I haven't posted on here for ages and I fully agree Roberto has to go but here is my problem. Everyone is happy with Mourinho and Pellegrini being linked but both are unlikely for various reasons, which brings me onto my next point. I've seen people slagging off the idea of Eddie Howe being the next Everton manager but why? I'm got a lot of connections with Burnley and they raved about Howe when he was there and gutted when he went to Bournemouth again he has done fantastic there! And just to keep with the topic of Burnley managers Sean Dyche wouldn't be a bad shout either, if they had a foreign name we would be foaming at the mouth about them, let's get a grip and get behind who ever is in charge at the start of the new season!

{Ed025's Note - some very good points there duaney, all managers are a gamble but surely ones with pedigree would be more suitable than a novice, but thats just my opinion and i fully respect your views mate..

Eddie Howe isn't a novice, he has gone under the radar in the football leagues much the same as Sean Dyche. I fully take on your point Ed but we once employed a young Preston manager called David Moyes who saved us big time which we should all be grateful for.

{Ed025's Note - as i say duaney its all about opinions mate..

I think we should be looking at someone who will take the Club forward Duaney. Howe is decent, but as you've said yourself, we hired a manager of similar rep who saved us. We are no longer a club that needs saving (well we shouldn't be) . We are a club who need a manager with experience in guiding his teams to the Top of the Table. And someone who can manager players with big egos and such.

My biggest fear is that if we get someone like Howe or Dyche in, we'll become like Stoke with a standard manager who'll just be happy to be here and think that a cup semi-final and mid-table is good enough. If we want CL, and are serious about it, then we should look for a guy with that drive and experience.

Ok Ed if we had to think outside the box and get a manager who isn't a household name but you think that guy could take the club forward who would you choose? I've got to be honest I like the Rangers manager Warburton as well.

{Ed025's Note - warburton has done a great job at rangers duaney, but the scottish championship is hardly the strongest league and with a club of rangers stature you would expect him to do well, thats not wishing to take anything away from him as i think he has been superb, outside the box sanchez flores at watford and karanka at boro are making good reputations for themselves mate..

For me the issue with getting an Eddie Howe or a Sean Dyche is that, as we have some money to spend, we may not be able to attract the types of player we want without a big name. Can't see the likes of Lacazette joining us saying "It's always been my dream to play under Eddie Howe"

Qatari I love having discussions like this because it divides opinion. Howe and Dyche are both ambitious. I remember when we beat Burnley 3-1 at Turf Moor but there was an interveiw with Dyche about the lack of funds being given to him but he insisted he would rather the money went into the youth team and training facilities he had a 5 year plan. Yes he wanted Burnley to stop up but the look set to come back stronger than they have been.

Would you really trust a manager that has just one seasons experience in the top flight with our first big injection of money in a long time?

Me I would rather have someone who's done this before. Somebody at Burnley, again Burnley, saying he done well when he was with us is not a tick in the yes box I would be looking for. As for dyche I'd go with the same argument.
