe and have nothing left to play for.

Never seen anyone take one apart from sigs. Very unlikely lookman will be on the pitch when we next have one though so think that’s a non starter.
Need to have someone who is good at penalties rather than just to get someone’s tally up or to give someone confidence. I don’t fancy Richarlison at penalties - I reckon Digne could be good but I’m sure they are looking at this as we can’t continue with sigs.

I haven’t heard that rule that once it’s saved it’s dead - don’t really get that to be honest. if they foul someone before shooting there is a chance that shot would be saved but chance on rebound - don’t see why teams should not get chance of a rebound with penalty.

Next season Pickford I bet he'd love that.

I thought the same with Digni having a go.

Singing the blues. I think in Siguurdsons case and other similar ones that rule would be challenged. Technically the penalty was not saved because the ball was still live and in play (keeper did not have possession) , a rebound, not a save.

It’s a ridiculous rule. Why change it anyway? The rebound could go anywhere so could be defended as much as stuck in the net. Just leave it alone.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely ace..

Singing the blues is right all penalties that are saved or hit the goal frame and come back out will be dead and a goal kick given. This then eradicates encroachment by the players and is seen to level it up in fairness as the team missing the penalty has an advantage as they have a player in the box to hit any rebound. Think its a stupid rule change myself but it will be in force next season.

With the new change of a player being subbed and leaving by the nearest touch line to avoid time wasting, one other rule which is a big pet hate of mine is the taking of short corners near the end of a match.

Two rules I would change is an attacking team mate also has to retreat the same distance as the defending team as one change, and the second being, the ball has to be inside the semi corner circle, without touching the outer semi circle line.

Calvert-Lewin for me, he takes them for England U-21 and scores most of them if not all.
