Apparently had a bid turned down for Keane Lewis Potter from Hulk city I have no idea of he's any good but at least sounds like we are looking for young hungry players.

Yep mate.

Imo exactly the type of player we should be going for.

Young, hungry should be a prerequisite for most of our signings.

This lad would offer more. He has similar traits to Gordon, comfortable at going either way, quick over the early yards but i think he has more ability in terms of going past a man, putting them to the sword.

His movement in and around the box for me is where he would offer something different. Seems to have that ability to find space and be in the right spot at the right time.

The papers quoting 30m must be a joke though. If we could get him for 10-15 million on reasonable wages and offload an Allan or an Iwobi on ridiculous wages, then it would be a great bit of business.

I like the lad from Forest as well.

Sounds like a plan destined to fail getting two championship players when we just about survived relegation. Has worked out for us in the past though, a certain Mr Cahill springs to mind.

I for one would rather take a chance on the young hungry talent that have something to prove, than get more of the likes of Gomes, Delph etc.

You say that but until last year all of Brentford’s players were championship players and they’ve done well. You don’t fill your entire team with players from the championship but there are certainly players in there that have the ability to step up and be very good players in the EPL.

Good info JMW although for me Iwobi had become a very important member of our squad and if he carries on playing like he has under Frank then he will become a very good signing IMO.

Happy to admit he certainly improved under Lampard mate but for me i really don't think he is a good player. He has improved because he had been so bad previously. When he actually started working hard and running like he cared, the difference in performance becomes vast.

I never rated him at Arsenal and i genuinely think he is one of the worst signings we have ever made, especially when you take everything into consideration, like how much we spent on him and his output for us in terms of goals and assists. A few games where he works hard isn't going to change that reality, when previously i couldn't understand how he was managing to forge out a premier league career.

Granted he had had a good end to the season but most of his praise will have been earnt by his work rate. For me that should be a given. When you are on the pitch you should be putting everything in, for yourself, the fans and the club. Not to mention the fact you are a professional and are being paid handsomely for it.

We played the way we did at the end of last season because Frank realised we had to. I think when he gets the players he wants in, the shape and the way the team plays will change.

I don't see where he fits in. He isn't a good enough defender to risk playing at rwb and then i don't think he has enough quality to be in the attacking third either.

When he started playing under Lamps, from the Newcastle game onwards, in 12 games he got a goal and assist. Hardly decent numbers.

It is no secret that he is on high wages and for me his performances aren't reflective of his salary. I would rather sell him and invest in someone who has genuine ability and the work rate as a precursor to that ability.

I would much rather see us line up next season with the likes of a Gallagher or a Lewis Potter. Both already have boat loads more in ability, actually score and create goals and work harder than he has decided to suddenly show in a relegation scrap.

All the above said mate, I am just glad Frank seems to have gone some way to repairing the relationship between the fans and the playing staff and as a result, Goodison. He seems a good man and someone that you can get behind. I think he realises the importance this club has to the fans and equally how much bounce it can give the team to have those same fans right behind them.

Lets face it, we still have a lot of over-paid dead wood that needs moving on. Hopefully Frank and Thelwell go out and spot some young hungry talent that can replace them with.

Must admit though, i did enjoy the end to the season, felt like the 90's all over again. Goodison was absolutely rocking!

Spot on with everything you had said bud regarding Frank he has done something we haven't had for a long time he's brought the fans players and management team together and you can feel it in the ground although I never want to go through a game like the palace one again.
My mates a groundsman and he said head of security where speaking to him after the Chelsea game and he said Frank's pre match team talk was inspired screaming about people losing their jobs and being unable to pay their bills and told them to get out there and beat Chelsea and show them they care he certainly does understand what this club means to so many people and I'm excited to see what he can do.
