One defeat and some fans want to sell players. I wasn't happy with the defeat or manor in which we were defeated but I woUldale rather drop players to prove they are not untouchable than sell them. Barkley IMO needs time out the side to sort his head out and have a break from the abuse he receives and give Tom Davies a run in the side. As for Del boy yes he has talent but rarely uses it, maybe studying David Silva will help him realise that a clever brain is needed to go with clever feet. It's upto the coaching staff and man management of the gaffer to get these 2 players back firing and not upto fans to sell them. I do believe this is a make or break season for Ross now to finally prove that he isn't a Jack Rodwell.

The problem is that firstly Tom Davies isn't a no.10, and secondly, you want to replace a young talent who is underperforming with a young talent that has little to no experience, in a vital attacking position. Glad you're not managing the team mate.

Although I agree that something needs to be done about Barkley, and that it's make or break for him. If he doesn't perform well, Koeman will just buy someone else who will.

{Ed025's Note - i hope he will tommy, there is a certain bias towards ross that because hes a local lad he should get preferential treatment, dont get me wrong the "local lad does well"scenario is fine but it cant be a burden on the team ethic mate..

I think when you look at the players we were unable to bring in before the window shut shows the clubs ambition to progress and move forward, the way we failed to sign these players is another area that requires improvement.
January will be another opportunity although somewhat limited, but this project was never going to happen overnight!

{Ed025's Note - your spot on there wakka mate..

That's why I'm glad we have got Koeman as manager. No sentimentality or favourites. If you are the best player for the team you will play. If not you will be replaced. The other good thing is that we now have the money to replace practically anyone in the team if necessary.

Maybe not like for like with Barkley and Davies but from what he has shown Davies can pass, can get forward and importantly can also tackle. The mistakes are still there with Ross and too often, he has is best games when he is given time on the ball like at home to Boro they invited play in front of them but against pressing teams like Sunderland did and Norwich he becomes average. Is he really a number 10? His assists and goals say he is but he needs to control games too. Hurts to say it but look what Gerrard was doing in games when he was 22.

The only current options we have to replace Ross is the equally frustrating Deulofeu, or putting Lennon out wide and Mirallas in the no.10 role. Certainly worth considering until we can buy some competition for him in January.

I love Tom Davies but I think he is more of an eventual replacement for Barry.

Worth a shout that Tommy as Kev seems to do well in a central role and doesn't shy from a tackle even if it is mistimed occasionally, I want Ross to succeed bit atm he may need taking out the firing line for his own good and we have a man manager who isn't afraid to make these type of decisions.
