I think heitinga should get an extended run in our back 4. He has played out of position and i believe he is a quality defender and we are not proper using his talents. What do you think ed? {Ed025's Note - he is a quality defender...but in midfield?...the jury is still out for me!..

So the yak has rejected a move to blackburn then !??
Beckford need's a partner up front and i cant think of anyone better? give us YAKUBU! think about it...we would have everything up front, fat and thin, power and pace and more importantly they both have the ability to score goals! GOALS, GOALS and more GOALS!
If the yak has a run of games in the team he will score, short memories lads it was only 2 years ago he became the first everton player in 20 years to score more than 20 goals in one season

If you look in the everton programme on the opening day of the season against QPR and look on the page where it shows what businesses are sponsoring what everton players, yobo and beckford are not listed, yet yakubu is, could this mean that everton expect them to be sold?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Means nothing that mate, its what sponsors do each programme.
In the sheff united game, osman, neville, rodwell, hibbert, distin, gueye and cahill aren't sponsored, means nothing mate

My argument is...We have no money for transfers and we cant get free transfers because we can't afford more wages. If Pienaar was still with us, it would be because he signed a new contract, making him one of the higher earners. We could afford to offer him a new contract and keep him on, but we can't afford to offload him and not replace him with a free transfer on lesser wages? Yes, the £3million fee went to the bank, but his wages could go to a free transfer or loan player. I'm all for keepng our best payers and extending their contracts, but right now we're losing players and not even replacing them with free transfers or loans. Even James Vaughan has gone, thats another player off the books (albeit he wasnt paid megabucks, but still...). And the board can honestly say we can't get ONE free transfer in on HALF the combined wages of the 2 players we lost? No logic what-so-ever.

Rumours goin round that we are after sunderands keeper mignolet as motes doesn't think Howard is good enough and wants competition. {Ed025's Note - i thin motes??..is very happy with tim..

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Tim Howard is one of the best in the premiership and Mucha is a capable deputy {Ed025's Note - how right you are..

Agree0 Disagree0

I know, after last weeks performance we should be looking at a new keeper, Howard was SHOCKING eh?

GP

Agree0 Disagree0

Tim Howard is a legend. The last thing we need is another keeper. We need players for the other end of the pitch {Ed025's Note - i agree

Agree0 Disagree0

I rate Howard highly, I'm not blind to his faults but he is a good keeper. He must have a good record with pens to, I remember before the Utd semi he always seemed to go the right way but not quite keep them out, since that shoot out I reckon he must have saved as many as he's let in if not more. {Ed025's Note - does he have faults?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn last season may I remind you Ed?...
Howard is God though, it's okay:) {Ed025's Note - we all have our bad days..i remember my wedding.......lol

So folks, Just over 24 hours until the window is completely shut until JAN, ED do you have any inclings into any news, surely their must be something in the pipeline?? I have just hoping that we dont let a big player go and either all money goes to bank or we dont have enough time to re-invest...your thoughts please ED...Keep up the good work {Ed025's Note - the window was never open for us mate...a loan signing at best , i think,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think a quality striker on loan will do us. If we can pick up our form and get coleman back fit then i think we will do alright this season {Ed025's Note - come on david....pull some strings...get us a new face.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bellamy, macheda or sturridge would fit the bill for me {Ed025's Note - and me fella..

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope velios gets a chance if we don't bring anyone in. Gueye and velios look like promising attacking players {Ed025's Note - we need a good forward, who is ready now!..they are young, with bags of potential, but we need a new face...to freshen things up!..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we could get 6th if we got sturridge on loan. It would give the place such a lift {Ed025's Note - and thats exactly what we need..

Agree0 Disagree0

Fingers crossed for tomorrow. COYB {Ed025's Note - and toes...arms ...legs..

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you heard any credible rumours ed? {Ed025's Note - the only one i believe...is no one in. and no one out..

Riddle me this Ed and fellow blues. Last week on SSN we were one of the clubs linked with putting a bid in for Onouha (spelling sorry!). So even if it was tuppence a week for the next thousand years there must be some cash available in the transfer kitty.. Because I wouldn't think we'd put bids in on th the basis of maybe selling someone. I know Moyesie has said Yak and Yobo will get a 2nd chance but I just think we might get a surprise come transfer deadline. Hopefully a pleasant one. IMWT COYB. {Ed025's Note - im afraid there is no dosh in the kitty..we cant even afford a rumour..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I am sure moyes will do all he can to get someone in, he knows we are short of attacking options {Ed025's Note - i hope so mate..

The main reason why Yobo and yakubu arent attracting interest is that they are both likely to go to the african cup of nations in january, who would pay good money for players that are going to be away for 5 crucial weeks when they can get younger english players. They will be everton players this season. {Ed025's Note - good point fella..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Moyes will probably bring yak and yobo back into the squad. Can you see them getting a chance in the first team ed? {Ed025's Note - hopefully..NO!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes will only play them two as a last resort. He is more likely to give velios a run out up front {Ed025's Note - cant see it myself..but i hope he does..

Well until next time......

The 'Panther' {Ed025's Note - happy holidays panther...but you are hardly mystic meg predicting no one in, no one out!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I think ill wait to see for myself! Thanks anyway!

We went for demba ba so i presume we can afford to get someone in on loan.I hope something happens tomorrow

Yobo and Yakubu going nowhere according to moyes on the website.
Moves for both of them looking unlikely so moyes prepered to give them a chance, yakubu content and wouldn't mind staying, i am fairly happy with this, i know he is lazy and his attitude can sometimes be awful, but simple fact is id the ball comes to him in the box 9 times out of 10 he will score......... better than anichebe anyway

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Totally agree! He is our best finisher! Hope Moyes gives him a chance again!

Him and Saha perfect together

If both could get fit and stay fit and give 100 % we woukd not need strikers

It's a big if though

Basically Saha drops off deep and we can leave Yak up top to beast teams

Yak and Becks be ok too {Ed025's Note - so you think we may not need a striker...hmmmm...i beg to differ..

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally that yak out of the 4 striker's we have is our best finisher in the box !
Him and beckford could work ive said this all pre season and was amazed moyes didn't experiment with them both !
We do need another striker though, i think 4 striker's SAHA, BECKFORD, YAKUBU and someone on loan who is good would be a decent strike force

Agree0 Disagree0

Yak and Beckford would be a good strikeforce in my opinion. The yak played well when he got a chance at the start of last season. I remember he was man of the match in the derby

Agree0 Disagree0

This will proabably be the yaks last chance at this level, he needs to show us he can still perform

From the display at Old Trafford on Sunday Arsenal will need a solid back 4 if there gonna compete for a top 4 finish this season. They've got the money, so I reckon they're going to go all guns blazing to try and get Jag on board - £20 mil... Hopefully that's being discussed today giving DM a chance to pull his finger out and get a; £5m winger, £10m striker, £5m in the bank and use yobo in place of Jag..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

With two new sponsorship deals in place we may not need to sell to please the banks, the money from the sponsors could satify them which means all money from transfers could be reinvested into the squad! Im just guessing but im sure the sponsorship deals between them could be worth a few million, not seen any news on how much they are worth yet! So who knows im hoping for the best i know im being extremely optimistic :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga instead of Jags, Yobo is a suspect defender these days short off confidence at everton {Ed025's Note - and lacking heart..

when was the last time we saw an everton team put in such a lack lustre display as this saturday? easy first game last year after another disappointing summers lack of transfer activity! we can even move on two international players for below the going rate, and why is that? again simple because the board have the club in a financial crisis even lower league sides can wait it out and take the piss with undervalued offers that we will have no option but
to take! what happened to the once proud ' bank of england' !! sorry bill put up or get out, this year youve surpassed yourself!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

How often have we seen the Blues dominate and come away empty handed?
For once we had luck on our side deservedly or not. Last Wednesday, I mentioned that we should see more of Mucha but once again Howard confounded his critics, me included, and kept us in the game single handed. {Ed025's Note - he,s in the top 3 prem goalies..

***Maiden***

Stoke in talks with Chelsea over loan signing of Lukaku...

Come on Moyesie and BK...get involved!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Wont happen, theres a rule that states a club can not loan out a player that has been bought in the same transfer window! But can be done in january!

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you sure? It must be just for engliush clubs then, because chelsea have send Courtois to Atletico madrid I think...

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea have loaned out that greek keeper they have bought?

Agree0 Disagree0

***Maiden***

Hmmm...fair enough if that is true mate.

But why would Stoke have bothered in the first place? Surely they know the rules.

Would probably prefer Sturridge if any Chelsea player is being sent on loan. Not saying he is a better player because I don't know much of Lukaku but Sturridge has proved he can score goals in the PL.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scratch that!

Just read on SSN that the move has been denied due to EPL rules...good call mate!

Sturridge will have to do then ha!

The yak should play up front with Beckford, Saha can come off the bench. Anichebe has never really impressed me as a player, from my view point he is a lazy player

Moyes to include both yakubu and yobo to the first team squd if they are still here once window closes! Whats everyones thoughts on tht? I think it makes sence, strengthens the squad a bit.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

I be happy with Yak as long as he plays up top with another striker! Becks and Yak could work

Agree0 Disagree0

Especially yakubu !! He can score giving a good run in the team

Billys deserves a chance in the middle. If Nasri & David Silva can manage the physical side of it why cant Billy.

I think the next two days will show what kind of a state we're in re the people running things at Everton.
So far I've sympathised with Kenwright but if signings / transfers dont happenin the next two days I think serious qustions have to be asked about who's responsible for this at the club.
Not having much money is one thing, but completely failing to do any wheeling n dealing with what you do have would be a complete disaster I think.I think the fans would then want to know who was controlling transfer strategy - Moyes, Kenwright or someone else - and some big questions would have to be asked about why even simple transfers are not coming off.
(personally I think we have to pull out all the stops to get Donovan plus at least one usefullish striker but my main concern is if we do nothing at all then we could be in a bit of trouble)

Now that van persie has asked to leave, moyes has kindly offered yobo + 1 mill. seems very fair considering some of the " great " offers AW has made to us, and others for their best players.

Osman/Gueye on the left, Barkley, Fellaini & Arteta in the middle and Coleman on the right, I look forward seeing this 5 man midfield when everyone return from injuries, I see a lot of potential there

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Is that you Moysey?! David, 4-5-1 doesn't work mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2011 00:17:48
I can only assume that Anichebe looks a world beater in training and that Moyes doesn't bother watching the match when we are attacking as he has got to be one of the worst centre forwards in the premiership. The problem is always that the players around him know he's poor so the ball doesn't get played to areas it should do and the oppostion know we carry little threat and consequently can push up the field. Beckord, Baxter, Vellios anybody have got to be better. Why can't managers see what everybody else can, it's a mystery. {Ed025's Note - it really is!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I think anichebe would be a good championship player, but i would like to see velios having a chance and hopefully beckford continuing his progress from last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor must have a photograph of Moyes in a compromising position that he gets out just before team selection!! Its the only explanation!

Manchada on loan and Shaun Wright-Phillips is undecided whether to join us or Bolton. {Ed025's Note - they would be great loan signings..and would not have to move sticks.....come on david..do the business..

We can't panic after 2 games. Sunderland, Newcastle, villa and arsenal have all sold their best players were we have kept them. We also have some good youngsters coming through and an excellent manager. COYB
