I’m wondering if this one will ever happen. Reports saying Juve want a buy back clause that’s only a few million more than the transfer fee. There’s not much value In that deal. And it doesn’t really fit the profile of our recruitment policy of buying under 25 years for future squad investment.
Also with 3 weeks to go, it’s just a matter of time before a CL club looks at him and then we’re pretty much out of it.

Then that just leaves Rafael Leão as a linked forward that has any legs, and that one is going to be a struggle with a lot of clubs interested.
Zaha is way beyond our price range. And players like Mandzukic too old. It’ll be interesting to see where the club turn their attention to next to improve the forward line.

Is it Valencia Ed? Good strikers are hard to come by. We might just end up with DCL and Tosun with an older striker to make up the numbers.

Zouma not coming, CB's choice looks like Kean and Mina - was asked by smit to name a failure well Mina is it -. First game is 10th August, we currently have a weaker Squad than last Season. So far no striker coming in but for me we already have a striker, we have to run Tosun as an out and out striker, with the support and chances given by Bernard, Richarlison, Siggurdson then Tosun played properly will be our answer. Midfield if Gueye stays is plenty good enough. RB is a concern with backup needed for Coleman. Lots of outgoings (needed) but Squad depth is now poor.

Still 3 weeks BCT, and this time last summer we only had Richarlison signed. A lot can happen quickly. Improvements will be made I’m sure. I’m just at a loss as to who our real targets are.

If you class Mina as a failure because he was injured then that is a bit harsh. He looked decent in most of the games he did play in, and it is hard to judge when he didn't get a run of games. For a player who was injured and considering it was his 1st season, I wouldn't expect too much more from him.
On that basis Tosun was a failure too last season.
We can't just call players a failure without giving them time.
As for Tosun, playing him up front on his own isn't playing to his strengths, he isn't quick enough and can't hold the ball up. Maybe you see something different to me though. He might be a decent striker in a 2 but I haven't seen any evidence he can do it as a lone striker.
Panic stations again for some on here. Personally I trust Marco to get us some quality signings in before the deadline.

I’d like To have seen Tosun and DCL up front together in pre-season. Tosun is a better finisher but DCL has pace and can hold the ball up. Problem then would be dropping a DM and I’d be worried about our defence.

Mina was brought in on the strength of his goal against us. He has been awful. Tosun does not need to hold the ball up he is a penalty area player and we have the width and No10 to feed him. He should not have to come looking for the ball, that is not his talent.

Wrong Bill. Walsh would buy a player because he scored against us but not Marco.
I'm not sure which Everton you watch but Tosun like DCL would need to hold the ball up, he's too slow to counter attack with our other pacey players and who is going to cross it into him?
I think you are probably longing for the Allardyce way to play but we don't play like that.
We are a counter attacking team like it or not.
We press and attack or counter attack. Tosun just can't cope with that way of playing.

Every home game mate. We were awful against Leicester then Tosun came on (to late) , Bernard moved right, crossed and Tosun was unlucky with his effort (penalty area) . Wide men press, Tosun penalty area, watch him playing for Turkey or when he was at Besiktas. He is a very good player.

He didn't play up front on his own for Besiktas.
He isn't good enough to play in our squad or formation.
The only person who doesn't see that is you.
He was an Allardyce purchase for the kick and go brigade and we aren't that anymore.
Move on, sell him and let's find someone who is better.
