Dear Eds and Fellow Blues
Just suggestion, but tomorrow as a mark of respect, could we devote the day to a celebration of Howard's contribution to our great club?
The guy deserves posts from all who remember those great times.

(On Friday 'Bobby Brown Shoes' debate continues? )

Well said Mushy. A few isolated memories. I saw Howard's home debut. It wasn't the most impressive. The Holy Trinity was something else. The collapse of the 69/70 team and Howard marshalling a lot of young players in a struggling side. The wonderful balance to the team that he built as a manager. Finally the personal letter he sent to my lad when he wrote in asking for autographs.

Totally agree Mushy, like Tedster I remember Howard's debut (He had a lot of pressure on him as he replaced Jimmy Gabriel, but came into his own the following season), he was a part of the finest Everton team it was my privilege to watch, without a doubt he kept us in the old 1st division in the early 70's, and then gave us those marvellous times in the 80's. The word legend is used too easily these days, but for Howard Kendall 'Everton Legend' is a fitting epitaph. Thanks for the memories Howard sleep well.

Doom doom and gloom. What is wrong with everyone. We have some of the best yes best young talent in Europe let alone England we now have a well balanced squad yes we need a player that can see a pass that will change a game but those players cost 30 - 40 million and until we can spend that amount of money or we discover one then we will have to be patient and enjoy and encourage what we have. Let's not forget Leeds chasing the dream . So let's all have a reality check and get behind the boys and let us not forget that we are evertonians born and not manufactured.

Agree 100% but when many of us see some very good players managed and coached so badly it would be utterly wrong not to protest.
The vast majority of us on this site remember times before Sky bought football.

More importantly we need a Manager that can not only adapt his tactics to the current opposition but recognise the players in form and play them in their correct positions best to enhance the Team.

Just a quick one can a player actually drop himself for the good of the club if he feels he is not playing good enough if so give Howard a little nudge.

Martinez, 'We were fantastic'.
For the love of God how much longer will we have to put up with this guy?
We have stumbled and spluttered into the quarters in spite of his efforts to get us knocked out.
Fantastic? We looked totally knackered in extra time and won on a penalty shoot out at home to Norwich.
Not good enough.

Okay, a little off topic, but over here in the States I made a appalling discovery. In a local sports megastore in Jacksonville, I stumbled upon the football jersey rack. Barcelona had a couple. Arsenal, Chelsea, both had two different ones. Man U had 4, and a scarf too. Oh, and the Reds had three different jerseys. Yeah, no Everton.

Tim. come home to MLS. It's Robles-time.

First of all wanted to say. Today was the first time I've taken my little brother to an Everton game myself. I told him tales how the goodison roar and the atmosphere of goodison couldn't be beaten. But what I witnessed today was NOT RIGHT I've never heard it so quite.

For starters the team was booed off at half time! Now don't get me wrong the first half was a shocker. No passion or fight. But you know what was worse than there performance? The CROWD.

Not a single song in the first half. We went 1 down and then started to get behind the team! And things looked a lot better!

I think us fans need to realise how much we we can influence a game. And how turning on our own just makes it worse?

Rant over just happy to walk away with a win. And what a performance by Robles he was the reason we have progressed to the next room und a very different end to the night without him' Fully deserving of his chance But we all know who will be in goal come Sunday.

Very well put mate, I think a lot of fans are spoilt by Martinez's first season so sit there and wait to be impressed in silence. When it doesn't happen they moan as much as possible. The fans only seem bothered to sing now when it is against a really good team or Liverpool. It annoys me when I see fans spinning some sob story about how they work hard for their tickets and have a right to scream abuse at players. Well then, don't go, don't sit there anytime we are not doing well and hurl all sorts at the players then sit in silence when we play well. I've never seen anything like it, teams may get booed at full time like Chelsea now. We do it regardless, 3-0 up vs QPR and keeping the ball? 'Boooooooo'. Playing really well against Man City 0-0 at half time? 'Boooooooo'. The fans do play a big part in how we play, everyone wanting us to hoof it after 3 passes along the floor. Then booing when the players don't hoof it, then booing when they do. Hate to say it but we may well have thw worst home fans in the country.

I have to agree with you there, being from Kent don't get the chance to go up goodison enough so my fixtures mainly evolve around away games. Such as Arsenal, Spurs Chelsea etc. So maybe I am abit spoilt with the away support.

I sat in the park end as my brother is only young. Can't wait to take him to the lower glads from next year. But more to the point. I first had witnessed fans. Hurl abuse at the players especially stones, Barkley and McCarthy. Now yes. Stones spent to long on the ball and at times takes the cocky option? But isn't that why we fought so hard to keep him? Because e has that flair and why we batted back a £35 million bid.

Really pains me as myself only being 19. When our club wasn't in the greatest place. Scraping though the league. We hands down had the best atmosphere and a 12th man even when losing games. Get behind the team, give them the confidence and let's see what they can do then!

Wins a win - now let's focus on sunday.

I 100% agree with your comment above KB Blue. Bout how much the fans could help the team by cheering them on. I absolutely hate booing. Whenever someone is beside me booing I just cringe so much.

As you say KB Blue (and I've said it before myself) the crowd could inspire the players. Make Goodison the 12th man on the pitch. Would be more useful putting that on a banner and flying it over the pitch during game day.

Surely would be better than the sh*t people had on the banners over the ground previously.

I never boo but I can see why fans do how many games have we now been left exposed on the left hand side because he plays the wrong player there I feel really sorry for galloway then oviedo against Norwich Then there is Osman who is one of my favorite players but you could see v norwich he just hasn't got the legs anymore even when the final sub was being made he was jogging off only to be shocked and see mirallas was coming off not him, the players have to take responsibility and get the crowd going as well its not just down to the fans its down to what happens on the pitch.
