Hello fellow bloues I'm new to this I was just wondering if any of the Eds (if they don't mind) think usmanov would be welcomed to join Everton on the board in the future or just keep sponsoring. Also what exactly is going on with finance at the min with Everton it sounds worrying at the min or is it just a short term problem.

{Ed002's Note - The club is in very serious financial problems.}

It makes me even more surprised Ancellotti took the job, if we are in a financial mess, I thought he woukd of been coaxed with a large promise of transfer funds, or am I way off the mark, i know you don't like talking with fans about the finances.

{Ed002's Note - Carlo took the job because Everton has made him the third highest paid coach in the world.}

What is likely to be Evertons course of action to get the finances looking more healthy Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - There is a thought amongst certain parties that right now that they might continue spending money they don’t have, take any punishment and then sort it out. I can’t see that as being a viable way forward. But it is a real mess.}

Maybe stating the obvious but this is a mess of our own making. Not party to what goes on in the background but those advisor (s) alluded to by ED, surely have to go.

Is Everton in this mess financially because we have to many players on the wage bill or is it other reasons . if it's because we have so many players how many players would you think we have to sell or let go and not just from the first team to get us back on the straight and narrow . or if due to other reasons how can the club move forward with a new stadium if it's in such a mess financially?

{Ed002's Note - it is unrelated to the stadium - that will largely be a separate debt. The problem is the 85% of turnover goes on wages, large sums are going to advisors and agents, and money is being spent on buying players without offsetting costs against wages. This is completely unsustainable and needs either significantly increased turnover or player sales - although it is hard to see how the books from this year can be balanced which will lead to the enevitable.}

Doesn’t help we are no better off in league position or any nearer to Europe despite all the spending / wages!

At least when city / Chelsea / Liverpool did there spending they went on to win league / Europe etc.

Unfortunately for us - 7-8 clubs have equal or more money and spending doesn’t guarantee success on and off field.

To attract players we have to pay more wages and I’m guessing more to agents.

Sandro prime example - I’m sure he could retire now on the money we have given him for his one goal.

On a better note - Kenny sin again yesterday - shalke are only one point of Byern Munich.

Thanks ed . but why can't the owners see and understand what's going on and realized they are spending to much if they are successful business men?

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, it is rare that owners are involved with the day-to-day running of football clubs, although as we know he has influenced transfers and takes advice from two third parties. There is also the thought that taking a gamble on changing coaches and constantly changing players will bring success to Everton - it won't, so the gamble has not paid off. Arsenal was generally well run financially which is his previous experience of a football club - even though they have now taken a gamble that has failed and have a structure that needs completely gutting, they have the higher turnover that means they remain sustainable.}

Alright Edo2 I might be wrong but I thought someone posted a question about maybe four weeks ago about finances at everton and like I say I may be wrong or misunderstood your reply but I thought u said everton won't break ffp rules.

{Ed002's Note - Not this year - but next year when this years results come in they will - as I have explained.}
